If Collectives included every star rarity, it would effectively make it impossible for players with smaller rosters to catch up. The goal of the system isn’t to create an overwhelming gap that only players with 6+ years of roster development can realistically engage with.

Instead, the design ensures that lower-progression players can participate meaningfully, while naturally growing into the system as they build out their 7-Star roster. At the same time, endgame players are still rewarded for further investing in and expanding their 7-Star champions.

Its not really Pay to play, not like they locked a complete game mode that you can't access if you don't pay.

It isn't pay to anything because you don't have to pay for it. You have to spend units, but you don't have to pay for those either.

To be fair. There couldn't have been clear requirements since this wasnt a thing back when he came out. They only just introduced it for blade and are doing it retroactively for starlord. So going forward the requirement is get them within the first week of release which seems super fair for a first edition
