Click the information icon and when it pops up click the character card, when you click back, it should then be selected.
Re: Ascension for new champions. Please reconsider.
Ascension going live isn't going to change the sentiment on the new champ cashgrab. If anything once players get a taste of ascension in game the issue will get way worse
Re: Initial thoughts on the Magik rework
i made a lil post about this. im tryna see how many loops people use. my post was about an sp1 spam, sp2 loop if you wanna check it out
Re: Initial thoughts on the Magik rework
@Jgdahustla1 I did something a bit unorthodox. I basically used sp2s until WS had 8 furies (6 for Cap Marvel) and then went up to sp3, so I nullified 9 furies off WS and 7 off of Captain Marvel. I then immediately charged a heavy to decelerate then built to the sp 2 and got a bunch of dire degens. Then I immediately heavy if needed to keep the loop going. The degens will 20/16 degens from the sp2 will eventually likely expire but the 10/8 main ones needed for fuel can stick around longer. Something cheeky you can do (and you can do this many of her rotations) is let limbo expire just before you get your second bar of power so that you can immediately get a fresh limbo to decelerate when you throw off your sp2.
Re: Why is nobody talking about these changes in Battlegrounds?
Lots to unpack here, but first off I am completely against the hp changes for the same reasons you are so no need to go there.
Saga control would absolutely allow you to be creative with your picks tho, more than any regular meta purely because of the fact that half your deck will be filled with niche champs.
Well, you are a Celestial player so I’m sure you’ve faced plenty of accounts who still run half decks with r3s right? Cause I certainly have, and I haven’t even gone as far as Celestial yet mainly cause of time but I have seen Cantona and Beroman face a good amount of them on their streams as well. You can’t convince me that as an endgame player you don’t have enough radiance + other game currency to do a bunch of r3s before season begins especially considering the only rank ups that matter are weeks 3 and 4 ones. Sure, you might occasionally run into the ultra whale with 30 niche r4s that just so happen to be saga and who will clap your cheeks because not only do they spend a lot but they're very good at the game, but realistically those players are a minority and probably not even 5% of the entire playerbase.
As for the ascension bit, that's a completely separate issue which I also disagree with entirely. Ascensions for new champs shouldn't be locked behind a paywall that's just stupid and absurd in general.
As for the bit where you mention skill, this is precisely why I said a saga control meta only works if the meta itself is extremely skill dependant rather than draft dependant. So 1. Obviously can't be a nuke meta and 2. The nodes or whatever you wanna call them have to be tough to make up for the fact that many top tier defenders would be essentially useless. If the meta was just draft a saga attacker and nuke then yes that's bs, and if that's what we end up getting I am against it too. However, if there is a big skill ask I don't really see an issue there as long as I don't have to face the same usual suspects from the last "idek I lost count a while ago" seasons.
Lastly, I saw you mention nuke metas are to blame, and I disagree with that strongly. In any meta, even in those where they die in 30 secs, the usual suspects like Serpent Yelena Britain Dark Phoenix will always be there simply because of the trap potential alone. With a meta like saga control however, that trap potential goes out the window which will end up shaking the meta massively. It's just a matter of whether Kabam are capable or not of executing it well, I'm obviously leaning a bit more towards no after their recent decisions but we'll see.
Re: Initial thoughts on the Magik rework
honestly this seems a bit weak, X23 can do these fights in 60 seconds and 80 hits
As 7* R1, unawakened (maybe it’s not a fair comparison, but still)
Re: This Vison Aarkus Buff...
My only concern with Cap Sam is how much they decreased his base attack and base health. I haven't been able to test him at a high level, but I'm worried they decreased his base attack too much.
My best attempt to explain the new Magik loop
one of the key points i want to make about the playstyle is the importance of mystic dispersion and knowing how much power you gain from buffs ending.
The main loop i have found is to use the MD from limbo ending after a special attack to push you over another bar of power, to then chain another limbo. let me try break it down.
Any other input is appreciated.
So to start of, get you opponent over a bar, to bait sp so they have less power.
Then get yourself over a bar to trigger limbo, to then heavy to decelerate limbo.
Get to 1 bar and a half ( Depending on your MD Ranks, this may be more or less ) and drop an sp1. since you place a fury buff on the opponent, this will get neutralised and and you will be just under 1 bar again.
Since after a special attack you accelerate buffs, this will end your limbo after you dropped an sp1, to then push you back over a bar of power with MD to trigger another limbo. Hevay punish as soon as to pause.
Loop this to stack degens.
Once ready, get to just under 2 bars of power and let your limbo end, to push yourself over 2 bars to activate another limbo and heavy to decelerate the limbo.
do a 3-5 hit combo to get more power for after you have dropped your sp2.
Drop sp2 while in limbo and watch them degens go crazy.
The reason for the 3-5 hit combo is so that you can get back to 1 bar quicker to pause 20+ degens to then loop the degen damage over and over.
Thats the loop that i have found most success with but let me know if im missing anything.
