This is my first (of the year) —and without a doubt, my last—post on this forum.

I’ve been playing this game for nearly a decade. Ten goddamn years. And today, out of nowhere, I receive a ban for supposedly using third-party software?

Are you serious?

I have never—and I mean never—used any kind of illegal software. Not now, not ever. I’m a casual, free-to-play player who just enjoys the game after work. That’s it. And this is how you repay your long-time players?

Given the laughable incompetence you’ve shown lately with engineering issues and half-baked updates, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is just another one of your epic screw-ups. Maybe your broken system flagged a regular app or, who knows, just owning a OnePlus phone is a bannable offense now? I've been using the same damn phone brand for eight years. Suddenly that's a crime?

This whole situation is beyond idiotic. You ban loyal players like me while cheaters and exploiters roam free. It’s insulting, infuriating, and just plain stupid. If this is how you handle your community, then congratulations—this might be the final straw. I’m done putting time and trust into a game that clearly doesn’t give a damn.

This happened to me too, I sent a ticket and they said they couldn't help me. I do believe there is a bug with this new update, I couldn't play bgs normally the day the update happened and the game froze when opening the gold ticket at the lower right part of the screen. And btw no, I haven't cheated, I would not throw my ftp veteran account to the trash.

It has nothing to do with whether you cheated or not. I this ban comes from he source you downloaded the game. If you got your APK file from anywhere other than Google Play or Apple stores then that's the reason you got banned.

There are too much people that say the same thing. Maybe there is really a bug with this anti cheat system?

Every time there is a large ban wave we get a burst of these. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the system; we had a similar burst after the first bunch of Necropolis related bans went out.

Without knowing precisely how they are detecting and banning the latest stuff I can't vouch for its accuracy, however, I can say the overwhelming trend is for Kabam to be spot on with bans outside of a couple of very narrow corner cases in recent years. So narrow in fact I can count them on one hand.

Can you shed any light on this part of the announcement? " Another couple thousand accounts have received warnings for potential infractions, and if you received this warning know that your account will have more scrutiny on it moving forward. If you are in fact using an illegitimate client, now is the time to stop."
There is a gray area where Kabam can't tell if someone is cheating or not?

I don't know but I can guess. The announcement essentially says they have deployed new ways to detect modded game clients. If I had to guess, I suspect anyone found using a modded game client and has actually been detected exhibiting remotely sus behavior (i.e. cheated in any way) has probably been banned. Anyone detected using a modded or otherwise unauthorized game client that hasn't actually been detected cheating with it yet has been given warnings and put on a watch list.

This is a guess. I have no direct knowledge of the details of this particular announced ban wave.

Why show any mercy at all? Maybe Kabam decided there might be a lot of players who for whatever reason are using side loaded clients but may not realize these side loaded clients are not just coming from an unauthorized site but also have been modded. There have been a few instances like that recently where players have been discovered running copies of the game from unauthorized download sites. Maybe they want to cut those guys some slack if they were just complete idiots and not actual cheaters.

Make no mistake: if you are downloading this game from an unauthorized source and have no way to absolutely verify the provenance of it, you are a complete idiot. Anyone who does that deserves to have their game account vaporized, and is explicitly stated grounds for doing so. Any warning they get is a gift.

I updated the game on the Google Play Store as I always have.
