Why no x-men tag? Is it because, there is plenty of summoner who rank up x-men most?
I would've said that it might be a lack of class diversity (iirc it's only Mutants, Unstoppable Colossus, Magik, Longshot and Phoenix?) but then Guardians of the Galaxy are a mediocre bunch of Techs and Cosmics... and Agent Venom
My biggest gripe with this change is now the excessive amount of taps needed before playing - you have to Preview, edit team, search for tag, add to team, repeat this tag search two more times (since total of three tags), and then finally you get to play.
I think the rewards for Cavalier difficulty are already outdated regardless of the change. The health pools are too high and now with the tags it is going to take even longer to finish.
I think Kabam should go back to class based. Far more options overall and will encourage us to use the champions who gain buffs. Unfortunately players on the same caliber as myself or higher typically don't complain on the forums so it is likely this is here to stay.
Great feedback. Keep in mind this is not a permanent change, and that these Buffs are being added to the Pool of Cavalier Buffs that we rotate through, and are not just sticking with these going forward. But I'm seeing some feedback here that I'll be sure to pass on to the team.
Soooo no comment on updating rewards...?
Heck even if you don't update the rewards, bring in thronebreaker difficulty!
I just wish someone at Kabam cared about whether their game was fun to play, rather than a grind that we have to get through so we can do it all over again in a month.
1. What's fun for you is not fun for me and vice versa. Game developers cannot directly make their games "fun." They can attempt to make them challenging, or easy, or intricate, or shallow, or puzzling. They cannot explicitly make them fun. Fun is subjective: players can find things fun or not fun. Games are not intrinsically fun or not fun.
2. Progressional games are *explicitly* about grinding. That's literally what they are about. They are explicitly targeted at people who want a sense of accomplishment progressing through effectively unlimited treadmills. They are for hikers, not sprinters.
There are lots of individual aspects of the game that can appeal to different players. Some people just want to collect champions, and if they set their sights reasonably it is possible to work to collect them all (even a casual player can set the goal of trying to collect all the champs of any rarity). Some people like the specific challenge of mastering the combat system. Some like to learn the game mechanics and ability sets to strategize the best counters for individual fights and maps. Some even like to manage resources and try to use them as efficiently as possible. But the two core elements of the game are the champion collection and the progression grind. The game devs could *trivially* make a game where everyone could just log in for a couple minutes and get a boat load of rewards for the month. The reason they don't do that is not because they are lazy or stingy, it is because no one would want to play a game like that, or rather not enough people would. There would be no sense of accomplishment, which would make the idea of progress in a progressional game meaningless.
Of course the developers care about whether their game is fun to play. We're all just here for entertainment. This is their livelihood. Whether they can eat and pay the rent depends on the game being something people want to play, and want to spend money on. If there was a way to just add fun to the game, they would add fun as a checklist item. But fun is not a thing you add to games. Fun is a judgment people make on the elements of the game. Fun is what people call basketball even though dribbling is stupid and running around between two posts is exhausting and throwing a ball around over and over is repetitive. 99% of the rules of basketball are not there to make the game fun, they are there to make the game fair and engaging. Fun is what happens when some people decide they like to play the game, not because the elements of the game are individually fun.
And when people don't like basketball? That doesn't mean basketball is broken. It means some people want that kind of activity, and some don't. That doesn't mean basketball is perfect: clearly the invention of the shot clock proves that there was a lot of improvement to be made with basketball. But you have to understand that some things aren't fun because there is a way to improve the game, by adding a shot clock, and some things aren't fun because you don't like them, but they are there for a reason, like not eliminating dribbling from the game just because some people think it is pointless.
I'll say this. I've been playing this game since 2016 and today's cavalier EQ with the new nodes is probably some of the least enjoyable gameplay I've ever experienced playing this game. It might be the continued gameplay issues on top of everything else but man it just wasn't fun trying out my first run in cavalier today.
I don't mind using new champs or having new challenging nodes, but I think the switch to tags really tightens the roster vs class nodes. Also the cross fight is quite annoying because you can really only ramp up one or two champs in the quest vs being able to jump in with any champ on your team and get the full benefits of the nodes.
Just really disappointed, I've been retired from alliance stuff for a while now and this might push me to actually put the game down. Or at least avoid monthly EQ, which sucks because I do look forward to the new ones every month. I hope this change doesn't stick, the class nodes were much more fun and just better gameplay than what came out today.
It is complete disappointment. I have second account, with not so many champions. In general, there are just 1-2 champs of each class ranked up on level 5* 4/55 and 6* 1/25. Previously I could complete cavalier quest. But with this filter by tags, I just do not have ranked champions with such tag. For the first quest I have only mr Fantastic 5* 2/35. So, has anybody thought about such players with limited roster? How then should I complete cavalier difficulty?
Although I have a fairly robust roster and probably enough 5/65, or 6R2, 6R3 first glance at the new node format and it’s just not for me. I’m dyslexic and when the content goes niche on the nodes/champs that are most suitable it takes ages to plan. This is just my own feedback, everyone else could love it. I’m going to give this month a miss. I do however really like this months SEQ.
Simply put together I think Kabam is making game more complicated. People simply wants to Play a game & enjoy it not want to read & see YouTuber videos to understand it like exam syllabus. Don't understand what they want us to do.
I think the rewards for Cavalier difficulty are already outdated regardless of the change. The health pools are too high and now with the tags it is going to take even longer to finish.

So after my first run: - lot specific tags (where it doesnt make sense to lvl up These specific champs for this content in comparison with rewards) - content takes so much More Time - Filter system is so bad that you have to pick only one Tag at time, change it und pick again.. than Go back in preview cause u forget one Tag, go back and so on.. takes More Time too
In my opinion absolute unnessecary change, doesnt make fun - why changing a Running system? Dont understand..
At this point why not just make a thronebreaker difficulty and save some trouble?
So changing from class to tags increases difficutly?
Inhuman, Defender and Thunderbolt tags apply to the second quest, I have R5 Quake and R3 6* Namor, other than that, 6* R1s. So I would have to agree with OP that it is more complicated and difficult. They're trying to encourage us to rank certain champs and change the tags every month. Same as with the new variant. Most restrictive so far with arguably the worst rewards when you scale for progression. It's not shocking that sales are down. Parry bugs have lasted months, they're trying to milk the player base with events that don't even offer improved rewards but are getting tougher.
You know I have been playing this game for 5+ years and I have to say..... It feels like Kabam has lost their grips with this game and it's playerbase. The EQ and Side EQ used to be fun, but now it feels like they have scaled the difficulty to ridiculous requirements etc but yet the same stale rewards .... Don't get me started about the bugs.... I'll keep playing the game because I love it but Kabam it's time you actually listen to the community or your game will continue to suffer (a.k.a you won't be making much money)
I think the rewards for Cavalier difficulty are already outdated regardless of the change. The health pools are too high and now with the tags it is going to take even longer to finish.

Kabam have created a game, where we have been ranking up champs for AW and AQ and for the last year, cav EQ and act 6/7 content.
That means certain top damage, utility or defensive annoyance champions, or those suited to making the 200k to 300k health pools in cav EQ less obnoxious, for temporary content.
This change is terrible. I've got to Luke, with average 70 hit fights on the lanes, with an all 5/65 / R2 team. On the easiest level.
On mercs/guardians where I have no one above r1 and is probably in the final two levels, I just have no interest in it. I don't want "the challenge" (there is act 7, 6 and variants for that) and I'm not going to rank champions for parameters which may change again in future.
And I have 40 5/65 or r2/3s and can take up 8 more. I feel really sorry for those with less depth.
I'd argue that this is the least "fun" change that kabam have made in quite some time and is as far from a pro player move as could be imagined.
That's a LOT of straw you are heaping up on our backs.
At this point why not just make a thronebreaker difficulty and save some trouble?
So changing from class to tags increases difficutly?
Yes, simply because with current tags, you have less options than before. The lowest amount of characters a class has is 33. The first tag in the very first mission already limits you to 21 champions. Which honestly sucks especially if you don't have a decent one in any category. You are much more likely to have evenly leveled classes as it makes sense in the game, but no one actually cares about those tags outside of special occasions like variants and the like. Simply put it is making the game more complicated and less accessible for no particular reason. Well, I know the reason, they want you to get more frustrated and spend more units.
The game nowadays just feels like a grind to me. A lot of my alliance mates have been skipping EQ exploration altogether. I think cav eq is in a desperate need of a reward ramp to keep these enticing and not just another monthly chore.
We’ve seen multiple changes to the event design (introduction of minibosses such as terrax innlast month and this months more restrictive tag buffs over class), so I think at least an announcement from the team to let their players know they’re looking into improving the rewards would be nice.
Definitely not having as much fun and it seems Kabam is slowly making everything more difficult EQ now and the sides have been much harder. I liked the class bonus. You could just jump right in and start kickin ass instead of just focus on one champ. SO much for diversity..
At this point why not just make a thronebreaker difficulty and save some trouble?
So changing from class to tags increases difficutly?
No it doesn't change the difficulty of the game. But, I am not sure what level u are, I am okay but not winning any records. These strange # are to encourage people to rank rubbish champions, that play no role in war, alliance quest or story quest. With resources so limited t5cc and t2b is it worth ranking up champs. Again poor comms by kabam there have been so many of these changes not communicated. You seem to have the ear of kabam how long are these # going to be in place 3 months 6 months? Regretfully I am thinking of giving this eq a miss the second quest I have no r5 5 star or r2 6 star champs to take What would u do?
I'll say this. I've been playing this game since 2016 and today's cavalier EQ with the new nodes is probably some of the least enjoyable gameplay I've ever experienced playing this game. Completely agree - it's almost now unplayable with the continuing parry/dex issue for iOS. I'm not going to waste time and revives on content that requires more steps, more taps, and roster development that is not uniform for most players. Please bring back the class nodes.
Me: 20+ rank 3 champs, 30 rank 2, lots of rank 5 5*s. 1. Just finding the champs to use that benefit from the node is cumbersome and time consuming. 2. To really benefit you need to use same champ for several fights, meaning other champs won’t get benefits. 3. Seems like Kabam wants us to rank up previously worthless champs under the assumption that they may now be valuable. They aren’t. 4. I considered EQ to be some of the funnest content. So far this isn’t fun. Just tiresome. 5. Rewards still suck.
This isn’t the first quest to try and make you use non-god tier heroes
Not the first certainly not the last
I'm fine with using non top meta options, but have you actually looked at the tagged champs? WHO RANKS THESE CHAMPIONS UP? Also kabam should really update tags like crossbones being a mercenary and professor x being an illuminati and a bunch of dimensional beings like annihilus I don't care how anyone tries to explain this, this is 100% a way for kabam to drain more units from players during cav eq completion/exploration
