Hey everyone,
On Jan 2, I started a new account with the singular goal of getting to valient as quickly as possible except that I could not open any crystals. I had done this challenge once before and knew it was possible but it had been a half year since then. Here is that post.

I wanted to start this challenge after banquet was over and do it through the beginning of the year since that tends to be a slower time for mcoc and less to do on my main account.

Almost right away, I got a bunch of free 3* champs from the naughty and nice mail from Christmas. I thought I had waited and would not get any of that but I guess not.


The next day when I got past Thanos and got proven, I got a naughty and nice calendar with a 4* selector on day 14. I was impatient for 4* champs so I did rol with this roster. All 3* except 2* leader for wolverine.


Now I had my first 4*s and Rhino had just gotten buffed. He became the main champ of the account and got my first ascension with Angela from the naughty and nice selector getting my second.
I then got my first 5 star from the new account calendar on Jan 22 and finished act 6.


A week late on Jan 28 I got 7* rhino from the photogenic foes event, solidifying him as my main champ on this account. 3 of my profile champs were rhino.


I slowed down on story and focused on grinding units from the lower acts if I need them and I am glad I did since I was able to buy an extra key for the box with the Valentines event getting me mr fantastic and star lord, both my worst picks at the time.
Later on Feb 27, I was really glad since everyone got free sentry from Dave's promo code. With the power sting synergy with Mr fantastic and sentry, Rhino became even better allowing me to get through act 7 and start on act 8. I also got Phoenix from the whole Valentine key CCP promo code fiasco.



Things slowed down even more since I didn't know how to get PARAGON. I needed 3 6* champs and couldn't get them so I slowly grinded units and story until I got 8.3.6 Cerastes down on March 13. That was the worst fight in this whole challenge since no crystals means no relics.

And then today, kabam sent out a free 6* daredevil and 6* kingpin. I took them both to rank 4 which got me paragon. Alliance coliseum rank rewards had just come out and I claimed then to get enough t4 alpha to get 2 of my 7* to rank 3 getting valient!


So the challenge is over. It's been a fun and challenging journey. Similar to the first time doing this challenge, it is only made possible by events and free champs that kabam gives out. Thank you kabam making it possible but also easier as time goes on. To everyone that is not valent regardless of your skill level, kabam keeps making it easier to progress and if I can do this, you can get valient too.

I played games with matchmaking at its core, PvP games like LoL, PUBG

Those are industry standards, gold standards in fact

In LoL, you reach a higher tier based on points, say 5,000 players qualify for the highest tier by accumulating enough points to qualify for that tier, they are all in the highest tier

In battlegrounds GC, it's very different, you have limited slots per tier, you get into celestial bcos you have higher points than mysterium players

This changes player behaviour greatly, camping when you have enough points, matchmaking becomes dead when celestial players start camping

Celestial players are screwed this coming season without Beroman providing reliable matchmaking at the top, every celestial player is going to have long waiting time especially when celestial players start camping to lock in the rewards

Beroman doesn't camp even when he is C1

There is a vicious cycle, when players start facing long waiting time, they may just stop queuing and go play other modes den there will be less players to match against, I see it happen before bcos the viewers start dropping when there is long queue time, the streamer has to be really good at talking to entertain the viewers but not everyone can do that

You can don't believe me, just watch the celestial players livestream and see how long it takes to get a match especially in the last few days when everyone starts camping

There are just 250 slots from C1 to C6, that is just not enough players for matchmaking

But wait there are mysterium players as well right

Unfortunately if you win against mysterium players as a celestial players, you may just get 4 points for winning and lose 16 points if you screw up, I don't know how the system calculate the points payout bcos Kabam doesn't reveal the formula but you understand what I'm saying, Liam also mentioned that in his video even in matches among celestial players, the points gain starts dropping to 2-4 points
