I absolutely agree with this. The 5 bans and changes to shuffle signets made were amazing. As you said it really opens up the game and you stop seeing the same matchups over and over again, this season has felt like such a step back in comparison, I’ve done the same fights over and over and over, yelenas, photons, serpents, Zolas, and now that I have all the counters to them ranked up, it just becomes a game of who gets luckier in the draft.

40 champ decks with the 5 bans and wider roster requirement made you think outside the box, let you compete in fun fights again, and brought back an element of strategy and thinking beyond just “must place meta defender”

For me, Chavez is exactly the sort of champion that is ripe for Ascension. Great kit but just passed over in the meta for the last year or so.

I'd like to see someone like Spider-Man (Classic) next, okay kit with some uses but just needs a bit more juice.

I think the difference tho is that the game mode back then wasn’t in such a bad state in terms of balance, right now it’s horrible it’s essentially a card game where luck is the #1 deciding factor. We have reached such a ridiculous amount of bs trap defenders who only have 2-3 solid counters that only now is it starting to become a problem and turning the whole game mode stale af.

There is no harm in farming more revives. I would say farm as many as you can until the back issues are active.

I hated it. Smaller deck sizes give a feeling of much greater control over what’s happening. Less randomness, less to keep track of in the opponents deck. 40 champ deck felt like a complete crapshoot. Or at least even more of a crapshoot than the 30 deck variant.

I didn't even get past vibranium 3 last season and I was fighting MFs with 35k+ prestige, full (or almost full) decks of R4s, even folks with 1 or more R5s. I fought some people with 3 R5s, AT VIBRANIUM 3, in 8/10 fights. It was not much fun.

He, and a few others, have a point about the drops. Since the drops ramped up to weekly, you have loads of random people just leaving the game up for hours on the Home or other screen for hours, providing no real benefit to viewers other than giving a place to get credit for drops. They aren't playing or creating valuable content. So, yeah, I might bet pissed, too. Kabam is driving traffic from YT to Twitch and reducing the revenue stream of content creators who actually make valuable or interesting content. Randos who are doing nothing are now earning the cash.
