Recently, it’s come to our attention that we accidentally created a synergy that makes Domino into a perfect block/power gain machine.
Some of you may have seen a video circulating where Guardian’s True Northern Defense synergy gives Domino enough Block Proficiency to reliably always Perfect Block, which when mixed with her mechanics, always gives her a huge bonus to her power meter.
We totally acknowledge that this slipped right by us, but it’s something we have to change. Right now, we’re looking at changing Guardian’s True Northern Defense synergy to increase Armor Rating when blocking, instead of Block Proficiency so that it doesn’t have this unintended interaction with Domino’s abilities.
We don’t have the final numbers at this time, but the increase in Armor Rating should reduce damage by as much, if not more, than the increase to Block Proficiency would.

We thought it was safer to make a change to the Synergy since Guardian is newer, and we would rather not make a change to Domino, a long-standing Champion that is pretty sought after. However, it seems like you all disagree with that.
We do have another idea that I would like to float by you guys that will leave the Synergy unchanged, and leaves Domino basically unchanged, but does mean that this interaction will no longer happen.
Right now, her abilities take into account outside sources of Block Proficiency, but we would change it so that it does not. The new ability would read: "A Block with (X) Block Proficiency from Domino’s Abilities results in a Perfect Block, reducing incoming attack damage to zero and granting 10% maximum Power instantly."

After some more discussion and reviewing your feedback, we’ve finalized how we’re going to address the unintended potency of Domino with Guardian’s “True Northern Defense” synergy. Per community feedback, the change will be made to Domino’s ability, rather than Guardian’s synergy. Her updated ability will read as follows:
“While Lucky, a Block with a maximum roll in Block Proficiency results in a Perfect Block, reducing incoming attack damage to zero and granting 10% maximum Power instantly.”
This means that outside sources of Block Proficiency will no longer impact this particular ability, while still allowing Domino to operate exactly as before. The previous version of this ability already required Lucky’s additional Block Proficiency, a maximum roll in Block Proficiency, and the Block Proficiency mastery in order to activate. With the new version, we’ve removed the need for the Block Proficiency mastery in order to activate the ability.
