Re: Some clarification on the recent ban wave
Kabam is not claiming to have literally invented new technology. “New tech” is what game companies generally refer to new technical implementations. When someone asks for a particular effect in the game or a new feature, the devs will often say that would require new tech. They aren’t saying they need to wait for someone to invent it, they are saying that particular technology doesn’t exist within their game systems. Kabam has been using that terminology for many years now, and it predates Kabam’s entire existence by at least a decade that I’m aware of.I do believe thety should be held accountable, also I do believe there should come out with a better solution as a next step.So question do you believe that ppl shouldnt be held accountable for their actions you really feel the whole blame falls on kabam because that is what it sounds like i get it it sucks that the players in mainland china dont have a legit way to get the game correctly that use android phones and yes ethically with the money issue you have it is not right but kabam sends out warning atleast every few months in game not to use 3rd party also what if kabam just sent those ppl an in game warning you think at the end of that 7 days anything would be different for them no it wouldnt and kabam never forced those players that spent that money in the game it is obvious kabam made a decision that wasnt easy you want them to just abandon the fight on cheaters just so they can continue playing the game or is your thought process to just let that region use 3rd party to play the game but everyone else cant cause that would be a big slippery slope right thereI care about the game, and I sympathize with the people affected. What I won't do is abandon logic.Tell me the logic of accepting someone's money and then telling them too bad you shouldn't even have been here to give me the money in the first place.
I am not buying the "new technology" story. i am sure this is something that could have been implemented years ago when mods started showing up. I think its a last resort to a situation they lost complete control after 10 years. A new game restricting the access to a huge market like China from day 1 or year 1 wouldn't have been as profitable as restricting it after 10 years would it?
I have used other apps on android that stop functioning if you download the apk from somewheere for years. Like I said lipstick on a pig to call it new technology.
There are many techniques for detecting or otherwise blocking cheaters and other prohibited behavior that currently exist but Kabam has never implemented or had the resources to develop. I’ve discussed quite a few with Kabam over the years, and I’m pretty sure they’d implement all of them in a heartbeat if they had the resources to do so. But the game wasn’t originally designed to support them, and for various reasons there are significant challenges to either implement them or deploy them that go beyond just writing the code to support them. As we’ve seen with this latest ban wave.

Re: Some clarification on the recent ban wave
They could have restricted purchases and access from the whole region. They still took their money."Did Kabam encourage Chinese players to skirt that? You can't be serious to tell me they didn't know for 10 years that China has a ban on google store rofl come on dude. You're assuming they knew people were installing it illegitimately, overlooked it, and now pulled the rug out from under them. There is zero evidence that Kabam has encouraged this behavior. No one is refunded money from all these years. That's how the game has always worked. As for your assertion, those are your words, not theirs.I never said they didn't have a right, but its unethical to sell a product or service that you know people shouldn't have access to it and then tell them "Oh well you were not allowed to have access to it in the first place"
They have no control over whether people download the game through other methods, but they certainly have the right to enforce it if they detect it through different screening methods.
You are going to tell me they just found out after 10 years that MCoC was unavailable for regular download in China? That the game had to be "sideloaded"? They never saw screenshots of that weird screen that actually asked for a government issue ID? Cause I have and I don't even work for Kabam.
This is not just about the ban, this is about potential 10 years of people buying stuff from Kabam and now being told they have no access to it because even after the suspension they won't have a way to access the game. Unless they find a way to officially give them access.
You can use a VPN to access I will give you that. Now you can't VPN a credit card origin, the geolocation to use it yes, the source of the financial institution you can't.
And lets not forget that while they were developing this "new technology" they opened a webstore. The webstore itself could have restricted access from this regions since they are playing in a illegitimate way.

My Advice to the 简体中文 user who got banned in the game recently-review yourself 1st
Hi all,
This is my game background:
As a result, these are the advice that I provided to other 简体中文 player as well since online people always have lot of regional/cultural misunderstanding well.
if you are NOT from Mainland China, here are the possible use cases that would possibly get you banned:
1) Idevice (e.g. Iphone, Ipad)- your device is jailbroken, you would still get banned even if you download/updated through Official Apple App Store.
2) Android smartphone- you download/install the apk file from 3rd party site (e.g. apkpure.com), you would get banned because the game must come from Google App Store.
If none of the above, submit ticket to Kabam support for review.
However, if you are from Mainland China, then the case would be more complicated:
1) Android-
the Google Play Store is indeed unavailable in China. This is due to censorship restrictions and regulations in place by the Chinese government. As a result, Chinese users typically rely on local alternatives like the Huawei AppGallery, or third-party app stores such as Tencent MyApp or 360 Mobile Assistant
Google Play 商店在中国确实无法使用。这是由于中国政府的审查限制和监管。因此,中国用户通常依赖于本地替代方案,例如华为应用市场,或第三方应用商店,例如腾讯应用宝或 360 手机助手。
Since mainland China does not have google play store access, if you install it from 3rd party site, it would get you banned.
2) Idevice (e.g. iphone)
Yes, "Marvel Contest of Champions" is available on the Apple App Store in China. The game is accessible within the Chinese App Store, and there are active advertisements for it in the region, according to Sensor Tower. Digital Creative also states that the Apple App Store is available in China and is actively used by millions
Then, if you really installed it through official Apple App store, you should submit a ticket to Kabam support for review.
Also, as per my understanding, people in Mainland China must use Game Accelerator (加速器) to play this game due to Chinese firewall. Every foreigner (perhaps even KABAM themselves) on this forum had cultural/regional misunderstanding about the term game accelerator, and they THOUGHT this is the mod app that can make the player has infinite health in the game. THIS IS WRONG. It’s a legal VPN that only works for certain connections of which the vast majority are for online games.
The reason that they named it as Game Accelerator is because if you mentioned the name of VPN online, that app would IMMEDIATELY banned by Chinese government. So, they named it as Game Accelerator.
Finally, I personally traveled to Mainland China for business/personal purpose. Once you got there, you cannot check your gmail, yahoo mail at all. I tried to use some well known VPN (e.g. Express VPN) and that does NOT work either. if you contact their CS support, they would say their usability is not stable inside China due to the firewall restriction and they provide me some refund on monthly fee (don't trust the express VPN ads online saying that they can be used in Mainland). So, the only way that you can get access to gmail, google, yahoo email in china: I ended up looking for VPN service inside telegram and find the legit Game Accelerator service in China (usually you pay for few days of that VPN service).
Just want to clarify the regional misunderstanding to everyone online.
P.S. Don't post your phone serial number online.. nobody want to see that in public.
This is my game background:
- 10 years Iphone player inside APAC (not lived in Mainland China)
- Always use one Iphone only and update from official Apple App store.
- Have lived/studied/worked/traveled globally throughout my whole life (APAC and North America).
As a result, these are the advice that I provided to other 简体中文 player as well since online people always have lot of regional/cultural misunderstanding well.

Re: Battle Grounds
Just play the game less. Then you have to deal with terrible AI less.
Re: What about those players who are MIS-Banned?
Going to just close this thread since I got your answer here and we dont need another discussion thread about bans. Here's the advice given in the discord of what to do.
"Help, I've Been Banned!"
Step 1: If you believe you've been erroneously banned, you must contact the Support team.
Step 2: Here is the support team link to do so: https://help.kabamsupport.com/hc/en-us/categories/360003410932-Marvel-Contest-of-Champions
Step 3: If you have never submitted a ticket before, you will need to create a Zen Desk account.
Step 4: Wait for Support to reply. This normally takes anywhere from 2-48 hours, but could take longer due to volume. You will need to provide detailed account information to verify your account ownership.
Additional Notes
1. You can be upset and frustrated. Do not take that out on others here.
2. There is no one on Discord that can help you with this issue. You will have to contact support.
3. Please be kind to the mods who have answered these questions approximately three hundred+ times so far.
4. Understand that using software like Bluestacks, or downloading the game from an APK is a violation of terms of service, and is what was hit with this ban wave. You cannot overturn this if you did not know.
5. Be patient. Ban overturns (on the extremely rare occasion that they happen) take time.

Re: MODDERS ARE STILL OUT THERE SO WHOM DOES KABAM IS BANNING?
Posting a really old picture is just kinda embarrassing OP. Sounds like you fell for someone else's troll and believed what you read online. I'll save you the embarrassment by closing this now so this may sink to the abyss of forums.

Re: Battlegrounds alliance event scoring is broken
Kabam is aware of this one. I dont remember if they told me if they knew when it would be fixed and I'm too lazy to find it. Just wanted to let you know that Kabam is aware of it at least
