Flaw with aw that seems game breaking

So just finished an aw. Just 1 battlegroup and tier 21 as a newly formed alliance. My alliance all 10 people placed defenders. Opposing alliance only 3 people placed defenders. My 3/45 5* iceman as boss had 25 defender kills.
We had more attacker and defender kills, we had the diversity. So how is it the opposing alliance won with 60k more points than us? I seen they got a bonus of 50k points just for having a higher war rating. So how is this at all fair? Is this a new way to cheat dont place defenders to guarantee a win?

You can win without placing defenders, but it is extremely difficult to do so in the general case. Placing defenders only gives you an advantage. But hypothetically speaking the most likely way I can see for one side to lose to another side that doesn't place defenders is if they mess up and decide not to bother sending players down paths with no defenders.
If the other side didn't place many defenders, then many nodes that can house a defender would be empty. Those nodes are easy points *if* you traverse them. If an attacker simply moves through the node, that attacker gets the full points as if that node contained a defender that they killed instantly with no deaths. But suppose the other side only put defenders on three paths, and because of that you decided to send all of your attackers along only those three paths and left all the other paths unexplored. In that case, they would probably win on explore points. Meanwhile, all those empty defenders you should have gotten easy points for were left on the table. The lack of defenders didn't cost them anything, because you didn't choose to pick up those easy points.
The OP says he had more attacker and defender kills and more diversity. But neither attacker kills nor defender kills earn points anymore. Attack bonus does. Defenders remaining does. That, diversity, exploration, and boss kills are the only way to generate points in war. I'd be curious to know what the exploration percentages were for both sides in that war.
Multiplier has no effect on the scores that the system uses to determine who won or lost. The multiplier only affects the number of points that gets added to your season total.
It should be very obvious to you in which categories each side scored the most points. Just look for the green highlighted scores and there you will see where the opponent outscored you.
Yeah, that is a great theory but until you post a picture of the points from the war we cannot know why or how you lost the war. I would speculate there is a logical reason for the loss but only because there have been three wars for most alliances as a part of the new season and you are the first mentioning a "scoring bug."
its either a bug OR you lost due to the combination of attack bonus and exploration.
you definitely didnt lose by 50k points that was awarded only AFTER a win.
What service could you possibly want to disable on a tablet for performance that would eliminate the ability to take screenshots?
