At first glance, the OP has a legitimate argument. Until you realize that YouTubers stream Act 6&7 beta exploration. Lagacy, Karatemike, and others have streamed every path and node. Every counter they found. Then... to top it off... several of them stream their Legends Run live the first week... giving each of us nearly a month to use all their tools, tips, and cheese in our own Legend Run attempts.
It's not like this is a completely level playing field to begin with. People with teams full of all the best 6*s at R3 should be disqualified bc everyone doesn't have access to them? People with suicides unlocked should be disqualified bc not everyone has them unlocked? People that have the ability to max boost through the entire run?
While I get those are all somewhat different to the situation being discussed, they're all advantages. I don't personally know anyone that's done both the beta and a legends run that went through repeatedly practicing for it but if that did happen I'd bank on the number of people being incredibly small and that it makes very little difference overall.
Where is this coming from? Everyone has access to suicides. I have access to suicides , I simply opt to not get them. I have access to r3s . I simply have not done enough content to gain a team of them. Boosts are available plenty .
But your next para is Important. You could say it s no different from a merc running multiple legend runs from the practicing they get
So bc people opt not to get suicides, those that did have an advantage. Sure you can have R3s but not many people have all champs available as 6*s let alone the resources to rank them. Not many people can max boost for 10hrs straight without spending to do so. All I'm saying is that it's never a completely level playing field.
I'd rather have those people that actually have the ability to do a legends run for story content in the beta than opting out of it bc they don't qualify personally.
you cant buy the access to the act 7 beta but u can buy r3s by buying offers like rank ups, t5ccs, cyber and 4th july offers, you can buy units to unlock materies.
but the point you are strictly ignoring is that you cant buy the access to that specific content called act 7 beta.
and as ive said already. if you have only 1% of advantage to the rest it means that your are not fair against other contributors. thats the pint about advantage, fairness etc.
no one is talking about the possible unfairness which can be influenced by money.
It's literally on youtube. It's all right there for you to look at. This is such a strange hill to die on. This whole post is just stupid.
I mean. If looking at you tube is all we need to do, why does everyone advice to duel the champion to get the sp1 dex down first? His complaints are valid. It's just not worth looking into for everyone.
Because you can actually practice. In the videos, you can pause the video to write down the node info. You can study said node info.

That's my whole point though. Just bc YOU can buy those things doesn't mean everyone can. So if you do, you have an advantage. How large of an advantage is debatable but as you said, an advantage is an advantage.
I'm not ignoring anything at all, I just don't agree that this is an issue even worth discussing personally and that this like oh so many things on this forum is just making a mountain out of a molehill.
yes you are not ignoring anything but you grade a post not worth discussing ONLY because it is the opinion of sb else and against your opinion. that says all about you maybe you should look what the words discussion and opinion means
and it doesnt change ANYTHING if i or sb else can buy sth. if you can do it, it is different to the OP which is referred to sth NO ONE CAN BUY or Influence.
So it's okay for someone to gain an advantage from money but not by being selected for a beta?
I honestly don't get your point. You say an advantage is an advantage so shouldn't count but yet you want to cherry pick which advantages are okay and which aren't.
your problem is not that you dont get the point, it is because you dont want to get it. thats the result if you are not open for different opinions like you have clarified in your posts above. So there is no reason to push a discussion to a bad spot if you are ignoring facts by watering it down.
That's not watering anything down. That's just taking a point you made and showing how silly it is. Either give everyone the same champs, masteries, boosts, etc... or your point about "fairness" is completely irrelevant.
Spending money, using boosts, using suicides are all in the players control. Rng is part and parcel of the game and we accept that. Getting invited to beta is not in our control. So that is what is creating the unfairness angle for some people. As someone not interested in that legend title, I don't care. But, it is an advantage that cannot be achieved through money or hard work or spending time on the game. That is what irks some people.
So the people that have the ability to spend massive amounts on the game should have a separate bracket as well? That's not something someone can just choose to do when they don't have the money to do so.
It's just a silly point. You can't cherry pick advantages you're personally okay with and then want to disqualify another. It's either level or it doesn't actually matter
No. Spenders don't need a separate bracket. It's like giving one person a peek at the questions before the exams. You may change 1 or 2 questions but you still give the kid an advantage. I don't know how else to explain this.

But you cannot do the actual fight. I admit it's very nit picky at this point. But watching the champion fight and doing the champion fight are 2 different things. My difference with you is not in regards wotg OPs point. His complaint is legitimate but not everyone may feel or care doe legends run. But watching videos and actual fights are different and if someone is given a chance to do it first, they do gain a slight advantage.

I fully understand there's an advantage if someone chooses to use it. Don't think I ever argued against that once. All I said is the advantage doesn't actually matter as it's not a remotely even playing field to begin with.

You are correct legend runs don't happen at the same time. Brian grant for example takes as long as possible to do it after I assume studying various runs. Again watching a run and doing a run before the actual race is different.
Ultimately it all comes down to this. Unless there is a separate champ that no one has faced like champion boss or grandmaster is placed in the beta that cannot be practiced again, being in a beta gives a very slight advantage that may not even be noticeable.
I have never been invited to a beta and don't watch beta gameplay too. I think we can agree the advantage is too good if it is a unique fight that cannot be practiced out of beta. If on the other hand it is like 6.3 where we had all the champions available to be duelled and the nodes already available in other content, it should be OK.

Here’s a better analogy. If we’re on American Ninja Warrior, and I get to run the course as many times as I want before qualifiers, and you get to watch the footage and let me describe it to you, who has the major advantage? Sure, you could work out more, and be more agile, but you can’t beat hours of practice. Same way spenders with r3s are allowed, but beta testing isn’t as fair. You can work to give yourself a starting advantage, but you can’t pass the advantage of practice.
Hey there, we appreciate the feedback and will pass it along, but we will be closing this thread down as it has derailed into arguments and becoming way more personal than it needs to. As some have mentioned, this is the way that betas have been conducted for some time and the content in the beta is subject to change based on the results of the beta and player feedback, so it may be different even from what it being tested today. Players who have participated in betas in the past, such as the 7.1 beta, can tell you how much things can change from the beta version to the live release. Refining the fights is one of the big reasons that betas are conducted to begin with.
