Re: BG rewards have been secretly nerfed
Let us try again, It is necessary to do the math properly in order to understand completely if BG rewards actually get heavily nerfed. It's clear that with the 100:35 exchange rate, the rewards are significantly lower in Essentia compared to BG Chips. The point is that in the BG store, with the tokens and the 100:35 exchange rate, things cost much more compared to Essentia, so that exchange was actually very advantageous. For example, with 2000 BG tokens you get 50%
of a T6 class catalyst; this costs 320 in the Essentia store. Now, if you change 2000 BG tokens into Essentia, they give you 700 Essentia, with which you can buy double, or more than twice the 50% of a T6 class catalyst. Based on this, the real exchange rate should have been 1000 BG tokens equivalent to 160, so 100:16 and not 100:35.A question that makes sense to ask to understand if there has been a nerf in the value of rewards is the following: what was I buying before, for example, if I took all the rewards for 2 days? That is, 3 wins were 200+200+200+600=1200 BG tokens, and I could buy 3/5 of 50% of a T6 class catalyst; how much do I receive now? 40+40+40+120=240 Essentia, and with this I buy 3/4 of 50% of a T6 class catalyst. Since 3/4 is notoriously larger than 3/5, there hasn't been any nerf. Simply put, the 100:35 exchange was generous, but only as a one-off; the real exchange, considering the value of the items in the two stores, should have been 100:16. This is speaking of T6 class catalysts. Just look at other items: in the BG store, a T3 alpha costs 1400 BG tokens and in Essentia 390, so the ratio would be 140:39.In this case, the situation is different because 140 over 39 equals about 3.6, which is much smaller than 100 over 16 (6.25), even if it is larger than 100 over 35 (2.85). In this instance, there is definitely a nerf, and a fairly substantial one at that. Before, with 1200 BG tokens I could get 6/7 (0.85) of a T3 Alpha; now, with 240 Essentia, I get 24/39 (0.61), which is certainly a nerf. We should reason this way instead of making a simple proportion starting from the 100:35 exchange rate, which is very advantageous and not realistic compared to the prices in the two stores. In reality, things should be read differently: some items, like T3 Alpha or T6 Basic, are more expensive now in relation to the effort made in BG, while T6 Class catalysts are cheaper. If anyone wants to make more accurate comparisons, they are welcome to do so; it would just take some time.
Now let's consider T4 Alphas: in the BG store, with 1400 tokens you could get 2850 shards, while with 480 Essentia you get 5700 shards, meaning it would take 2800 tokens to get the Essentia equivalent of 5700 T4 Alpha shards. The ratio would be 2800/480, which is 5.83; in this case as well, there hasn't been any nerf because 1200/480 equals 2.5, so it seems like a nice advantage. To be more explicit, with 1200 tokens I would have gotten 1200/1400 (6/7) of 2850 T4 Alpha shards, while now with 240 Essentia I get exactly 1/2 of 5700 T4 shards. Ultimately, by completing all the missions for the two days, I previously got 6/7 of 2850 shards, whereas now I get the full 2850 shards. Another small gain.
