The only rule…there are no rules
7 star basic pool update you’ve hyped for weeks comes out bugged (surprise)…ah just give the random people that opened right away double 7 stars.
Remember we have to protect the economy of the game, except when we screw up. I wonder what it would cost in the ravager sale to replicate this compensation package?
Re: No compensation will be enough, rollback is only solution
Exactly, if this is the solution, then extend the window and give other players a chance to double up too. I mean, if someone opened 70 crystals, they get an extra 70 crystals now, while anyone who waited or was at work or otherwise unable to open gets nothing. How is that a fair resolution in the broader system of this gacha game?
Re: Shame on you Kabam
There's one very easy solution for this. Give EVERYONE a compensation containing the amount of 7 star shards they had in their account at the original rollover time, regardless of the number of crystals they did or didn't open
Re: Shame on you Kabam
I bet you 90% of people complaining about the botched crystal don't have 10 7*s at sig 200...
Re: No compensation will be enough, rollback is only solution
I don't even think you are seeing the seriousness of this situation. It's not just people didn't get the champs they wanted. Its sig ability levels of other champs as well, the prestige gain from it when they made prestige so valuable now.
This is not just a cry for not getting a new champ, if they don't roll it back people are keeping sig numbers, prestige for free.
Oh yeah gold and iso too and there is a drought on those...
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
The more I think about this; the less acceptable this “fix” is. It is far too large of an advantage for those that opened early. Not to mention a seeming “punishment” to those of us that didn’t take advantage of the bug.
In my case; I had saved over 60 crystals…I believe had I rolled 5 when I noticed the new champs were not in it. I said “it’s likely a bug. They’ll fix it. I can be patient….” (Kabam please look this up if you’d like).
I “lost out” on:
1. over 1,000+ sig stones
2. Approximately 15,000+ titan shards
3. Who knows how much gold and ISO.
I may not need gold or ISO…I don’t “need” the stones/shards; but it is still not a fair solution (which should always be Kabam’s goal). That isn’t the point. No one should be left feeling “wronged” because they were patient. No one should feel “now X has 1000 more prestige than me because I had to get ready for work…” etc. Also, while I may not need those materials…many in this game/community do.
I can’t even imagine if I was a free-to-play player (or moderate spender) that saved for 6 months…only to find that I was losing out on hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in in-game material because I didn’t exploit a Kabam mistake/bug…
IF Kabam’s solution is a 1-to-1 rebuy; the only truly fair solution is to extend the timer. Extending the timer is the solution Kabam themselves deemed the fairest solution in the past (and they provided a sound explanation as to why it was the fair solution). I do understand, however, that the potential financial costs to Kabam are larger here (which is a consideration).
At absolute minimum Kabam should have given some form of compensation those of us that either (a) waited upon noticing the bug, or (b) just weren’t available to open within the first 45 minutes for any reason. Benefiting one portion of the player base over the other for a mistake Kabam made (really not even a mistake…just a bug) will rarely be the best choice.
Having said the above…Let’s not forget all of the positive mojo Kabam had prior to this. Summoners fest was a huge success, the brawl was awesome, and many of the announcements have me and many others excited for the game’s future….I hope this doesn’t derail the positivity the community was building on. Still looking forward to the livestream!
BASE POOL CRYSTAL COMPENSATION - A SUGGESTION FOR A BETTER FIX
I will not sugar coat it and cut straight to the chase.
There is a "relatively simple" and better way to go about with the compensation for today's base pool update issue.
Keeping in mind the "Zola Titan" incident, and the goal of not benefiting player who happened to open a "bugged" crystal, here is my suggestion, based on the same protocol used with the Zola Titan:
- all players who open base pool crystals in the 24 hours period counting from the update will get compensated
- players who opened the "bugged crystal" get a 1:1 "fixed crystal"
- players who opened the "fixed crystal" get a 1:1 "bugged crystal"
This way everyone gets the same amount of crystals with the same pool. Also, the people who did wait for the fix to be in place don't get punished with less shards, awakenings, new champs and sigs.
Please kindly consider this fix Kabam Team
Much love,
WetN00dle
Re: Shame on you Kabam
You aren’t being honest,..if it was the other way around i’m sure you’d have a problem with it.
There is no rollback,..you get all the dupes and resources what you originally opened and get to do it all over again.
So sure obviously you’re not gonna have any issue with that being the recipient of all those freebies.
Sheesh talk about biased.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
Kinda infuriating they went with this route,
Whole community that i seen from Line chats, discords,YouTube
Etc
are hugely disappointing at what just happened
people getting HUGE ACTUAL COMPENSATION
Compare this to Zola and it’s not even fair
and I opened a lot of Carystal for both and I didn’t even make cutoff for today’s basic BOTCHED rollover.
Kabam says they care but fix this asap and give crazy compensation for those who got it in this tiny window.
kinda insane
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
For those who managed to open many crystals
Free sigs on old champions
A fresh try for new champions
For those who missed out
