by my estimate, it seems like it’s your job to live on this forum and white knight kabam under every single person’s opinion about the game, every hour of the day. it seems like you’re worthless.

To tell you that you're wrong in what you're thinking. It's a competition, a concept you clearly don't understand. The higher you climb, the harder the competition is. Why should you get to face lesser competition than the bigger accounts for the same rewards?

here’s the thing, you’re confusing competition with an absurdly high paywall. its not about climbing harder, it's about access being sold. no matter how much someone grinds, they can't compete with wallets, not skill. that’s not “fair” competition, it's monetized gatekeeping.

people who pay should get perks, sure, but not to the point where no amount of effort can ever catch up. that’s not competition, that’s just selling power. there’s a line between rewarding support and making it nearly pointless to even try without paying. this game crossed it.

You can't spend money to be good in battlegrounds. Money doesn't make you have more skills. Money might buy a bigger roster, but money doesn't make you an expert on using all those champs you have.

You have to know which champs counter those defenders. You have to know the attackers rotations well to KO the defender quickly. Money doesn't buy that.

You can tell people that BGs is somehow a paywall, monetized gatekeeping, or whatever buzzword that makes you mad. Money can't make you good in battlegrounds. It doesn't win fights for you. You can't pay your way to wins. It's just an excuse because you've reached your skill ceiling.

you keep repeating “money doesn’t buy skill” like that’s the full story, but you’re ignoring the structure of the mode. battlegrounds isn’t a test of pure skill—it’s a draft-based, roster-dependent format where access determines options, and options shape outcomes.

yes, knowing rotations matters. yes, counters matter. but guess what—you need to actually own those champs to use them. and when spenders have 3x the ranked champs, exclusive meta defenders, and better everything, they’re not relying on just skill—they're relying on volume and variety to carry them. and recently with every event making the gap wider and wider, while regular people wait months for content.

you can’t pretend this is a level field when one side can always get 10/10 perfect drafts, and all the top counters—and the other can’t even build a FULL competitive deck after completing everything in the game 100% and anything new that comes out immediately. that’s not skill vs skill. that’s stacked odds. and calling it a “skill ceiling” just shows you aren’t even trying to use your brain.

You can always count on him to defend kabam like his life depends on it. It's obvious this dude hasn't played any games outside of mcoc if he thinks money can't buy wins in BGs or that skill is what matters most. Pretty much everyone who defends BGs is either a spender or someone who only plays mobile games so they are already brainwashed into the p2w ecosystem.

the simplest logic is often the answer. The “new mode” opens to an external browser and the Fantastic Four movie is coming out. That kinda tells me someone from an office many floors higher than the game team made them put this in. most likely for data collection, to test a new game they’re gonna launch, and/or promotion for the movie. some mix of those three things. if i had to guess someone had this made and they wanted it thrown in in time for the movie.

i think our guys knew everybody would hate this. why ? Think about it Kabam will sell you everything under the sun, but for this they gave away a FULL titan AND units? just to play this slog ? $10 pretty much gets you through the entire thing. One thing i’ve realized about this company is if they can sell something, they will. but they went ultra light on the monetization and threw in a full titan. Meanwhile in game they’re selling 150 titan shards for what ? 150 units i think.. (math check)

the external browser is another piece of evidence that tells you somebody else made this mode and decision. if not why not just add it in with the rest of the stuff? the launcher is in a tiny little box under the SDE. no big tab under the Fight screen.. if i wasn’t watching Vega’s stream when it dropped i would have had no idea where to find it. just a little tab, an external browser and a free titan. that’s not the Kabam/MCOC we know.

I’m open to the idea that this is just a miss and i’m trying to make sense out of it nonsense. but this doesn’t follow their usual steps to horrible decisions.

Before everybody jumps down my throat, i don’t care about Kabam. I play the game for fun. I spent modestly. i haven’t touched the mode after the first day because.. i just don’t want to 🤷🏾‍♂️ i think that covers all the usual talking points so let’s have a good conversation.


TLDR; The big bosses made this mode happen, our guys knew we would hate it and gave out some pre-compensation in the form of a Titan and Units.

This much outrage on simply a gamemode that you can easily ignore is crazy,
It also gives good rewards for minimal effort so won't advice to ignore.

you completely missed the point or chose to ignore it. it’s not just ‘something you can easily ignore’ — they purposely stuffed it with great rewards so we can’t ignore it. that’s the issue. it’s low-effort, off-brand content shoved into the game with insane rewards to force engagement, not because it’s fun or good.

acting like that’s fine is how we keep getting more of this lazy design.

I have since last Wednesday when it was released,..did one run of it for 15-20 minutes and I haven’t been back since,.,and I won’t for the remaining tine it’s available.
I don’t think the rewards make it worth playing the mode,.,(it’s that bad),.,so i don’t.

okay, you proudly missed the point, downplayed the problem, and acted like disengaging makes you wise, when in reality, it just makes you irrelevant to the discussion. here’s why:

i’m pointing out that kabam jammed valuable, top-tier rewards into garbage content specifically to force players — especially competitive ones — into engaging with it, whether they like it or not. It’s not about skipping it, it’s about how this tactic degrades the game design and sets a horrible precedent.

kabam’s entire goal with this kind of content is to test how little effort they can put in and still get engagement by attaching bait-tier rewards. players like you ignoring it does nothing if thousands more cave and buy arcade tickets.

You’re right,..i am proud of not participating in what i do not like and enjoy, and i do find it wise in disengaging in this game mode for that reason.
(Why would i lessen myself by participating in this if that’s my feeling towards it)?
Meanwhile, if you’re the “competitive type”..you should accept that if you are going to 100% every piece of content then some of it you may find wont always appeal to you.
Instead you are crying about having to participate in something that you choose to do because of a bar you have set yourself,..pretty sad.
And nobody is irrelevant in this game no matter if you’re competitive, semi competitive or simply casual as i’m pretty sure this certain game mode is available to all kinds of summoners.
It is also their choice to disregard it or not,..but it’s kind of pathetic when people complain while grinding a mode that they themselves choose to take part in 😅.

you don’t get to dismiss legit criticism from players who did/are engaging with it just because they care enough to clear content and challenges to get good rewards. nobody’s crying, we’re pointing out lazy design and a clear monetization shift. and calling it “sad” to expect better from the game is just weak. you're not above the conversation just because you tapped out early. you're outside of it. huge difference.

It’s not a flex,..so sorry if i am more than content not playing a game mode i don’t enjoy and not complaining about the rewards i’m missing out on (cause i haven’t complained about that once),.,.and i’m quite content with that.
My original response was that no one is forced to play any game mode (which the OP insinuated).

But what you did was literally a failed attempt at flexing over us "little barking dogs". It served no purpose other than shaming on the OP yet you failed to realise how miserable you are when you claim to be enjoying life like the king of the world but still checking forums and arguing with random internet people at the same time. Reminded me of that one guy a few days ago who was flexing with his money and lifestyle while complaining about Kabam support over a $30 purchase. You're not the person you want people to think you are and it's really not that hard to see. Show your superiority in your studies, work, hobbies and stuff but doing so here will just indicate the opposite of your claim. Take it as a friendly advice and feel free to ignore it altogether. The only thing with no purpose here is your life, that's why you're crying on a forum about a mobile game you don't even play anymore when you could very well be doing something more productive outside lol. We're all here because we're still actively playing the game what about you? Do you normally hang around forums on a daily basis for video games you no longer play while you snack on hot cheetos and pepsi in your mom's basement or you're just that mad at the world for who knows what reason that you feel the need to send personal attacks to random people on the internet you had never even interacted with previously?
