Re: Yet another state of the game video
Firstly, like to take this opportunity to thanks @Kabam (Osaurus) Rex (Mike) for responding (especially on the weekend, his days off).
I do believe what you say Mike and it does help (at least for me) answering the Third points on my previous post.
However, something to consider, while no one expect all top end players and CCP are sensible, reasonable or correct with everything they say, it does feel that dialogue and communication between the two parties (the players and Kabam) are not really productive, if the Kabam genuinely open to listen to experienced players (which honestly believe you Mike) then why do many have express their feeling of feedback falling into deaf ears?
Why is it so hard to have a healthy dialogue like what you wrote here and for these players to know they are being hear and Kabam are taking action to fix problem on a products that we (Kabam and the players) love. Let face it, this is not the first time CCP and experienced players express this feeling of "feedback falling on deaf ears).
Secondly, @ItsClobberinTime hit the nail right on the head, there are a numbers of decision and implementation that just scream "we don't know (or care) about our players (customers base), or even worst "we don't even know our own product", and honestly it is really got to the stage where the players themselves have stop care as it is too tired to get angry.
To add on top what @ItsClobberinTime already said.
- Ascension, we all understand that players that spend get advantage and certain time exclusivity, this used to be max 6 months. So how could Kabam feel the a year of exclusivity would be healthy for the game going forward. To make matter worst, no information to reassure players of some kind of plan for future acquisition, we not asking for full information, just some kind of reassurance. If this plan continue it will only make the eco and health of MCoC worst, just like design direction of Unbalanced Def, it will be come a compounded affect that would take Kabam years to try and undo.
- Essentia, this something that many players was looking for (a way to reduce the ever bloating currencies minefield), but how could Kabam thought that was the right way to launch it.
- Who on their right thing that this current off BG season meta is even remotely.…honestly I can't even think of a word to describe it, it be on compensation. However could anyone not see this only exacerbate account size differences (which is already a massive problem), to make matter worst by continue with 40 dex size. Yes, we understand these are testing opportunities for Kabam in the intention to improve BG, but for any test to have chance, Kabam have to make it at the very least "playable". It would take Kabam much to realise how poor the concept it, just by having a few Kabam staffs with a more moderate account size to jump in and test play the meta.
- Dimensions Arcade 2.0, the amount of issues with the mode at the very start of launch, it mind bogged how it could launch like that. It felt like the game mode was not designed to play on mobile for a mobile game.
There are many more I'm sure, but these kind of design decisions and implementations that make the players (customers) based feel like Kabam have lsot their way with MCoC
Re: Yet another state of the game video
Kabam is starting to rapidly lose its player base. I’ve played this game on and off for years, since 2018 I believe (maybe even earlier), and spent more than I care to admit. However, with all the recent decisions Kabam has made, I’m quitting spending and will be playing significantly less until Kabam course corrects. I wish I could say I am optimistic Kabam is going to improve, but I’m long past that point now
Re: Yet another state of the game video
Not saying this would resolve all of the current problems, but these are some easy changes or additions that could probably be added within a few months time.
- The New Champion Ascension Problem:
Add a new crystal that can be obtained from endgame content which contains 2026 ascendable champions. This could also cost for example 5,000 shards, and 500 shards are given per 7* ascension acquired. This gives people a path to obtaining new champion ascensions, even if doing so is extremely difficult. And to make it easy, use the same design as greater empowered crystals, just a different color.
- Battlegrounds Boredom (Wider Playerbase):
Implement the Omega Pool mechanic to the Gladiator’s circuit. Allow people to choose up to 3 omega pool champions as part of their draft guaranteed. For example, let each stage of the draft contain either 1/2 omega pool champions until 3 are chosen. Additionally, omega pool champions can’t be banned beforehand. For the first season it’s used, put the top 30 banned champs from the previous season in that pool. For every season after, make it the top 30 used champions. Naturally, the omega pool will change from season to season. This may create some issues and might not be the perfect solution, but it’s something.
- Battlegrounds Boredom (Competitive Playerbase):
Add a tournament section for battlegrounds, as Liam talked about in his video. Make this tournament accessible to everyone in the GC, but with each round at least half of the current participants are eliminated. Perhaps a bracket is formed only after 16 players are left, or the 16 players with the most points are selected for it. Additionally, remove the Omega Pool mechanic from this mode to differentiate it from the gameplay of the normal GC. This could also be used to determine Battleground Brawl participants in the future.
- New Competitive Mode:
We don’t know what Fortress Assault looks like right now, perhaps it is the solution for this. If not, we do need a different game mode, battlegrounds has become very repetitive for most people, considering when it was added 6* r3 was the top of the meta, and not much of it has changed since. Making changes to battlegrounds will help, but it’s not the only solution that is needed. While making a new game mode from scratch could take a very long time, adjusting Fortress Assault would not. If FA isn’t a competitive mode, I strongly recommend adding a competitive aspect to it, even if that is optional for bonus rewards.
- Reusing old content on a consistent basis to provide end game content
I’m going to make a separate post about this soon, as it’ll take a lot more explanation. There is an easy way to reuse old story content and bosses for new end game content, that also isn’t just Carina challenges. This could be a temporary replacement solution to new content, such as a potential next Epoch or Necropolis, for months leading up to their release. It would give us consistent end game content to do while we’re waiting for the release of those pieces. This isn’t a replacement, because getting new end game content is more important, just an easy to implement temporary one.
- Stop putting resources towards external game modes
Based on the feedback given from dimensional arcade, I think it’s safe to say that no one really wants to see this developed further. While I can understand wanting to expand the game into new areas, doing so with an external browser and gameplay that does not really resemble the normal is not a good idea. It takes time and resources to develop this, which would instead be put towards developing more things people are asking for. Squad Builder, while it was not received particularly well and would need changes, at least was not used with an external browser and contained MCOC’s core gameplay.
While all of these changes do not include everything needed, they include what could be used as a starting point. Everything I listed above would be possible to implement within the next few months. This is because everything stated has already been developed or created in a different way. New champion ascension crystals, that’s easy, RER rewards already exist and thousands of crystals have been developed before. Omega pools and tournaments have already existed due to last year’s Battlerealm Brawl. Fortress assault is already coming, just add a competitive ranking to it based on points or something similar/optional. Reuse content more often like Carina challenges, the engagement from this recent set should show that players enjoy content like this.
Ultimately, the important thing is that making these changes would start to show players that you care about our experience. Saying you are listening is one thing, but showing that you are is another. Again, I know at the end of the day a company can only do so much in a given time period, but these are just easy changes which would be used as a starting point. We play the game and want it to be in its best possible state, and are just trying to give suggestions on how to bring it there. We’re not asking for perfection, we know mistakes are going to be made, but if changes aren’t made that show a reflection of feedback, then it starts to seem like a lot of promises or statements are just empty. I really like some of the upcoming content and new additions that have come in the last few months, but there’s no denying that some parts of an additions to the game do feel stale, unfair, or unimportant.

Thanks for the input above though Mike, I do understand there are limited resources and time available.
Re: 2 Star Side Quest
You used to have to actually CLAIM them each time, before doing next one, (actually press the CLAIM, or from stash).
Now at least you can queue up several completed levels, without CLAIMING them as you go.
But you still have to *DO them in sequence.
Re: Incompetence at its finest
nobody, and I mean nobody is gonna read your entire wall of text. Its not even coherent text.
Re: Ascended gentle is severely under performing
Crits being lowered vs Yelena is actually an expected result. Awakened Yelena caps the opponent’s Critical Damage Rating, with the cap reaching as low as 50% of the starting value at max sig, so champs should be Critting for less against her. That’s normal. And no, Daunted only raises the Attack Rating cap, there is no way to raise or bypass the Critical Damage Rating cap besides taking Yelena out of Observation mode.
And on that note, Daunted does indeed only raise the Attack Rating cap from 60% to 100% of starting Attack. This effectively removes it from consideration from champs like Onslaught and DPX in base fights, because they had no capacity to raise their Attack beyond the starting 100% anyways. Gentle, however, does gain Attack Rating boosts from Muscle Mass, and being locked to 100% of starting Attack still prevents him from getting those Muscle Mass boosts. Yelena is, unfortunately, stupid like that, and this is why having a Daunted champ like Onslaught doesn’t suddenly allow you to delete her from existence with Attack Rating boosts from nodes (best demonstrated in BG metas like Power Shield or, more recently, the Invade one).
Re: Epoch challenges or act 9.4
My guess is that epoch will be considerably more difficult / expensive than 9.4
Re: Nodes
… “brought to you by Internet Explorer” post…
@Billybob1971 you happen to be a “newer” player? what’s your progression level?
only ask because your Caltrops question goes with a slew of nodes that most u\of us have LOOOOOOOONG worked around. part of the progression process.
it’s cool. if you’re having difficulties, there’s a slew of info out there for progressing players; personally recommend MCOC Noob as the patron saint of progression walk throughs.
as a hint, champs like Sinister, Omega Sentinal, and Omega Red, love that node. good luck!
