CCP access to content is ruining the fun of watching MCOC imo
I’m a long time player, with lots of respect to the content creators and kabam. However, I’ve got to say I lost all enjoyment in watching playthroughs of new content (like 9.3).
Watching the content creators hop into boss fights, already knowing how to dex specials, beat phases, best counters etc… takes all the fun out of it. When they’ve had access to it for “months”. I don’t know, it used to be a lot more fun to join a stream and watch the player face the boss for the first time , them being shocked or trying to figure out how to strategize against the boss. It was a lot more organic.
That’s just my opinion. I’m curious to hear your thoughts coz I’ve noticed I haven’t really been watching much MCOC anymore as it doesn’t feel relatable.
Re: Im not one to usually make these kinds of posts.
My solution is (unfortunately) I just don't do them anymore. (EQ, SQ, and Act in general, and even BG, AW, etc because of crashing, etc)
Can't even just use simple monthly EQ to Auto-Fight some each day to get Daily Super Event.
(* at least the new DAILY Quests seem to satisfy the Daily Super milestones).
And with the new Forums format, I really don't do anything up here much anymore either (might just glance at a few things ONLY if they are on Page 1, but otherwise, NO Forums).
(*so probably some certain ppl getting away with some more “Sh-“ than they used to up here)
sorry.
Re: Flurry of changes…hiding bait and switch
Let’s get back on track. The change to refills is game breaking.
As it currently stands, it’s enough energy to do the daily quest and some EQ fights. Big deal.
It’s not enough for long battlegrounds sessions that affect placement
Not enough for 48hr BG objectives
Not enough for Act 9
Not enough for the poker SQ that ate up refills
Not enough for general SQ and solo raids
How are players supposed to do these things, much of it which is time sensitive without spending 1-2k (?) units a month if not more just on energy refills?
I agree that there’s smoke and mirrors going on here. Things are being moved around and in the end players are much worse off.
Nobody asked for prestige to count in EQ, nobody asked for prestige to expand to top 30, no one asked to have the lower difficulties removed and the energy economy adjusted. It feels like Kabam just decided that players have had it too good and just spammed a bunch of changes hoping that players won’t notice.
Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see anyone, even competitive players stomaching these changes.
Re: Flurry of changes…hiding bait and switch
@Montycarlo …folks who play BG really need energy when eldermarks are gone and all the content is done. It’s been like this forever. The rest of the folks that don’t play much during the week may have a weeks worth sitting around when they go to play something. But others will still be looking at where’s my energy.
And the energy is just one example. This new design is meant to monetize refills, revives and potions all over again. They did it in war and AQ years ago now it’s into questing. They want folks to spend units to play.
You used to be able to have a healthy stash of units , positions, revives and refills simply by playing actively and now every change they make appears to be attacking what folks are used to storing… likely because some AI data analytics are telling them there are too many resources being hoarded that prevents folks from spending. So they are strategically attacking and removing the way we earn and hoard these resources.
I like to assume positive intent on changes …it just doesn’t feel that way.
You now have to decide if you have enough potions, units and refills to even attempt a piece of content now..regardless of your roster. No amount of champion rank ups will change that. All current content designs are attacking your resources more than ever before
Re: Supply strike issue
See this would be an issue if the quest was meant to be available every day…but it’s not. It’s been counting down for the last several days, indicating that it unlocks on Sunday. Also, a quick search on the forums, or in the news/events tab on Kabam’s website would have told you this.
we need to to normalize actually doing some research before coming to rant on the forums
Re: EQ
Vega's point that Kabam needs to formally apologize is valid. When you make a mistake the first thing you should do is apologize then quickly tell your customers why this never will happen again. I do get Vega’s frustration because Kabam does overplay RNG for monetization, imho.
I opened 8 crystals and a nexus in the first hour, and I am happy with my pulls. If Kabam gave me the choice I would not “reroll” any crystals, so I am ok with getting an extra crystal. I doubt Kabam has the resources to offer all players that open crystals in the window to reroll in a timely manner, and that is just a fact.
Ultimately your trust in Kabam, should be eroded just a bit and you should consider this before buying or grinding for crystals Kabam might muck it up. However, Kabam did try to make it right was it perfect no.
Re: Is Zola comp enough
I opened 7 Titans and a Nexus. I already have Zola, so happy he wasn’t in there as my opening was amazing. Add another champ and it could have been tragic.
However, if it was say Spider Woman who was my most wanted and wouldn’t have minded pulling her all 8 times that was missing, I’d want my 8 chances again.
So no, I don’t think 1 Titan is enough. It’s kabams problem they screwed up the crystal. 1 Titan isn’t enough. Should be at least 1 Titan for every 2 opened, if not just 1:1.
Why is no one talking about energy refills?
It’s like they either forgot to include them or deliberately left them out. With all the content that requires energy now, this change feels frustrating and unnecessary.
I’m really starting to wonder what direction Kabam is going with this.
Re: WAR Season 60 issues
You don’t start in any reward tier with the new season. Everyone’s score is 0. War ratings are locked so you’ll have the same war multiplier as you have right now.
