There's also the other obvious point that the gap won't be closed by adding an Arena. More Champs, more Points.
Let´s say that I don´t have a 5* Cable and he would become the basic champion of arena. Why would those who already have a gigantic roster (thus very likely have a 5* Cable) go for him in the arena? For 20 dupe levels on a champion they´re going to use in arena only? Meanwhile I could go for him, get him to R2 or R3 and use him in the 5* featured arena. And at the same time also get some 5* and/or 6* shards which help my roster grow even more.
Dude.... I said I agreed that a 5* Basic would be foreseeable. Lol. I said the game isn't ready for a 6* Arena yet.
I proposed that the 6* arena would be gated for only Cav players. I don't see a single reason that the game wouldn't be ready for that considering Cav crystals.
A 6* arena wouldn't do much good for anyone but the people who are already spending loads on the game. They have the rosters already to spend less on refreshes than they already are on cav crystals and get every featured 6*.
You honestly think that all Cav players are like COWhale and dropping thousands on crystals?
Nope but I know for a fact that a f2p has zero chance of even keeping up with me in arena if I don't want them to let alone some of the other spenders in game
So you're assuming the 6* arena won't have milestones or rank rewards outside of those who get the champion?
I'm just saying that we already have people pretty upset with the advantage that spenders have in the game. A 6* arena just gives us yet another one bc they're really the only people who are going to be getting champs from it in my opinion.
It's still only one 6* every 3 days. If a spender wants that can easily get 6* at a faster rate by just popping some cav crystals. It's not going to make me upset, and would probably offer some more rewarding milestones than the current 5* arena does.
6*s from cavs aren't near as common as forum posts and you tube compilations would have you think. It's a very expensive and unreliable method of obtaining them actually
1 6* every 3 days is far more frequent than I get them currently. I opened far more than 100 crystals just to get sunspot as a 5* once and got zero 6*s. There's a reason I did the grind to awaken him
There aren't enough people who are Cavalier to open one specifically for them. Not yet. Also, the game just isn't at that point yet. Could see one down the road, but adding an Arena isn't something you do without a large amount of forethought.

How do you know how many people are cavalier?
Considering how new the Title is, the amount of people who have developed enough Rosters for it, and the Titles I've seen in-game, I'd say I have a general idea. There's a tendency for Players to think everyone is where they're at sometimes. There are many demographics in the game. Arenas are open to anyone in your Bracket. Those numbers all affect the Grind. You need enough people in it to make it reasonable. Unless it's an Arena like Road to a Million.

Whats the number you guess? I'd say there is at least 2500 people cavalier.

I think it is significantly higher than that. Maybe closer to 5000. Probably below 10k, but almost certainly higher than 3000. When I sample profiles for players in the top 100 alliances by rating, nearly all of them have Cavalier titles. It isn't 100%, but I found only a few. I can't see alliances below 100 directly, but since the #100 alliance was overwhelmingly Cavalier, I have to assume this extends below 100 for at least a ways. But when you reach alliances below 20 million rating or so, it seems Cavalier players start to thin out.
Note: I'm not making any direct assumptions about alliance rating itself: I'm just operating within the limitations of what the game will show in the interface; I'm not going to use "other methods" to data collect this info.
The other relevant question is what percentage of them are significant arena grinders. There's no direct way to know that, but if I use PvP fights as a rough estimate and look at players with more than 100k fights, about a third of the Cavalier players I looked at had at least that many.
So, with really big error bars, I think there's between 3k and 10k Cavalier players, and maybe 1k to 3k of them currently grind arena more than incidentally. I think an important threshold for arena viability (not when we should have it necessarily, but when it at least becomes viable) is to consider what the 10% rank cutoff would hypothetically be. If you buy my guestimates, that mark would be somewhere between 100 and 300 players assuming very high participation percentages, granted with large error bars. That seems too small for the arena to really make sense at the low end. At the high end, it starts to become less ridiculously small, but I think it needs to be higher than that to be sustainable. These numbers would look much more reasonable in my opinion if they were about three times higher.
