This is why I don't push or play that much. The giant gap between the high tiers and lower tiers is ridiculous imo (and yes, I am just complaining because I'll never be a celestial player and get that oodles of radiance).

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure if a player enters defense placement with a team of champions, even if they don't place the champions, they'll still end up on the map in random places in the actual war.

So it would make sense why Nico wasn't placed in the Place Heroes part but still showed up on a node in the war itself. But that wouldn't explain why Sersi wouldn't show up.

They do it so that you don’t just walk over any fight by clicking the champ with Class Advantage and calling it a day. Truth is that for a defender to be worth their salt, they need to not collapse at the mere idea of facing 1/6 of the roster. They want you to actually have to consider matchups at a level beyond just the basic class wheel, and that requires throwing some curveballs in the design process.

You also have to realize that, as annoying as these anti-class wheel abilities may seem sometimes, they almost never actually overturn class relationships; they just restrict the options. Galan being Nullify Immune doesn’t mean that the Mystic class is the worst option against him, it just means some Mystics aren’t good. The best options against him are overwhelmingly Mystics, just those that index in Power Gain and Neutralize class abilities rather than Nullify. Similarly, Leader having Severe Debuffs doesn’t change the fact that he still loses hardest to Skill champions. His abilities suffer significant downgrades while fighting at class disadvantage, and he still loses heavily against Skill abilities like Tranquilize, Defensive Ability Accuracy Reduction, and Endurance. Again, he’s just asking you to not mindlessly see a Debuff-spamming Science, auto-click Kingpin, and proceed to mash attacks until you win.

The broken defender is a product. Create a new meta defender that spenders can whale out on. Spenders can acquire and rank the defender and for a short period of time have an advantage. But this creates a problem. After a while everyone puts that meta defender in their deck/defense, and the spender is no longer at an advantage because they can't deal with it either.

So, let's sell the solution (product) to this problem. An attack counter. A spender can acquire and rank-up before others can. Again, for a short period of time, they are at an advantage.

This is the process to keep a cycle of champ acquisition. If old abilities countered new ones, then there would be less incentive for champ acquisition.

Not directly related but probably intertwined is the tendency for random B/C tier champs being amazing because Kabam have more creative license to stray from their established comic counterpart's power set.

Just did the whole path and only spent one revive. Sentry can solo every single fight except Aegon and Captain Marvel Movie. Just bring in Dr. Strange and he can easily take them both and also cheese the Cull boss at the end. Don't waste your team slots on champs for fights sentry can do himself. In other words, the only two champs you need are Sentry and Dr. Strange. Your extra slots should be used for Collector options.
