Best Of
7 * hyperion
An R1 7* gentle is way more tankier with decent damage.
Do thinks get better as we rank hyperion up?
Re: Elder Difficulty – Feels Predatory and Not Proportional to Rewards or Last Month’s Tuning
I will note on the skill node - you don’t technically need those effects, you need to prevent evade. So you can also trigger the furies with slow, ensnare, true effects, coldsnap, or ability accuracy.
The armor one does let you use power drain/burn/lock, but that is still probably one of the more restrictive nodes.
Re: Summoners Fest and Why I quit MCOC
I don’t want to be overly critical here, but I do wonder how the average person could think that the devs were only focusing their attention on content creators. Content creators were not given any special badges or bling I am aware of. Not even the CCP members were identifiable unless you specifically knew what they looked like personally. I wonder if this was more of a (mis)perception than something that was actually happening in any capacity.
True story about the name tags. As others have mentioned, they had our legal names printed on them, assuming you could even see that because you had a 50/50 chance of them being flipped around the other way. However, because of that I started off introducing myself with my legal name, and then adding “… but you probably know me as DNA.” This quickly became clumsy, so I just dropped it and decided to just introduce myself as DNA.
I swear I am not making this up. The second person I did this to, I said “hi, I am DNA.” And they looked at me for a moment and then said “oh, DNA, is that like your in-game name?”
Yes. Yes it is.
It is entirely possible that it could seem like only famous people were drawing the attention of the devs, because the devs interacted with regular players with a familiarity that gave those players an aura of importance, rather than only seemingly important people drawing their attention. I, apparently, have no aura to speak of whatsoever. I generally only looked important based on the company I was keeping at the time.
Re: Elder Difficulty – Feels Predatory and Not Proportional to Rewards or Last Month’s Tuning
I'm not a fan of the EQ, but 60 revives is a skill issue. I do think event quests should be more approachable, but elder should be a challenge. If you are not fit to do it you can just explore classic and get similar rewards.
Re: December Banquet Event
Speaking as an alliance leader, I always want to have the option to kick someone who is behaving funny. The last thing I'd want is to have someone get banned or something during the Banquet and being unable to kick them, with that possibly having negative ramifications for the rest of alliance. I've had someone get banned for whatever reason before, which resulted in us getting docked points from AW and 29 people getting significantly less rewards due to this one person's actions. That was super demoralizing after an entire season of hard work, and I absolutely don't want something similar to happen during Banquet.
I'm all for introducing protections against being unjustly kicked, but alliance leaders need to have the option to kick members who are not behaving correctly.
I mean, it might not even be an issue of cheating. I've had to kick people for going on anti-LGBT rants in the alliance chat. If you do that (or prove to be any other kind of bigot), I want you gone ASAP. I don't want to spend Christmas with you constantly spewing stuff like that just because my ability to kick you has been temporarily disabled.
Re: December Banquet Event
I mean put all the rewards in solo event instead of splitting the rewards in solo alliance realm events
The whales carry realm event so it's not that bad but some players don't contribute to alliance event so that's the bad part
Re: Kabam twitch got a temp ban😅
Hi @GroundedWisdom ,
I fully agreed with you that everyone involved in the world of MCoC are all human (apart from those damn AI that keep walking towards us players 🤣).
And you are right, as human we all make mistake that is all part of being human. Also do think that we all together, players CCP and Kabam should be better at communicating, respecting , emphasising and supporting each other more.
MCoC players is a massive community, with players all over the world, and many with English as a 2nd, 3rd language, and while we would want all of our players to communicate with each other clearly, with logic and respect, we can realistically accept that is hard to achieve with the size of players in MCoC. So any experience forum members would know not to get too upset over a little comment by someone, even more so with a Kabam's staff.
Kabam employees are filtered, they are interviewed and hired into the role for their strengths, when mistaken happened (and to be honest it does happen a lot with MCoC) it does tick the community in the wrong way. As an employee of Kabam and experienced and knowledgeable like Dave should know better than that (and don't get me wrong I really like Dave, KMike and Pinwheels)
I think as a human being it important and helpful as the process of growing and learning to recognise accountability.
I accept that Dave (and everyone else work at Kabam) are just like us, good day and bad day, overwork and stress will make us lose our balance, I'm sure Dave know time like those best to stand back, breath and refocus. But sure mistake happen. For me I would/will have a lot more respect if Dave just pop in a say,
"hey listen my bad, it been a rough weekend, I'm really proud of what we done over the weekend, so got a bit worked up about those issue, I shouldn't have said what I said, and will try to be better next time"
Od course I'm a nobody, so what I say or my opinion would mean nothing to Dave, but that is just my 2 cents.
Re: Twitch?
Little review on the evolution of livestreams:
When livestreams were introduced to the game, it was a different way to engage the community with information, it was a great way to show cool stuff, have a insights of what was comming and interact with our community managers. It has changed, how?
1- The stream was simple, showing charts, showing info. Now? A lot of people complaining about the infomercial quality, the focus is not longer engagings the community; but more of announcing the sales that are coming.
2- Player engagement, it was simple. You watch you get a promo code, you enter it and you got some goodies. The only drama? Sometimes there was complaints about no promo codes. Promocodes got replaced with the excuse of "We want players who legitimately watch to be rewarded", newsflash a lot of people just leave it in the background and then read the recap. The solution works on theory, people not interested still get their way.
3- Twitch drops, different timezones rightfully complained, they decided to find a solution without even researching if it was ok to give drops on replays or not, this has happened for months and finally got punished for it. All this over the obsession that "People have to watch!", while a lot just keep a device streaming in the background and the outcome is basically the same. They created this monster on their own from the get go, why you may ask? Even for the right timezone expecting working adults, young adults, students or children to be genuinely watching on a Friday morning or afternoon during school or work hours is beyond stupid.
4- Lets not forget of the time they decided to show a previously recorded video and call it a livestream....
Kabam, you turned a very good tool to engage the community into a space to advertise, this is all your doing. The difference between the previous community managers and the current ones is as wide as an ocean. I am not saying one was better than the other, the only feeling I have is that Jax and Miike actually fought for the player over bad decisions, maybe it was for their own benefit because they didn't want to deal with the negativity that bad news follow. Nowadays I can't see a single hint of someone trying to defend the player interest. The Summoner fest was a clear example. The expectation of having a funcioning adult, teenager or even a kid in front of a screen for 12 hours over a weekend was so out of touch its beyond understanding.
TLDR: Do better, if you see an idea challenge it, question it and put yourself in the players shoes and ask yourself if its even a good idea.
Re: Twitch?
that makes sense. Thought it was something else. Luckily, I got mine over the weekend. It was easy enough to do. Leave it playing while you did other things, lol
