Which part of Odin's kit do you think needs immediate attention?

Hey all,

We were all looking forward to Odin joining the contest, and it's safe to say we were all let down. Which aspect of his kit would you target specifically?

Cheers.

It’s the Odinsleep mechanic for me. When I first read his champion spotlight, I thought the mechanic worked so that he started with two fury and armor buffs. Then if you benched him for one fight, he’d get one of each back and if you benched him for two he’d get them both back. That made him a far more interesting character for me because it meant that the peak was very high for him after sitting out two fights.

That being said, I don’t like the idea of a champion that you have to not use. Listening to Kabam Broccoli talk about Hercules design plans, saying that he is a champion that should be in the hands of players so they can actually play him and have fun, made me realize how lacking that is in Odin. What fun is a character that you just straight up can’t use half the time? It’s a different situation than Apocalypse’s signature ability because he gets healing, not core damage output, from sitting out. If necessary, you can always toss a potion into Apoc if he needs health before a fight. But you can’t make up for Odin having only 50% attack that way.

I don’t think the solution should be locked behind his sig ability. The sig could enhance the benefits of it or whatever, but having a character in this state is just not fun.

I'll admit I'm not super informed on Odin, but from what I've gathered, his synergies and prefights make some other champions insane. Maybe he should stay underwhelming as a champ himself if he brings that much to the team.

IMO, His Odinsleep in my opinion isn’t so annoying. It does stop being able to use him to solo a single path but using multiple champs is fine and pretty commonplace thing to do if you need several different counters.

Utility is a piece severely lacking with no debuffs or immunities. His largest pieces of utility come from being able to boost other characters and his true strike buff. Being the all father he has gone against Surtur, held Mjolnir, and fought ice giants so I would give him Incinerate, Coldsnap and Frostbite, and Shock Immunity.

In terms of Debuffs, armor break off heavy with a system similar to his energize ability . And maybe Armor Shatter off sp 2 or 3 similar to Medusa’s armor shatter.

If he's pretty crazy OP for every alternate matchup, then Odin Sleep won't bother me as much. However, utility decides what he can take. He doesn't even work well for generic matchups which anyone can do.

Realistically he needs some immunities and a fix to the Odin sleep mechanic to every become viable. His kit in general fails to push the needle very high. They won’t make him good enough to make the majority of rosters that are well developed with what they designed him to do.

Right now both the damage and lack of immunity make him an average to slightly above average champion in his class at best even with Odin sleep. Unfortunately the game is to old that an average to slightly above champ for most means bench warmer except for the rare instance or having fun. If you aren’t huge damage or solid damage with a strong level of utility then you can’t make the cut anymore for the most part to me.

The simplest way to deal with Odinsleep is letting it be a regen like Apoc's sig. It doesn't reward the player, but it saves them from their screwups.

His synergies... need some work. Some are laughably pointless while another turns Hela into big yellow youtube-fodder.

The vault, is honestly kinda disappointing. Sure it's absolutely incredible for buffed up and it helps Ghost a ton, but it doesn't have that wow factor in and of itself.

I like many of the thoughts behind Odin's design, but it feels like they took something cool, chopped off most of the cool bits, and then presented the mangled husk.

Somebody get this man a Nobel prize

Odin is genuinely the worst champ ever releases in this game. To be in such a meta and be this bad and be this hyped, holy cow you've got to be horrid

If they nerf any one of the synergies, it is only proof Kabam just pasted some text on Odin and called it "Odin's abilities" without actually testing anything

Mcdonalds you are the Gods from which Doom siphons his incredible power
I thought that was science? ಠ_ಠ

I guess option 3... although I'd like for his utility to be a bit more uncommon. I wouldn't really mind having that dumb Odinsleep mechanic if he had unique utility, especially since that would make him a specialist who you most likely wouldn't repeatedly be using for fights anyways.

I wouldn’t mind his Odin sleep and even keeping most of his core mechanics. The lite utility and sleep just needs to be worth it. If they juiced up his damage(base stats which would help his non sleep fight) all his buffs should make each element insane not just bring it up to normal.

None was not an option. I’m cool with him as is. Been playing with my 3* and since I alternate a lot of fights anyway, it feels pretty natural, feels like selecting when to use human torch pre fight or when to heal apoc .

I like the idea of champs having certain abilities to them and somewhat of a strategy built in. Airwalker takes two fights to ramp up and he is a beast. But I can get why you feel he needs more .

I do think there needs to be a “none” option.

I think absolutely all of Odin's problems could be solved by synergies, if he was conceived as a team player, then he had to do synergies in the manner of the Fantastic Four.
Yes, for example, you would have to take some Loki to your team, but at the same time Odin himself would receive some very decent bonus, and if you assembled a completely Asgardian team, Odin would become a champion who can clear the roads alone.
Now the picture looks like this:
You should take on a team of champions who almost completely repeat the abilities of Odin, Heimdall for example - there is not really any variety in abilities.
Angela makes the picture a little better, because she has abilities that are not standard for cosmic champion, but if it had not been updated, it would have been horror at all.
