If he is half as good as Mag's
    I'll rank 2 my Groot

    It's here, Dr Zola: https://playcontestofchampions.com/champion-spotlight-karnak/

He looks quite a bit better - a fair bit more damage; reasonably rewarding if you can keep knocking the opponent down...

    Well
I'll wait till I see gameplay to judge

    @DrZola
I think your wish was granted.

He looks like he will get a lot of use in the future.
Definitely better than the Nebula buff.
Looks like one the better buffs they have done.

    I’m intrigued.

Need to read more closely. But he has some neat features (power from striking block) and a long True Strike.

I’d like to see more immunity or shrug abilities.

Have to play him. But I’m fairly excited he’s a useful champ at long last.

Even I'd like to see some shrugging off abilities. Also I have a question related to how he interacts with poison. Is he immune or resistant to it (Can he get WP healing if it's a resistance)?

I'm happy that they made the True Strike much more sustainable too! He has got some decent utility for sure. Excited to see buffed gameplay.

He gets Willpower healing from poisons, yeah. He's resistant, which makes him heal more than the damage he takes. He's always had this ability.

He definitely looks much improved from his current state, but doesn't look like he has anything new in terms of utility except for critting through block.

Buffed, absolutely. Will I use him over my other champs? Probably not. We'll see.

It’s extremely niche, but he’s going to be a monster for invade. He has two different 50% block proficiency reduction abilities, can crit through block, and gain power through block. He’ll work wonders.

That also makes him a good Thing counter, a viable Peni Parker option (since you want to be hitting hard into her block to get rid of her Sync mechanic), a viable option for Do You Bleed? without actually using bleed, and several other nodes/opponents that call for you to hit into block.

It’s incredibly niche and wonky, but unique utility will always find its place in this game. And his damage has potential, just have to wait and see on that one.

Peni Parker powerlocks opponents who are hitting into her block, I'm afraid. Nice other thoughts, though.

Hey @Cat_Murdock do you mind if we put your Karnak Before/After infographic up in one of these threads? It’s pretty useful for comparison.

She power burns if her sync shield is active, the harder you hit into block, the faster it will fall. A few crits into block especially with the disorient will shut down the sync shield

Is it just me, or is his crit rating boost from focus lower than it was beforehand?

I like it. And any opportunity to close the gap with the Inhumans, the better! I don't want Medusa doing all the hard work and I don't want Black Bolt that always be relying on a monkey in order to shine

Overall, I’m not really sure about this buff. Granted, there was really nowhere to go but up with this buff, but I’m not really sure they went as far as they could have. The buff looks fairly decent on paper, but for an overhaul, it seems fairly light on actual new abilities. I think the one thing that’s kind of throwing me off a bit is the way he extends his fury and true strike passives. In order to do so, he needs to knock the opponent down, but unless it’s with a special attack or by heavy countering specials and heavies, he’s going to lose focus charges. It’s something that can’t be judged until we see some gameplay, but to me it feels like a mechanic that’ll basically make or break him depending on how it plays in hand, at least for me anyways.

When I look at Skill, I have a hard time seeing Karnak as a superior champ to probably 10-12 of the existing Skill champs. That group could get smaller after seeing some gameplay, but I cannot imagine he outstrips champs like Shang, Nick, Aegon, Elsa, Falcon, Stealth Spidey, Kingpin or MoleMan.

Whether he is more useful than champs like Blade, OG BP, Jabari, BWDO, Killmonger, Hit Monkey and Crossbones is also up for grabs.

What’s unclear is how situationally good he is. Only gameplay will reveal that.

I may be missing others champs, but I would definitely say on paper he’s preferable to Elektra, Moon Knight, DDHK, AV, CWBP, Squirrel Girl, and probably Korg and WS.

Since they reduced the Sp3 Passive by 10 Seconds, it would've been nice if it was paused when the Enemy was Knocked Down like the other Abilities. (Or a way to refresh it)

Good God, I didn't know how terrible his prestige currently is. That was good for a laugh.

I'm still optimistic about his buff. It looks like he fills a niche, though there are some definite kinks in his kit. Stuff that just doesn't flow well.

His sig is very important to his value imo, so it'll be interesting to see how it scales. Definitely not dumping my 6* stones into this guy, after all.

Actually, Moon Knight does. And I omitted Ronin and Taskmaster, both of whom sport the hoodie look.

But no one wears it as well as Karnak.
