My problem is that I actually use my gems when I get them because this hasn't existed before. I don't actually care about the 3*, 4*, and some of the 5* awakenings I've done, but I have done them because I have a limit on my resource stash and it *in the past* has been a waste to not use them. If I would have known even over the past couple months that I could potentially save up my stuff to actually trade it in for more relevant resources, I most definitely would have. I'm sure that this was probably not ready back in the Summer or anything, but for such a limited time event, it is a bit annoying. It would be nice to know if this will ever be brought back in the future so I would not waste my gems/catalysts on random champs in order to avoid overflow. A few of the deals are great, but this really seems only profitable for whales or really late in the game players (and that is coming from someone who has been TB since like January).
Y'all will really complain about anything won't you
Is this a complaint about people complaining ?
No, stating a fact.
Well it’s not hard to understand. You get thousands of people playing this game you can guarantee someone won’t be happy with whatever it is in question. Then we get you predictably cluttering up the forum moaning about any negative feedback as if it’s the same person that complains about everything. Have you really got nothing better to do?
I'm just baffled there isn't a 3-5* class gem trade in like the 6*. I'm stuck with 4 generics 5* (one off buying the crystal), 2 4* generics (one off buying a 5* class crystal), and I have 1 copy of an assorted range of awakening gems, I have enough total gems to get the 6* gem if RNG had fallen a bit kinder, but now I'm stuck with no way to trade in mt single copies of random gems.
I feel it's very odd to not have a 3-5* class trade in as well
Another thing that this makes me think is this: Kabam said in their gold boost announcement that "we want to encourage Players to stop hoarding their Crystals throughout the year waiting for these boosts, and open their Crystals whenever they need them."
Now maybe they just meant that about gold crystals, however I read that to mean in general. They want us to not hoard as much. But we have now had 2 events that incredibly, massively and totally benefit hoarders. Deadpool's gold store, and now this trade up.
So I'm not saying get rid of them, or they were a mistake, on the contrary they were absolutely fantastic events if you had enough resources. But all this does, is it says "If you want to be prepared for these sorts of offers, hoard all your materials because it could be gold today, or gems tomorrow. Or maybe next time it'll be ISO." Holding offers with unusual resources as the currency promotes holding onto as much of different items as you possibly can just in case the next huge store uses Arena Boosts to get a champion selector.
Kabam saying we don't want you to hoard, but here's a great event that you'll likely only be able to benefit from if you hoard is like them throwing a coin up and yelling heads and tails.
How the hell you going to set up a trade in store that allows you to get the same thing you just traded in. Been sitting on a stupid mystic gem for a year, trade it in and get a mystic now I'm stuck. How is that even possible! What monkey thought it was a good idea to keep the same class in the crystal you just traded? There are so many reason you apes make people walk away from the game. You make it so hard to want to support you. Thank god Im retiring with another useless gem. You wonder why people cheat in this game, it's cause yall don't give a damn about anything for the players. For christ sake I was looking for just one reason to continue this 7 year journey, just one. You bring one of the OG content creators Dorky Dave on staff and we all thought the game would get better, in fact it got worse. You managed to tank the one good thing you had going for you. You can't even run an event without taking dump in the box and marking it quality. Thank you for making my choice so easy.
This trade in is awful. Who hoards that much for a 6* awakening gem? And they limit the paywall to get there. A 6* gem is the prize for act 6 exploration. They devalue content with BS like this. Bc of rng I’m 1-2 away from each class.
People complain about everything lol. The only bad deal is that 5 generic 5*AG for 1 6* AG. But I was still able to get three 5* AG for free, can’t complain about that. Plus then CC trade is great, free gold crystal upgrade, etc. it’s a good event, don’t complain just because you can’t get an easy 6* AG
Another 2 points (man, this is unbelievable!): 1- Who on his right mind, will trade FIVE class sig stones for ONE generic? Even if he's the high-flying-end game player and has, let's say, 6* tech sigs in overflow, he won't be needing a generic, simple because he PORBABLY be having all other classes in overflow too or close to it!
2- Why is there an RNG element in a trade in store in the first place? You trade to get the same thing? What's wrong with this game?
3- (ok, three things) We have celebration crystals that don't include 2021 champions? This is a 6-year celebration crystal with my math.
This trade in store is awful. So awful in fact that I am not even mad. The one for one class catalysts and the potions are amazing deals, I’ll give Kabam that, but the rest is just garbage.
Let’s take the 6* awakening gem for starters. It costs 5 5* generic awakening gems to get. For any player that has not explored all content and whom five stars are still viable, this makes no sense to invest in even if they happen to have all the gems. And what does Kabam value each 5* generic at…3 class. That is 15 class 5* awakening gems for ONE six star. I was hoping to trade in 1 for 1 class to generic or maybe 2 for 1, and 2 generic 5* for a 6*. I have never awakened a single 6* champion. I was hoping that this was the day that I could do that without spending money, but no.
What is everyone’s thoughts on this?
The store is primarily there to allow people to trade in stuff they don't really need for stuff they do need. It is not there for people to trade in lots of things they do need for one thing that is moderately more pretty. For any player for whom 5* AG gems are still valuable, Kabam doesn't want you trading them in for 6* awakening gems.
In other words, the stores are supposed to assist people with their progression, not incentivize leapfrogging progression.

I have 1.5k t3 crystals that I don't use. How is kabam helping with that?
I haven't quite worked through the math on this yet, but in order to get a 6* gem just from having backstock of lesser gems, I don't think it would be possible. You would have had to have so much in overflow, which no one would. I think they need to re-figure their math on this.
There is a bottle neck trading 4* generic for 5* gems. Seeing as you can only get five 5*gems from 4* generic and it takes 3 class to get one generic 5*, if you are extremely lucky at most you can get only 1 generic 5*.
This had to be yet another disappointing trade in store.
I have never really the trade in store because I feel like they just do things and value them at random vs actually thinking about it.
I was fine with trading do ag for the 3* and 4*, but…..3 for a generic 5* is where I lose my mind. The thing is i still value 5* ag pretty highly so it just seems all so scrambled.
After that the signature stones are even worse in my eyes.
I was holding out some excitement for this month…but damn I gotta learn to keep my expectations low lol
It’s cool. But unfortunately some people are gonna come up just short. One of my accounts has used gems that were expiring over the last 2 years simply because they were expiring…. And that account is 1 gem short, of course, so that’s kinda lame. But happy for those that get their gem and my other accounts.

It sounds like you don't need any help with saving T3 crystals.
How the hell you going to set up a trade in store that allows you to get the same thing you just traded in.
That one specifically is bonkers. Probably too late to fix it, but this is the one time when if someone calls that lazy implementation they'll get no argument from me.
Scanning through this thread it seems like the majority “trading” in a 6* class gem are just getting the same gem back. This can’t be the way it is intended to work. I pulled a mystic 6* gem from the 5* AG trade. Tried to trade it for a chance at mutant and got the mystic gem back, Another guy in the alliance did the same with tech.

Trade my every awakening gems but couldnt reach 5 generic gem.
Please reduce to 3

I’m ok otherwise. I got what I could afford.

Think I did 4 trades overall and I finished with skill and cosmic AG’s. Finally managed to awaken my Herc

Yes, it's expensive but worth it if you are lucky to get an AG for your desired champion.
