Guardians Gift 2* Groot or Mantis - are either NOT in basic PC pool ?

Are either 2* Groot or 2* Mantis NOT available in standard PC crystal (thus exclusive to a special crystal such as today's Guardians Gift).

In mail Preview, I see that I do NOT have 2* Groot (also don’t have 2* Mantis), I do already have all the other Guardians as 2*.
So, would like to know who I should choose from special Gift (if either are NOT available to get as 2* anywhere else), versus which one I could maybe get from normal PC's later on at some point.

    I have every basic pool 2* at max sig (and 145 2* in total) and I do not have Groot. If he’s been out before, then I missed him. Mantis is for sure new here, but I think Groot may be as well.

    Thx, have they stopped adding any of the newer champs to 2* in general, or is it that Mantis is still very new and has not made it to 2* Basic pool yet (but WILL be in next several months ?)

    I’m not sure if reason I don’t have Mantis yet is because I rarely go and open any PC's anymore for quite some time.

    I am fairly confident that they haven’t added champs to the 2* basic pool in years. They don’t want to inundate new players with complicated to use champs. Every time I open PHCs for iso (it has been a little while) it’s just a pile of max sig crystals.

    Both Groot and Mantis are not in the basic 2* pool.
    So no chances to get them from PHC's.
    I had 2* Groot from another special event, that had those 1*-2* crystals, which contain champs that are not in the basic pool.
    Glad to get 2* Mantis too 😍

    Groot was also in the Insider bundle for 30k points in December. That's how I got him. Neither are in the regular pool. No new 2*s have been added since Guillotine. Otherwise it's either the 2* champion crystals when you're a noob or the collector crystals.

    Also I see that 2* Groot is available as part of this month's special Collector “category” based 2* crystal, costing 100 Units, in Crystals-Special.
    Next to the higher Star one we have with each month's event shards.

    I thought the recent addition of SQ 2* crystals means you can get them for units. Also the 1* crystals should have some champs not readily available as well.
    It makes me a little jealous to see our American summoners able to get those marvel insider deals. I wish they have it worldwide so I can get them as well.
