Side Quest Crystals

Can we steer clear of RNG-based Crystals in these Side Quests? Undoubtedly, people are going to say they enjoyed it because they had good pulls, but you have an experience where some people have an enjoyable experience and get some good things, and others come up with very little and get to watch other people enjoy it. I'm aware that's how the Crystals work. It's just too much RNG when it's already in most other aspects. Obviously I'm disappointed with what I've pulled, but I'm probably not the only person with a similar experience. I just had 17 tries and came up with very little. I'd rather have an Event that gives less and more usefulness than an RNG-based Event that leaves you feeling like you don't even want to bother playing.

17 Crystals, nothing higher than a 4*. Meanwhile people are pulling 5*s and 6*s all over. Cavalier Crystals should never be the sole focus of an Event. Not with the odds those Crystals give. I just wasted a month's worth of Side Quest for nothing that can help me besides the few Rewards for Completion and Exploration. Now I get a month of disappointment from seeing other people enjoy it. That's not really an ideal experience or goal from an Event.

We get to choose our target, but we don't get to choose whether it lands on something we can't use. 17 outcomes that do nothing for me is not an enjoyable experience. If I wanted to risk the chance at a 3*, I'd buy them.

All 3*s and 4*s. **** crystals for me.

Yeah, I got some pretty trash luck as well. Luckily I managed to pull 5* imortal abomination as my only 5* from those (all the others were 3-4*).

I do not think it's a good idea to have this much rng is a side event quest, there's usually some (with what 5*/6* you pull) but this whole event is completly rng where you might get only 3*.
There should have been maybe a 5* or 6* crystal for a certain price in the holiday store as well

I personally found it quite fun, as events like these are the only times I’ll open Cavs. Granted my pulls weren’t the best (a few nice-to-have dupes on 2020 champs I already own), but I still had a lot of fun opening them, and it was a good way to start rebuilding my ISO stash after my Cyber rankups.

I think in the midst of these crystals, it’s also easy to overlook how much gold was contained in the Side Event quest rewards. Always handy.

I sympathise with that sentiment, but in reality we still have a very busy month of new content ahead - anniversary calendars, seasonal gifts, special arenas, Halls of Healing/Fortune/Glory, and of course the greatly anticipated release of Book 2 and Variant 6. The Mulaney challenge was also a really fun and surprising addition, with more great rewards up for grabs.

Even if you didn’t have an “ideal” experience with the Side Event, I’m sure at some point this month you’ll be able to grab some resources or a champ or two that’ll you be happy with. It won’t necessarily be a “month of disappointment”.

I would have somewhat agreed was it not for all the other content that is coming out this month. You do get some garanteed rewards in this quest aswell in the form of catalysts and a ton of gold.
Sure I was lucky with my pulls since I got a 5* Torch, the only horsemen I still had to get. But other than that. There are plenty of other rewards in this quest. It was very very easy for a cavalier level quest. And there is another 'side' quest aswell that has some great rewards.
I understand they went this route. You can select a crystal that only contains 24 champs or so. It actually are very amazing crystals that normally cost 300 units or a ton of money.

I’ve opened 8 2020 cav crystals so far. 5 3*s and 3 4*s.
I’m happy I at least pulled a 4* Spider Ham. I r3ed him for fun

No. I want guaranteed rewards. When you open 6* crystal or 5* crystal you will get a 6* or 5*.
I only got one 4* and rest 3*s. Did master+ epic 100%. And few paths in Legendary. Not worth it.
Congrats to those who got lucky.

Its great. For me, who almost never opens cavs, its great basic rewards replacement, we don't see cavs really often for free, and you get to choose year of release? That means you have a shot at like 50% god tier or above, at least in last 2 crystals.
You'd want guaranteed rewards, you'd pull 6* Moon Knight and there would be still reason to get upset. If you count with %s, you have almost 30% chance to pull 6* and about 3 5*, from only one side quest, and you have (kinda) privilige to choose pool.
Almost everything in this game revolves around RNG

Have to agree. I've never been a fan of RNG based rewards.

Yeah, I hate this SQ so far cuz I've gotten only 3 and 4* out of 15 Cavs. I would much rather get like 25k 5* sharks and like 4k 6* shards to at least have a guaranteed star level. This SQ is a bust so far for me.

But Act 7 and Variant 6 is permanent content, and the rewards that we get in the side EQ shouldn't be affected by them. Last month we got 5500 6 shards. This month we get 500 6* shards. From the cavalier crystals I got 14 3* and 4 4*. So I basically lost 5K 6* shards. We also get 6% T5CC less than last month.

The type of rewards for this month is beyond terrible

And again the rewards from the celebrity challenge should be on top of the rewards from the side EQ. They shouldn't remove rewards from the side EQ

Not every side event is created equal. Some are better, some aren’t.

You're literally just reinforcing what OP said about people are going to disagree with his point if they get good pulls, it's purely biasness on your end that you think this event is good because you got a good pull, imagine that same image but it's 5 4*s and 5 3*s, that's all you get from the entire side event. Enjoy. He's not wrong, this much RNG in a side quest is not a good thing. I personally pulled nothing but 4* or lower in 15 crystals. My roster is fine so it is what it is, but this has the potential to make or break a newer account depending on pulls. It's too much RNG, plain and simple.
