Or if the sp2 had garaunteed critsHe does not need a buff. The recoil damage can be mitigated by his signature ability at a high sig levelI could care less about his recoil if he was actually consistent. Hitting 3/4 crits could make a bgs match last 30 seconds long than if he had gotten 4/4 crits and his sp2 was designed to hit more crits than non crits because his crit damage rating gets halved but increases his critical rating by a considerable amount. The design choice for his sp2 was just poor.

Ironically, he doesn't have that issue anymore (and hasn't since 2018) thanks to Jean Grey. Would be cool if the synergy at least reflected that.There's no need for recoils,It's in keeping with his comic lore where using his powers uncontrollably caused him damage. That's the point behind it

One thing I could see is the standard SP1 not consuming souls, but there being a pre-fight that does consume souls, where you can change the functionality of or otherwise enhance the SP1. Maybe each buff denied by soul imprisonment places an Incinerate on the opponent, or pauses your aura.I've always thought that it would be neat if his aura of incineration did damage per buff on the opponent. Do a lot of damage against cosmic champions with a ton of them, less so against buff immune science champs.Sp1 shouldn’t consume souls. Soul imprisonment basically functions the same as neutealize and someone like Rintrah can consistently apply neutralize
Of course, you could tweak more things than that. Not using up your souls whenever you throw an Sp1 would be a welcome change. I can see a change where you could use a soul to somehow enhance the Sp1 if you wanted to (by maybe double-tapping block while you throw it or something), but having his Sp3 be a once-in-a-fight type of ability while his Sp1 drains all of your persistent resources is so restrictive.
He's such a cool character and I think he's so cool in the game, so it's a shame that he's not a good attacker. I've seen him do some neat stuff with a full synergy team, but since very little content nowadays allow for synergy teams, that's kind of a moot point.

BALANCE UPDATE TO ATTACKER & DEFENDER STAT FOCUS

Our 51.1 release contains a handful of tuning changes to the Stat Focus mechanic! The tuning breakdown can be found below with the affected stats underlined.

We envisioned the Stat Focus mechanic as an avenue for Summoners to flex their tactical skills and to have fun customizing their 7-Star Roster. While Stat Focus impacts each Champion differently depending on their kit, the mechanic offers Summoners an opportunity to adjust and enhance the performance of their 7-Star Champions according to each Champion's weaknesses and strengths, personal playstyle preferences, and in some cases, incoming opponents. On the other hand, we don’t want Stat Focus selections to be so impactful that it changes the identity of a matchup (i.e. a Stat Focus selection shouldn’t allow a Champion to completely neutralize an opponent’s threat).
7-Star Champions and Stat Focus has been live for just over 2 years now, and after evaluating its usage and performance since release, we’re making tuning changes to a few of the Stats to move the mechanic closer to our intended impact of supporting more diverse choices.
