Re: Thoughts on Rebalance Program ending?
They close rebalance program because they dont want nerf whalers' Dark Phoenix LMAO
Re: Banquet or Cyber weekend event
original poster said “it was awesome last year, a real game changer for me”.
Part 1 is not correct by any objective measure. Part 2 is an opinion that is correct in OP’s mind.
Re: My take on rebalance program
I agree with case of serpent and Leader. but atleast we had some system. Isn't it better to have a less efficient system than not having a system at all.
if they kept rebalance as it is, and didn't touch dp, or nerf dp, there would be some outrage definitely. But atleast we had some hopes for dracula. Imagine instead of saying we gonna keep serpent as it is, they said we are going to discontinue rebalance at that time, Champs like arcade would have remained mid.
My take on rebalance program
But I believe it is a disaster to end rebalance program. Over the last 3 years, only 4 champions got a slight "nerf". That is,Abs man(no regen at start), zemo (root bug), bullseye (dexing basics dont apply bleed which is nothing) and swomen (it is really not a big deal yall barely see the difference). None of this affect these champs in any negative way.
But these are the champs buffed by rebalance program:
- Titania
- Shuri
- Attuma
- Mantis
- Sandman
- Shocker
- Dani
- Gladiator
- patriot
- arcade
- silver sable
- spunk
- ironheart
- vision
- green falcon
Most of these champs got significant buffs. Rebalance program was the most pro player move. Now they removed it altogether, champs like dracula are destined to stay mid. And we will see less "powerful champs" like nico karol and swomen, since they need to be careful as there is no going back and may under tune champs.
without rebalance champs like arcade shuri or glad would have never gotten buff, stating they are decent. Also kabam didn't confirm where does the resources of rebalance program will now go to, we are supposed to get more champion buffs right since the rebalance team now have less workload and can focus on buffing more champs? but no confirmation from kabam side either.
TLDR: Rebalance was player friendly, there's nothing to feel happy about removing rebalance.
Re: Thoughts on Rebalance Program ending?
Hear me out. Someone else brought 12.0 into the discussion, so I'd like to draw a comparison that is probably long forgotten. That patch made one mastery too powerful in the eyes of the developers...mystic dispersion. It was adjusted, everyone got to test it out. Everyone was refunded and got the opportunity to buy it back. It was a great way to execute the change. Another less proliferated mastery was made less effective in the patch, and if memory serves me right, this was when I got my first taste of GW, so you can understand how long that's been a norm. Anyway, at some point the mods stated that the pure skill mastery was going to be handled like mystic dispersion. It never was. There wasn't enough interested players to keep them honest with it. We did our little spend freeze...it was inconsequential. Sadly, I knew the that I could never fully trust my game investments to not be taken away...and I caved and id3 spend from time to time...more and more. I think I've seen enough to not turn a blind eye to the convenience that Kabam takes with devaluing what they deem necessary anymore. It's born again FTP for me!
Re: Thoughts on Rebalance Program ending?
Yeah, I can see the argument that she's an objectively worse attacker without the AAR. I don't necessarily agree (because I can get really annoyed when I can't predict whether stuff fails or not on my opponent), but I can see that argument and I think there's a fair bit of validity to it.
What I struggle with is how that translates into her now being "ruined." She has all of the damage and all of the utility that she has always had, save for arguably the worst and most unpredictable AAR of any champ (that has access to AAR) in the entire game. For a nerf to genuinely ruin her in my mind, it would have to remove something like her power stings or her fury buffs.
Re: Everyone's Talking About Dark Phoenix but...
When they say they will still buff champs they're referring to old champs not newly released champs, those will only be rebalanced when they're actually bad for game health that's literally what the post says, only when deemed necessary. If a champ is mid it's not necessary, it would be nice but it isn't necessary, there is a difference.
Mid isn't subjective, all it takes is some testing in BGs and you can immediately identify the issues.
Re: Everyone's Talking About Dark Phoenix but...
They said only when it impacts game health, none of the champs I mentioned impact game health except for maybe Nico, they're just mid and that's the end of it so this means mid champs will be staying mid from now on. If this is how it's going to be from now on then yes scrapping the rebalancing program was a stupid move in my opinion
Everyone's Talking About Dark Phoenix but...
If the answer is yes then here's my other question, are they genuinely trying to kill the game now? Whoever's been designing champs this year has been missing the mark a lot with all the bs defenders and mid counters for said bs defenders, yes there are some exceptions but at least half the champs this year were either bs defenders or mid counters for said defenders. How are they going to ensure we don't get more mid trash that just stays mid in the future because of the rebalancing program being dead? Such a frustrating situation all they had to do was give away Dark Phoenix for free during Banquet...
