I did completion of chapter 1 and as I said earlier before the release, I stand with my previous comments. 1)Tag system is time consuming in filter selection process. 2) Choices between champs is more restrictive. And if you don't own a solid or good champ then you're messed up 3) comparing to previous boss fights, this nodes give to liberty to fight boss on good terms but it's very niche. You can ramp up only 1 or 2 champ cuz you don't wanna lose charges quickly. Rather bringing boss counter we have to decide path clearer unlike last month's where you can still survive the paths with 1 or 2 champ and can focus on boss with full capacity. Which gave better control to players no matter how much hard nodes were on boss( here difficulty scaling is high and only few or veterans cavs or tb players enjoyed those fights)
4) Some themes are total useless to attackers meanwhile defenders can punish you good. Simple example:- How many buffs can HT hold if you don't have Odin.
5) Some champs don't fit in any tag and players are totally missing out the benefit due to punishment defender can inflict ( in my previous comment in this post , I told how G2099 was useful even in cross class chapters but now she can not be used in unblock theme or power gain scenario if not ramped up)
6) some of the tag are so niche, it collides with AQ & AW timing in terms of Champ selection. For example: From Thanos Army , Corvus is busy in Aq so whom I would should I bring; Ebony maw, cull or proxima where 3 of them fall short of individual shortcomings like one have op damage with glass chin, meanwhile one has to fight long whereas one dude have buffed 2 or 3 times and still don't have good special and base damage
I have like 10 R3 champs, 5 or 6 r2 and more than 20 r5s. So it's safe to say that I have fair roster for TB. I dont want free pie on my table. Yes cav Eq were easy but they were improving. And last month felt like good dye to mini bosses which made fight more spicy. I supported in increase of Cav difficulty. But this month feels like niche and too much time consuming. I'm not saying that it's totally bad idea but it's too restrictive when we compare the buff we get and punishment if don't have required Tag champ. It feel like the nodes half of the time don't match entire or half of the arsenal of TAG champs rather 1 or 2 champs benefit. Plus in game issues are cherry on top.
Guys, I'm really trying hard to find where it says that you have to use the tagged champions if you don't want to. But I can't, cause it's optional. As with any month prior to this. If you happen to have champs from a certain group ranked already..great! Bring them. Whether it's 1, 2... 5. It's completely optional. Then, just fill in the rest of your team with whomever are your strongest favorite champs that can deal with whatever path or boss you're up against. You don't need a whole team of the selected group.
In some cases.. I brought a whole team of tagged champs. In others, I brought 2 or 3 and filled in the rest of the slots with OP lane clearers or boss killers to use as back up in case the tagged champs didn't work out. So far, they have, but I had them just in case.
This is true but having it the other way was fun and enjoyable to us players who struggle with all these nodes. This was the enjoyable content we had to look forward to and now it was taken away from us. I don’t even want to play the game. I already completed everything I can unfortunately.
For sure, I can't speak for anyone else. If folks are not enjoying it, they're not enjoying it. Just trying to point this out cause I kept hearing things like: "force us to bring.." and "cannot use the champs I want..". And I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. I'm just trying to keep an open mind because it's been less than 24 hours.
Some of the tagged champions that I've used so far have been:
Hyperion She-hulk Scarlet Witch (both) Luke Cage Medusa Red Hulk Sym Supreme Venom HB BWDO Cap IW
And that's just the first 4 quests. There's many others I didn't use. These aren't niche characters. Many people already have them ranked because they are good. And iirc, many of these tagged champions (including the ones I have listed and not listed) are the same champions that are good in the class based versions too?
Like I said, I understand people don't like it. I no have argument with that. Just wondering if there's a chance that we just haven't given it enough time to get used to it (like any other change to the EQ).
I have yet to pull Capiw, Hype ,Witch,And bit hesitation to rank my undupe Medusa
Wrote this elsewhere.. most people looked forward to the new cav EQ as some fun (see actually useful champs like vulture, Angela, Luke, manthing dish out cgr levels of nutty damage) with a challenging boss. Now it's turgidly long fights on the lane, which are boring.
The fun has stopped.
@Kabam Miike you really need to have this acknowledged.
The entire game is built on classes, class typical abilities and their use in EQ, AQ, Acts and AW.
This tag design is trying to encourage use of champions that have no use outside of this mode and has boosts that offer no appreciable gain. I look forward to the cav EQ story and challenge, even when it looks hard.
This just looks like work and not only that, but it also makes a mockery of the rationale for rank ups for the last 2-3 years:
What's the skill set of mercenary? Avengers? Sinister six? What value do I have in ranking someone for those tags outside of variants and this fail of an attempt?
You do realise that if we even consider ranking up for tags, that we are ALWAYS thinking which of the above class areas they fall into? No one is ranking for tags. No one.
However...
If tags are now going to be core gate mechanics, you need to tell the community NOW and clarify on what basis the gates will exist and what the tag development and advantages are going to be. We can adapt for the long term, if this will be consistent.
If it is not, then along with others, I'm going to consider the future here. 40+ r2/3 or 5/65 and years playing this game under a set of loose rules and this tears it up.
That's fine, but you HAVE to be clear that this is a directional change and that ranking up on tags will be as meaningful as class rank up in future and explain the rules idea behind it.
With all the work done to simplify cav EQ and make it less time consuming by adjusting the bonuses from class based nodes throughout the year, you suddenly deicde to throw it all away and put in this tag based system. Don't fix what's not broken.
6 quests 6 classes were a perfect fit! The changes in the year kept it interesting but also maintained the class identity theme. Then you tear down the whole structure in December, why not just make an entire different difficulty?
I think the rewards for Cavalier difficulty are already outdated regardless of the change. The health pools are too high and now with the tags it is going to take even longer to finish.
I think Kabam should go back to class based. Far more options overall and will encourage us to use the champions who gain buffs. Unfortunately players on the same caliber as myself or higher typically don't complain on the forums so it is likely this is here to stay.
Great feedback. Keep in mind this is not a permanent change, and that these Buffs are being added to the Pool of Cavalier Buffs that we rotate through, and are not just sticking with these going forward. But I'm seeing some feedback here that I'll be sure to pass on to the team.
I would like to add as a suggestion: If you guys are going to add more rotations to the Pool of Cavalier Buffs, would it be possible to allow players to choose which Pool they would like to play that month?
That way, developing players can stick with a current Pool until they’re more developed for a different Pool. At the same time, if players want to branch out, they have the freedom to do so too.
Honestly cav eq is just so boring, last month was the first time I’ve ever not 100% a Cav EQ, probably won’t this month either, only playing the game for friends and AW now that’s it.
I've seen some people saying that nodes change and that new champions will be necessary to rank up in order to tackle them, and I largely agree with that. However, in the year(ish)'s time we've had Cav difficulty, the nodes have changed rather slowly. One here or there. This month, every node was changed at once. If these nodes had been introduced one after another over 6 months' of EQ, giving people ample time to adapt to them, I suspect that the uproar would have been significantly less severe. Now, a lot of people with smaller rosters got completely blindsided.
I'll do a more thoughtful write-up when I'm finished with this EQ, but even without having completed it, I can still say that I've never ragequit as many times as I have this month - nor have I ever run as many quests without the right counters.
There are good things among these changes. But there are also terrible things that I never want to see ever again.
At this point why not just make a thronebreaker difficulty and save some trouble?
I've been saying this since June and the same people disagreeing with me them are the same ones here, (demonz, he's everywhere where kabam faces criticism, and DNA)

Whilst I love the opportunity to dust off champs I don’t normally use, some of these node combinations are ridiculous. Unblockable + Dismay, the inability to reparry due greater bugs thus preventing the bonuses of playing by the rules?
The most annoying is the time you now have to spend to read all the nodes, understand them, go in your roster, filter the right champs out so you can build a team and do that again for each chapter. I can understand that for permanent content but not for monthly content. I just want to complete the monthly stuff in a reasonable amount of time.

Dr. Zola
I have 3.2 left to explore but until now I did all the quest with no item. I like this challenge.

Literally since June guys don't know why it's not a thing yet
This is just a cruel joke
Instead of relying on just 1 class, do the skill/mutant, science/mystic, or cosmic/tech? Or any 2-3 class combinations?
