Re: Dev Diary Update - 15th August - Let be Frank

Every decision Kabam is making just straight up sucks right now, and has for some time. A couple cool things have snuck their way through, but overall their choices as a company and their ability to communicate those choices absolutely sucks.

The prestige move is awful for anyone that doesn't buy out every single sales. The EQ move is awful if those units aren't as easily accessible elsewhere. The game consistently has the worst loading and stalling times I've seen in my entire time playing it because of whatever they do each update.

Why does so much have to be so bad? Why am I sitting here remembering how good we had it when a facelift to the website was a "big reveal"? Think about the fact that that big reveal happened just 8 months ago and the game is in such a horrific state in comparison, both from a playability standpoint and a decision making standpoint.

2025 has proven that all Kabam does with player feedback is throw it straight into the trash and just do whatever they want. They are far and away the most tone deaf they have ever been, and we're all just here hoping and praying that finally something gets through to them about the awful direction they're heading.

I'm tired

I'm tired of the countless bugs I get to face every single day

I'm tired of all the lag that gets worse with every update and drains the life out of me

I'm tired of the champion design strategy which took a steep turn with the start of year 2024 and sucked the fun out of battlegrounds with all these overtuned attackers like Nico and defenders like Dark Phoenix

I'm tired of all the new content getting released with a bunch of bugs and "unexpected" issues, had to ask myself if I'm actually enjoying the game many times during my crucible run

I'm tired of the lack of communication which is kept minimal unless someone from Kabam feels like answering a select few questions

I'm tired of the hyper-aggressive monetization which knows no bounds and finds its way even into a test mode

I'm tired of how no progress is being made on the case of AI issues and it only gets worse every day

I'm tired of how RNG reliant the most competitive solo mode in the entire game is

I'm tired of how Kabam can disregard the most reasonably justified criticism or the community sentiment and just decide not to acknowledge or revert even the worst possible changes/features they could come up with

I'm tired of the lack of moderation in the forums. If they cared just a tiny bit, they would have banned or at least jailed many people including me as I've often shown poor behaviour myself

I'm tired of waiting for bases to be added to the game and think I'm starting to lose patience with each passing day

I'm also tired of my cat meowing in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason when there is already an abundance of food in her bowl and she isn't really looking playful either but guess I better check in on her regardless. How unfortunate for your precious time spent if you did read it all the way, its actually hilarious.

This isn't me being sarcastic or anything, but why? What impact will it have on y'all? Just so you know my thought process…. If you're already in the prestige race, you've been chasing prestige forever having those champs ranked up. Same with relics. I can see the bottleneck with the new relics being possible because there's a lot and resources might be scarce with how many we can immediately get.

But if you've been chasing prestige as a top 10, wouldn't you have nearly 30 of those champs already ranked up?

Again, just trying to have a honest conversation.

I’ve seen the sarcastic tone, and, I really appreciate the way you are approaching this. It’s because really you only ever need to chase the very top 5, and dye to recent changes champs like Surfer are no longer relevant. This makes him relevant again… same with Zemo who coincidently just came out and nobody cared about until this announcement (from a prestige perspective). This will essentially discourage ranking anybody outside of this top 30 effective today… that just drains so much enjoyment outta the game. You want top 5 AQ no Red Hulks or Silver Centerians for you…. And I just think that’s really bad for long term health.

It’s gonna narrow not just the top 5 AQ chasing rosters too, but anybody playing AQ. This about the impact of BGs on how a champ is looked at today… this will be just like that too. People will dismiss chunks because the prestige ain’t good enough, tbh I can’t think of any upside here

I would love to be proven wrong, but this new change to prestige for AQ and War being based on top 30 champs AND relics (and keep in mind 7* relics just released

) is pure corporate greed.
While the top-5 prestige cadence has spead up (Onslaught, DP, High Evolutionary) it has been manageable for modest spenders and even FTP (yes, seriously) to catch up and maintain their spots in top 500, 100, even top 20 AQ alliances. New top-5 prestige releases were relatively rare. Top 30, though? If it wasn’t already, expect 2 new top-30 champs every. Single. Month.
Don’t hide behind pretending this is a player-focused change to give players more “rank-up autonomy”. This is the opposite of that. This is pure, 100%, we want to sell A LOT more stuff, prepare to fall WAY behind if you don’t spend a whole lot more.
You aren’t listening. You are not making any of these updates with players in mind. Almost every update recently has been a silent nerf, including most updates in the dev diary. I’d say do better, but this has been mistake after nerf after mistake.
