Such a terrible way to play this game. Let’s just make every super villain or super hero just as OP in this game as they are in the comics. I have a scarlet witch, should I be able to to go into the game and re-write reality to where I own every 6* at sig 200 rank 5? Better yet should I be able to increase my attack rating to whatever I want since I can alter reality?? If I use Knull against a symbiote can’t I just mind control him to stand there and do nothing till I win the fight? I have The mighty Hulk! I should destroy every fight with a single punch! The game doesn’t work that way for a reason…

Ok if I'm going to be honest, I thought that knull may have some mechanic or synergy that does an extra stun or something against symbiotes
He is a monster in the comics and movies. but here in the game.. he is useless. a limited edition champ with a donald duck power.
1.. Because this is a fighting game, and the champions cannot be based on the power levels exhibited in the source material because that would be unplayable.
2. Because this is a fighting game, and if Thanos was as powerful as his maximum power level exhibited in the source material players would never be able to beat him in the content, which is ridiculous.
3. Because in the fictional universe of the game, all champions are empowered with ISO-8 which is the life essence of a Celestial, which grants every champion cosmic level power, so their relative power levels aren't the same as their original Earth-616 power levels (the DC game Injustice uses a similar game fiction of Kyrptonian nanotechnology to explain how the Joker can beat up Supergirl).
4. Because in the fictional universe of the game, the Battlerealm is a pocket universe whose fundamental laws are governed by whomever controls it, and the rulers of Battlerealm have generally been beings who have tilted the laws of physics in ways to make fights on Battlerealm more competitive in general, which makes all of the most powerful beings tend to be less relatively powerful and vice versa.
5. Because Marvel says so. As an authorized licensed product, Kabam is ultimately overseen by Marvel in how they use Marvel's IP. If Marvel says Squirrel Girl can beat Thanos in the comics, then Squirrel Girl can beat Thanos in the comics. If Marvel says Thanos is a trophy champ that cannot simply beat everyone easily, then Thanos is a trophy champ that cannot simply beat everyone eaily.

How about Phoenix? One of the weakest mutants in game now. I think even Grandmaster become playable he won’t be great, as his toughness largely due to nodes setup.
He's like when SNK and Capcom would make those really early bosses playable and they super sucked. They weren't really meant to be playable, properly balanced, AND enjoyable to play. So he sucks and his abilities are sad. I'm still gonna need that 6 star Thanos tho.

That said, they could have made the playable version a bit better, even if a trophy champ.
