Re: Another deathless piece thread
Had I known 12.0 was coming i wouldn't have spent 79 bucks on an awakening gem and stones for sw but here we are.
Sucks to be us.
Re: Thoughts on the Doctor Strange rework?
Eh, I really wouldn't say that, since both of them fill different niches in the game. Cyclops is one of MCOC's biggest nukes, while Dr. Strange is a lot more utility focused and a bit less flashy imo. It really just depends on what you're looking for. I personally love Cyclops and use him for the fun of it, but I'm not really sure where I'm going to use Dr. Strange given that so many other mystic champs already fill his niche, and he just seems really confusing to play
Re: Big Thing vs old style wars
I understand the desire to want to let people choose which war they want to do, but we're not considering the knock-on effects of that and how to bring two different types of war together into one cohesive competition.
Yes, matchmaking will probably work fine, but scoring will need adjustments. Big Thing would have to go to 15 ABs per fight to match regular AQ point values. A single empty node in Big Thing would be the equivalent of five in regular, which is a huge advantage for the alliance doing Big Thing. A team of three to cover four or more fights is a considerable disadvantage compared to prepping two champs for one fight. In regular AW you can manage with 9, but in Big Things it will cost you significantly. And then if you're in a lower tier then an alliance of three people could effectively get the same rewards as an alliance of 30 participants.
Big Thing would be my preferred choice between the two, but either way it has to be one of the two. The two cannot coexist.
Re: Big Thing vs old style wars
Who’s “a large part of the playerbase”? The people in the top 100 alliances sitting in Plat 2 and above? That’s barely 3k people right there, not even 10% or even 5% of the total playerbase, and from what I’ve heard there are people even in Master alliances who prefer Big Thing over old AW, Mike said it himself even in 4Loki it’s almost a 50/50. I don’t know where people get this notion that a large part of the playerbase likes AW as it is because they are not a large group, they are the minority.
Re: Was Excited
Y'all remember zone 25 runs for end game rewards? Ha. 15 isn't so bad. Boss Hacks almost every zone, too before zone 10.
Re: Big Thing vs old style wars
I don’t know about the rest but I whale out on all those deals for BGs, I couldn’t care less about war the rewards are for the most part ****. Also as I said on my very first comment, I don’t want to be fighting a Serpent a Nico and a Britain on the same path back to back every two days when I already have to deal with AQ Solo Coliseum and BGs, it feels more like a chore than a challenge so I would very much rather fight one big fat Serpent with a less than ideal counter and be done with it.
Re: Big Thing vs old style wars
No, it's not. Anyone under Tier 5 can manage with less than a full BG of active Players. Plus the Diversity limits the amount of the same Defenders because most Alliances under the top will spam Serpents, Bullseyes, Enchantresses, et al, over Diversity.
War might be a competitive mode, but design choices affect many more Tiers and Alliance situations than the top running full tilt.
Re: Big Thing vs old style wars
@Kabam (Osaurus) Rex I totally agree with the OP!
The OLD AW is so boring and slow.
And its interface is so outdated.
You need to place defenders on 3 different maps.
People in my alliance hate it…and often forget to go back in and complete it because of the timers (smh/lol)
We'll prefer fast and slim content over slow and heavy everyday.
