Re: Will we get comp for how much the game has gone down
Maybe Kabam doesn't have enough Prestige with the server provider.
I actually Kabam might be migrating the game either to a new server or some king of big foundations up, maybe this AI 2.0.
As the game stability have been horrendous over the last few months, got to be something big going on behind the scene.
Re: The New Energy Economy
I’m going to copy my thoughts I posted on one of Vega’s posts:
My opinion on the whole energy situation is MCOC 2025 is vastly different than MCOC 2014. Back then in MCOC 2014 it made sense to “monetize” energy and have people spend on energy refills. You could either take your time to complete content or spend to fast track it, which I thought was reasonable. There wasn’t really anything to spend energy on back in the day, as there were daily quests for catalysts and story content. Jump forward to MCOC 2025 and there’s just so much content. So much that we might not need to do but feel compelled to do so we don’t fall behind. Daily quests, solo raids, battlegrounds, EQ, side quests including Everest, AW Showcase, etc. That’s not even including non-“normal” energy modes such as AQ, AW, and arenas. It’s very clear they want us to be in game 24/7 to keep engagement and spending up. So let us have our energy refills topped up and in overflow to let us do what we want. IMO energy cost should not be a barrier of entry in MCOC 2025. Kabam should allow us to have energy refills in overflow so that we can stay engaged with the game. If Kabam really does screw up this energy thing and I’m short on energy to do BGs or EQ, that will honestly kill any remaining motivation I have to play this game.
tl;dr: 2025 MCOC should not have an energy barrier. I have a feeling they are going to kill this game by requiring people to spend units on energy. There’s no reason to require spending when they’re already monetizing the hell out of everything else. I, for one, will stop playing the game.
Re: Energy Economy Suggestions
My only issue is I don't see any reason for energy to exist at all, except for creating yet another way to monetize playing the game. I do spend pretty frequently, but I want to spend money to get something I want, not to buy the privilege of being allowed to play the game. I can't re-arrange my work schedule and sleep schedule around MCOC, does Kabam want me to play the game or not? Make up your minds.
Re: Let’s talk crashed
This guy is hilarious, he has a problem of making 1 person responsible for all the issues; but he is perfectly fine when saying things like Whales cheat and they don't get punished the same because they spend a lot...
Re: Let’s talk crashed
Can't wait to hear the explanation for the energy one, it's one thing changing EQ completely and to a certain extent I can tolerate that one once it's balanced properly, but now you guys are going to take away elder marks and force us to use energy in BGs too? How are we expected to do all content on a daily basis without buying units? Furthermore how are we supposed to save up units for the sales which happen basically once every three months when we're going to have to spend them on energy. I don't see how there could be a reason OTHER THAN monetization.
Is this what they are aiming for?
We used to get 2 from summoner advancement and 3 from summoner engagement iirc, so we are getting 3 whole refills less.
To top it off they are going to get rid of elder marks so we will need to use more energy to play BGs.
If that wasn’t enough we can’t even get refills from green crystals.
All this while they want us to do the daily events, do the EQ ( with 3, 4 and 5 energy per tile ), do the weekly SQ, play BGs ( at least every 2 days )?
I think this change will lead to a lot less engagement. For example, If I log in at some time and have all of my 72 energy, 6 in AQ, 6 in AW, then I will do my war fights, AQ fights and look at what I can do with energy, let’s say I decide to do daily quest and it takes all of my energy away. Now I have some spare time, but I don’t have energy or any refill ( due to changes ), what will I do? will I buy energy to do some EQ ( with overtuned attack and health defenders ) or BGs ( with the power gain metas and bugs )? NO I will simply choose to do something else that doesn’t put so many restrictions on me.
If it was before, I would have some expiring refills which would at least make me think about doing a path in EQ or a couple of BG matches to get the objectives. But now with no energy why would I go out of my way to pay units for energy? I would just log in ( since I love the game ) when there are my war fights and use up whatever energy I have and log out, just once a day and that too for very short amount of time.
I thought KABAM wanted to increase engagement, but this is a step in opposite direction. If that’s what they were after, then congratulations they are doing great. 🥳
Re: Let’s talk crashed
I appreciate you @Kabam Crashed for showing up on this thread and responding. It takes courage to step into the fire like this when things aren’t going well and fingers are getting pointed in your direction.
What I find frustrating in all this is the lack of communication of the overall vision you guys wanted to bring in. When the change was made to the alliance events and people spoke about the missing energy refills, what I saw a few times from the Kabam folks here was “Oh, we moved some of those rewards to the daily quests…” which is different from “we’re changing how we’re doing energy refills because…” It took weeks to hear the real story that we got this weekend.
For the adaptive EQ, this has been said before so I’ll keep it short, we gave feedback on the earlier iterations and what we got was a huge step away from that. Once we see the message “We heard you, we’ll fix it and tune it down…” same thing happens with the SQ a few days later, the tunings are close to the adaptive EQ that caused the community to react. This just feels tone deaf to me to large extent. That is what is fueling a lot my frustration personally.
Another point re:adaptive EQ, is the slyness in the communication of the difficulty in the last live stream. There was nothing in the live stream to give us any idea of the tuning and to give us any idea things were going to show up as hard and overtuned as it came out. I remember seeing the person talking about Elder difficulty having a weird look when mentioning the ramping up of the difficulty and that had raised a red flag for me.
These kinds of gaps break the trust with the people in the community and that gets very difficult to repair at one point. It seriously makes me wonder at times who tries these out internally and thinks this is ok versus what we are had in the past (even just the month prior to that).
