While I think the one week/one month/permaban system is ultimately good and that Kabam shouldn't permaban people immediately unless what they did was truly egregious, I still think knowingly using cheats and then getting surprised that you got banned is…something. There have been plenty of people who got banned for reasons they didn't understand (even if those were the right reasons), but I don't have terribly much sympathy for someone who just used cheats out of boredom.

I always do EQ. This is the first time I won’t finish it. I haven’t even gotten to Elder level because the normal mode is bs. Who the hell signed off on this?

There are more than a few of us who do not have time or inclination to watch streams & join more chats along with playing a game that is beloved but also time-consuming.

I’d suggest rethinking the communications strategy, yes, but I’d start with a straightforward, “just the facts” channel equipped with slides and links like @Herbal_Taxman suggests for anyone who wants to deep dive. Benefit with that approach is it becomes a quickstart guide available to everyone, regardless of life situation. No comments—just the overview.

Having to compile info across multiple channels is onerous. When I have time, I’m good to do that, but I usually reserve that for end game or complex content. Doing that every month is a no fly zone for me.

I have specifically avoided Discord because I do not want or need another app or site I have to keep up with. Line, YouTube, social media and forums are already too much. The suggestions of moderator overreach mentioned in this thread are another reason. I deal with enough people on power trips in ordinary life that I have zero desire to deal with them around a game I play—for fun.

I’m happy to respond to anything you folks want to cook up when I have time. As I mentioned in another thread, I don’t spend time here or in game because I’m rooting for things to fail. I spend both money and time because the game remains enjoyable to me.

Nor do they address the very unnecessary step of requiring everyone to do Classic before starting Elder.

Seems to me they merely cherry-picked the one piece of "passionate" feedback that they knew they could quickly address and then completely ignore the plethora of other legitimate, thoughtful criticisms. All so they can slap a fix on it and say "See, we listened!"
