Re: Shame on you Kabam
Maybe give out Selectors based on the amount of opened crystals. For example up to 10 crystals you get 1 Selector or something like that. Basically every solution other than this
Re: The Problem with The Compensation
The more I think about this; the less acceptable this “fix” is. It is far too large of an advantage for those that opened early. Not to mention a seeming “punishment” to those of us that didn’t take advantage of the bug.
In my case; I had saved over 60 crystals…I believe had I rolled 5 when I noticed the new champs were not in it. I said “it’s likely a bug. They’ll fix it. I can be patient….” (Kabam please look this up if you’d like).
I “lost out” on:
1. over 1,000+ sig stones
2. Approximately 15,000+ titan shards
3. Who knows how much gold and ISO.
I may not need gold or ISO…I don’t “need” the stones/shards; but it is still not a fair solution (which should always be Kabam’s goal). That isn’t the point. No one should be left feeling “wronged” because they were patient. No one should feel “now X has 1000 more prestige than me because I had to get ready for work…” etc. Also, while I may not need those materials…many in this game/community do.
I can’t even imagine if I was a free-to-play player (or moderate spender) that saved for 6 months…only to find that I was losing out on hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in in-game material because I didn’t exploit a Kabam mistake/bug…
IF Kabam’s solution is a 1-to-1 rebuy; the only truly fair solution is to extend the timer. Extending the timer is the solution Kabam themselves deemed the fairest solution in the past (and they provided a sound explanation as to why it was the fair solution). I do understand, however, that the potential financial costs to Kabam are larger here (which is a consideration).
At absolute minimum Kabam should have given some form of compensation those of us that either (a) waited upon noticing the bug, or (b) just weren’t available to open within the first 45 minutes for any reason. Benefiting one portion of the player base over the other for a mistake Kabam made (really not even a mistake…just a bug) will rarely be the best choice.
Having said the above…Let’s not forget all of the positive mojo Kabam had prior to this. Summoners fest was a huge success, the brawl was awesome, and many of the announcements have me and many others excited for the game’s future….I hope this doesn’t derail the positivity the community was building on. Still looking forward to the livestream!
Re: Shame on you Kabam
I bet you 90% of people complaining about the botched crystal don't have 10 7*s at sig 200...
Re: Shame on you Kabam
Y'all didn't learn your lesson after the mythic cryatal situation? lol we already know this is how they solve exploits usually, the worst solution possible is the one they choose
Re: Shame on you Kabam
You are still not getting the point, its a free jump in prestige.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
well, whatever goodwill they accumulated is gone in my book. This vastly over compensates those who could jump on early and everyone else gets dusted.
I don’t know why anyone tries to give this company the benefit of the doubt. So many other solutions that could have brought balance to their mistake. Instead they just made sure a large segment of the community gets screwed.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
NGL: I am baffled at how they came to 1-to-1 being reasonable — how? How is that the answer?
I am serious. Someone needs to explain this like I am 5 years old, with the answer to this question:
”If a person opened 10 crystals at 12:02 and got a Serpent and Photon and didn’t already have them, how is that something that has to be made whole 1-to-1 when there was no guarantee that you would pull any of the other 21 characters in those 10 crystals”
Again: In a game based on RPG and character kits that we know have varying value, explain the answer to that question like I am 5 years old, when that person you are making whole 1-to-1 already opened kits that have value
Re: Shame on you Kabam
Same with the prestige argument like most people probably that are getting 30 40 50 plus back already have there prestige top30 full of sig200 or very very close to it.
Re: Shame on you Kabam
There's one very easy solution for this. Give EVERYONE a compensation containing the amount of 7 star shards they had in their account at the original rollover time, regardless of the number of crystals they did or didn't open
Re: Shame on you Kabam
You could also use this logic to say, well anyone who hoarded a couple hundred thousand shards probably has all the special release champs already so who cares…
I get what you’re saying about the actual impact potentially being less than what some of us are speculating, but the generallack of fairness remains.
