Re: Is BG participation really that bad?
When it comes to drafting, some of the work is done before the match even begins.
What I mean is, while there will always be luck involved in drafts, some of that luck can be lessened by deck construction and ban strategy.
Stated differently, there is a lot of strategy involved, and that strategy begins before you enter a match. Everything has to work together and complement each other: your roster rankups (especially if you're F2P like me and don't have a lot of resources), who you put in your deck (this is very complex), who you plan to ban in a way that complements your deck, and all of this involves knowing which matchups can work for what point totals and also being flexible and having instant knowledge when the match starts. It's a lot of factors all happening together both before and during the matches.
The actual fights themselves are really about execution and a lot of the success or failure occurs before you even start fighting or even start drafting.
What I like about BGs is that it's not like doing content where anyone can achieve the same result because you can always spend limitless revives to do it and then both good and bad players obtain the same rewards and same titles. But I am afraid that BGs is going to become so monetized due to ascension and collectives bonuses that it will be impossible for F2Ps to compete at a high level unless they spend their entire lives focused on the game, which is not something that I would do or recommend doing.

Ahhhhh RNG rank up gems
Gotta love the ridiculous bad luck and BS when you open the crystal
Re: Is BG participation really that bad?
The season still has a few hours left but I already hate the next season with all my heart.
Re: Who else got Kabammed!!!
It is suck, bad roll of the dice, might as well look on how to move forward.
So who do you have as options?

Re: How many revives for...?
It really depends on your skill and roster. For abyss, I only used 9. For epoch heores, I used 54, and for epoch villains, I only used 15. It's also just about how you're playing that day, as my vast difference in epoch runs proves.
Re: New to Twitch Drops – A Few Questions
Drops are only available on Twitch, usually the title has Drops On or CCP Drops On. YouTube creators also do live streams but YT doesn't have drops. It's better to go with Twitch streams
Re: Is BG participation really that bad?
Just saw Nagase video on Attuma, and while I did get the impression that he did, but in that video he stated that he retired from high end BG.
For context this is the player that got the most qualified point for the Brawler last year.
So current state of BG is
Bero Man - Quit MCoC (mainly because of CCP twitch exclusive, but ascension and other factors were also in the background)
Andrew The Ruff - Quit BG - due to Ascension)
Nagase - Quit BG - to the state of BG
Liam - Quit BG - to the state of BG
Many other high end players have slow down in the game and especially BG, Lagacy, KT1, ect.
WhilWhile at the medium to low end players just not finding it enjoy or rewarding for their time.
The problem with BG is an accumulated of various factors
- Unbalanced Defender
- Too many Magic lock to sell Magic key
- Too many sales event (buying your way to the top)
This make BG even more draft and roster dependant, which cause frustration to players as they feel the experience and results of the match are not within their own control, knowledge or skill.
- Un-engaging rewards
- Time requirements vs progress is unbalanced
This reduce participation, because if both, the experience of the game mode it not enjoyable and it is not rewarding for the time invested then why bother.
Once participation started to reduce is it a vicious cycle that will just feed itself, and would need big decisive action to halt the drop, but that didn't happened. Which lead to the problem gotten worst.
Now I believe that Kabam know all of this and are trying to take action to revitalise BG.
However, and this is a a big however, there seem to be a lack of coherent between the BG team and let say the Finance team (or those that focus on that area)
For example:-
- Ascension 7* could have been part of the solution to the Toxic Def, however when the Finance team turn it into a over, heavily monetisation direction, the potential solution become fuel to flame the problem even more
- Collective, again could have been a nice fun idea, but as soon as can have impact to the PvP games mode, it become more fuel for the fire.
All of these ideas are good, and great and can generate Kabam cashflow, it become a detrimental when it lost it balance between monetisation.
How fix BG is not a simple solution, because the problem lie rosted deep in Kabam business structure, struggling to find a balance between generating what Kabam consider as "enough" cashflow/profit and push players beyond they financial and enjoyment for a hobby. Right now the balance isn't there.
Re: How many revives for...?
Could be 0. Could be 100s. Depends on your skill level. I personally never dipped into non overflow revives for these challenges but others had different experiences especially with the 1 per week model
