Any one having Gold Issues?

GrassKnucklesGrassKnuckles Member Posts: 1,950 ★★★★★
I went from 11 million to 6 million in 3 weeks and can't seem to find a way to build it back up even though I play the game quite often. It doesn't help that there is a total of only 100k gold in the side quest objectives and none in the rifts. Does anyone else see an issue with there being very little gold given out?

Personally no. I’ve just complete 7.4 done a load of rank ups and have 12m after this lot of level up. I know there isn’t a gold bonus anymore, but I still have about 12m in unopened gold crystals. I very rarely do arena. We get 40k gold per lane for Cavalier difficulty MEQ. I’d suggest maybe do cav difficulty every month or grind arena.

Is there any content that you haven't done? Old Variants, or something?

A run or two of Incursions will get you a little bit of gold and doesn't require questing energy. Or just do some arenas and also hope for some unit drops pre-spring cleaning/July 4th.

Play incursions. 132,000 each time it resets (every 4-5 days?). Another 420,000 from Sector 7 once a month and 470,000 from Sector 8 once a month (assuming you can get to zone 10). That's over 1.4 million gold a month by playing incursions once a week.

Honestly I think it’s because there’s none in the side quest this month which hasn’t happened in ages. Normally there’s a pretty decent chunk in the side quests. Wasn’t in last month or the month before we were able to get almost 9 million just from the side quest?

I went from 42 mill to 31 mill last week. Took a couple of 6*’s to rank 3 & my 1st to rank 4.
Haven’t seen any increase of my gold stash through my normal gameplay since then. However I’ve been saving my uncollected gold crystals since the last event where we had the 20% increase, so I should be able to replenish my stash if needed.

I've chewed through a load in the last couple months as I've been ranking up my 5*s and then taking 3*s to r4 whilst I wait to get the cats for the 5* rank-ups and I'm down to a million odd from over 5m earlier in the year.

I’m down to 200k. Probs the lowest I’ve ever been at in a long time. Not much gold left to collect in the game either

There are gigantic piles of gold being given out. It is just that it isn't being given out to everyone. Some activities generate a lot of gold, some generate less gold. Which activities you do, and how much, determines how much gold you end up earning.

Actually, how much gold a player possesses isn't directly related to how much they earn or how much they spend. It is related to the ratio between the gold they earn from the activities they do and the other resources they earn that cost gold to use. If you earn a lot of gold and also a lot of rank up materials, you can still spend all your gold. If you earn very little gold but also very little rank up resources, you could still have a ton of gold. It is the balance that is important.

The two biggest sources of gold are gold earned from battlechips in the arena (via arena crystals) and indirectly from champion duplication (duplication generates ISO, which both makes it easier to use the correct class ISO and allows you to sell excess ISO for gold). Activities that generate lots of champion duplicates, especially of 4* and higher, end up generating a lot of gold.

Incursions are another way to earn gold, and honestly the side quests that offer choices in rewards often have a lot of gold, but you have to decide to target gold and forgo other options that seem juicier but will potentially strand you with a ton of rank up resources and no way to use them if you don't balance carefully. That decision to pick the thing you need and not the thing you want is one that not everyone has the discipline to make.

Gold is very easy to get and arena grinding isnt even needed. You just have to optimize your playing.
There are a lot of gold crystals in the solo events. So, rank up champs only during level up event. You only play 15-20 rounds of arena a week? Do them during Arena Wins solo event. Hero use is on? Autoplay lower EQ difficulties (that also gets you units). You wanna do Cav EQ in big chunks at a time? Do it during EQ completion solo event. The 7h solo events also have gold crystals. Do as many as you can while you're doing the others (i.e Cosmic combat is on and also Hero use, use a Cosmic champ to autoplay stuff).
Staying net pozitive with your gold isnt that hard if you optimize your playing.

I went from 16 million to 100k within a week of 100% act 7 rewards.

This ALWAYS happens when there is a major reward newly released.

Check the previous “gold shortage” thread. Iirc it was after SOP rewards were given out.

    Now with Carina V2 + A7 Exploration, I’d say it’s pretty expected.

    (Sitting on 184m though. 😂)

I am always less than 1M gold because I have so many rank ups to do. I have tons of catalysts and rank up gems but barely any gold :(

Literally don’t understand how people have 100 mil gold

It’s easy when you’ve been stuck at a certain progressional level for a very very long time. Gold issues usually happen to people who rush content to get their champ roster pyramid pinnacle as high as possible, while ignoring the base.

(Like new Cavs avoiding ranking 5*s while waiting for the same champ as a 6*)

I've never been low on gold since the first ever gold realm. I've been running AQ almost entirely with gold for ages. Since I took a break from Map 8 to finish exploring act 7 my gold has been going up. I'm at 47.5 million. I'm also a very casual arena grinder. I've done 3.3 million in the featured and none in other areas. I know gold is an issue for many, I just don't understand how lol.

can't believe dna just said that champion acquisition is a big source of gold
  • ErcarretErcarret Member Posts: 3,035 ★★★★★
My stash of gold was pretty stable until 7.4 came out. When it did, I got several great champions in a row from the various rewards as well as a lot of rank-up resources. I took up a bunch of those champions in much quicker succession than I usually do, and now I'm down at around 6 million gold (which is roughly 50% of what I usually have most of the time).

I feel like my current position is kind of an outlier compared to where I'm usually at, simply because I just stopped pulling duds for a time. All of the champs I've taken from r1 to r3 this month have come from the past month's content. I will most likely land in a spot where my pulls become far less rank-worthy and I additionally start earning a whole lot less rank-up materials, which in turn will lead me to simply hoard gold again. I can't say that I've seen a general decline in gold acquisition. On the contrary, I really like the change to the gold crystals that Kabam made last year. I feel like it has really boosted my gold, or at least the feeling of earning that gold. Each opened crystal feels more significant nowadays.

yes i see the similar issue. was above 3 mil gold 2 weeks ago. Now i am only left with expiring rank up materials and 60 k gold

Same as pretty much everyone else. Before 7.4 was released, I was over 9 mil. gold and fell down to almost 3, after using most of the resources we got for completion. I'm slowly working my way back up (up to 4 mil at the moment).

The only solution I have found for Gold management is to focus entire periods (one or two months) from time to time, to building up Gold stash specifically, without ranking up any champions and selling all and any ISO I get from playing the game and dupes (I do own the vast majority of 4*s and most 5* in the game). It sounds harsh, but to me it feels unavoidable. I should add that I occasionally do arena, for both units and gold, but no Incursions.

Buy more crystals, dupe more champs, sell excess ISO.... has keep me over 30million in gold for a long time.....

More or less this. I only do strategic rankups now, mainly because my roster is developed for how I play. I rarely touch 5* rankups that require T4c because I know I’m not going to take a 5* to R5 (exceptions: rankup gems and when I pulled 5* Kitty and Peni, my last two R5 5*’s).

6* rankups are purely to fix a gap in my roster or to boost a synergy partner for one of my main attackers.

With gold from Act 7, EQ, dupes, and when absolutely necessary incursions, I really don’t ever run arena. Solo objectives that are easy (Hero Use, Level Up) give out decent amounts of gold as well.

After the PlatPool gold offer, I worried because my gold dipped to under 20M. I’m now constantly oscillating between 33-35M no matter what I do.

I realize I’m in rarified air. Not everyone can just stop ranking a 5* max sig Shang at R4 because he doesn’t want to waste cats and gold. But the answer to stockpiling gold is to do content and only rank strategically.
