I think the ones who are complaining are the FTP players who cant get the same resources in Radiance Store as those whales… They are unable to catch up with the whales.. The whales dont really care with the ingame "currencies" as they will splash real cash to reach the levels they want..

I have yet to see 1 whale complaining....

I dunno but Nebula (Nova Prime) looks cool and if they're gonna be releasing "What If" characters, how about Captain Carter and Infinity Ultron???

You only need to spend money for BGs. Even then, there are thousands of people dropping $500+ just to never make it to high ranks. Very embarrassing, reminds me of the people who buy $4k PCs just to stay in gold.

If your goal is to complete the entire game in a week from a new account, then yes, you will have an energy crisis. If you play 30 minutes here or there over 10+ years, you don't have as much of an issue with this. People seek different things from their games though.

As far as ruthless monetization in games, clearly you haven't encountered any EA games, or have an octogenarian mother-in-law blowing through thousands monthly on candy crush.
