Kabam/MCOC appreciation post

MysterioMysterio Member Posts: 1,105 ★★★★
I just wanna take a quick moment to appriciate the current state of MCOC and the people at Kabam that made this all possible.
This game is, IMO, in a great state right now!
-Champions buffed monthly (althought not the ones I own as a 6*)
-Content is generally speaking a lot of fun
-Forums, I can't imagine it being easy working for a game. For every change in the game no matter how great someone will inform you that YOU did it wrong. Some people will hate on people that work on a game for no real reason. And I just wanted to take this moment to say a couple of things to Kabam:
-We love you (atleast I do, in a friendship way)
-You guys/gals have done a great job with the game so far and I can't wait for more to come from you all.
-The new champions always look so fricking cool!
-The buffs, while some lesser, are very much welcomed (Consider me for one aswell ;D)
-I hope you all have a great day, this includes the none Kabam people reading this!

Much love from me and the community for all your efforts so far and the ones yet to come.

As for the community reading this, bless your next 6* crystal so you all may recieve a version of me, the great Mysterio!

Yea they have done a lot of good stuff recently.

I appreciate how we alert them to bugs instantly and they don't acknowledge them for days and wait for AQ to start with them in game. I also appreciate how AQ is apparently something that can't be stopped once it starts as I can only imagine the implications to the universe if that were to happen. If there are massive bugs going on that made you even contemplate stopping the war season short why would you let AQ even start?

Lol it's not that simple, AQ quest is a whole series, a set program, a chain from 1 to 5. Think simple like computer, you can't turn off by press power button, you must shutdown by the program aka shut down, if you interrupt by power button, it'll mess the rotation and damage computer.

Hey, if you wanna run a company and figure out how hard it is to run and stop events with bugs causing issues regarding said event, feel free. I'm sure it'll be very easy, since you clearly understand how it works.
While I may not be a Tech Lead at a big mobile gaming company neither are you lol. I would say that they should at the very least divert more resources to bugs as clearly not enough are going there. Whatever the number of peop;e they have working on bugs and update QA is simply not enough. There are some bugs that literally have been around for a year plus, you can't possibly think that's fine. It's one thing to be OK with bugs in a game as that kind of thing happens but when you have a $650 deal (total 4th of July offers) I'd expect better things. It's not like the forums were flooded with the parry and controls issue bug reports minutes before AQ, this was reported days ago and the response came minutes before AQ which is disheartening.

    1) Omega red constantly being broken for like years now
    2) Fury persistent charge being broken every other month
    3) AQ not being able to be stopped once it starts? If that is a huge technical hurdle in a game where this many bugs exist I'd like to think I'd devote some resources to getting that sorted instead of using it as an excuse every time something happens that should lead to AQ being postponed.

let's see what else, oh yea I'd be more truthful about adjusting parry timing and frame data because that is 100% what happened here. There's almost always a minor tweak to parry and timing that we notice from time to time but obviously nothing this egregious. Any coincidence hercules is being introduced and the bug appeared? Personally I don't think so and wouldn't be surprised if they're tied together.
What do you think project Genesis is? They are planning to spend a lot of money overhauling the behind-the-scenes stuff including the software, the UI and the servers but you can't just knock that out in a weekend like you would cleaning out your garage, especially if the business you're running out of your garage is still operating 24 hrs a day.

For the most part, I've loved what Kabam has done lately. Carina's Challenges and SOP have been awesome. I do think some of Carina's Challenges missed the mark. It's fine to demand resource use to get the rewards, but at least make it fun. SL in LOL - not fun. 3* Cyc against the collector - not fun. But most of them have been enjoyable.

I know bugs will happen. Shutting down AW was the right call. Compensation was the right call. But regardless of champs potentially being stuck, I do think AQ should have been shut down. I understand the arguments against it, but I do not agree with it.

I played many games and left but This game is something special.
This game runs 24hrs a day and has progressed a lot, so sometimes root cause of bugs may not be identified.
I appreciate Kabam as they listen to the community and they do care about us.
So just keep patience and give them time to resolve the issue.

I wholeheartedly agree. Even when I've quit so many other games, something about this game makes it all worth it and that's not even including all the friends I've made around the world in my alliance.

Would trade my Sig 40 Cyclops with you then take that Mysterio to rank 3, if you're interested in such a deal...

There are some bugs that literally have been around for a year plus, you can't possibly think that's fine.

Windows Update has core bugs that have been around since the 90s, some of which cause systems to become completely unusable. Do you think the problem is Microsoft needs to hire more people? And Microsoft makes about as much money every day as MCOC makes in a year.

I don't like bugs and I complain about bugs every day. But I've also been reporting bugs to software vendors for over thirty years: if you pick a random software vendor by throwing a dart at a board, I have a better than 50/50 chance of being able to point out a critical software bug or flaw worse than anything that has ever appeared before in MCOC, that the vendor was unable to resolve in a timely fashion, or even was *ever* able to resolve to the present day.

I found a bug a few years ago that would cause some of our storage servers to fail every two months, and not long afterwards I discovered that the same exact bug was affecting the flight systems of actual production aircraft.

There's no excuse for buggy software, and software vendors need to be way more diligent in general, but anyone saying that MCOC has an inordinate number of catastrophic bugs is living in a fantasy world where they are simply unaware of how software fails to works in the real world. I suspect most of them would be too afraid to leave the house in the morning if they knew the reality of software integrity.

I was waiting for "end of sarcasm" punchline somewhere... I guess there are people that still enjoy it. Sober for about a month now and no plans to install it again. Come to forums to see fine job Kabam's doing to keep the game exciting.

The content of late has been top drawer.

The parry bug with the latest version is a bit of kicker but they have handled it well so far.

Fingers crossed they improve alliance war sooner rather than later.

Huh? I’m not saying I don’t like Mysterio; I use him plenty. I just don’t want to be “blessed” with a whole 6* crystal spent on a second shorter cooldown for CG generation

    I won't take it personal...
