I wonder if they will take away the unused tokens some of us still have left over from the last event. Or if this will be a new currency still rendering those old tokems obsolete.
A few of my alts are still sitting on some that I never got around to using.

It sounds like it'll be a new currency called Hexabadges. So, hopefully it won't be as complicated as last year's with the multiple different tokens, and it'll just be like multiple things cost varying amounts of Badges, so you still can't get everything, but the extra headache of having to wait for specific type of token is gone.
My main issue last year was the ease of forgetting to claim the objective, I think they've done a great job alleviating that by allowing 2 objectives max instead of 1.
It's been slightly disappointing how this has morphed from appreciating the summoners in an equal way to another pay-4-more pass. Yes you can get everything in the calendar for free, but the fact you can pay for extra adds more imbalance to the summoner population that already exists and removes the feel good part of the original calendars (imvho).
This is no longer SA. I wonder who thinks and approves of this stuff? Do they even have a QA
While I agree this type of event isn’t great, I’d like to clear up the misconception about QA real quick. QA are meant to be bug testers (again kind of laughable in it’s own right but that’s a different topic) and not game or system designers. A QA tester wouldn’t even be able to tell anyone that they thought an event like this is a bad idea because it would be out of their field to do so, and would be disregarded almost immediately.
I don't get why people are so put off by it. It's not that different. Claim a Calendar, or claim an Objective. All the same, really.
For me, it's the objectives aspect as well as the fact there is an option to pay for more items. To me, it was better when there was a progression calander and people claimed the items, now you have to do objectives and then pay like $20 to double them. The monetary part just makes it like all those other game events where you do tasks to collect items and ypu can pay to get the other side of those items too. Can't think of them name of those but yeah. Takes the appreciation out for me

They said that they'll fix the annoying part of it in this iteration so I'm hoping it will be better but I really hated it last year when the notification isn't working and claiming the rewards late will invalidate your objective for the next day. For 90+ days, there will be definitely a lot of days where I can't play the game and being on the other side of the world (Japan) makes the timing really annoying. I hated this event but if they said they have fixed the annoying aspects of it (along with the confusing and senseless tokens. There's only one series of rewards but they offered a lot of different extras at the beginning that confused a lot of people to the point of jeopardizing the event for them and not being able to receive the final set of big rewards), then I'll look forward to it.

The appreciation ( and I still won't call it that, and neither have they) is from the free Items we get. There's an option to get more if we pay. That's pretty much how the game works. I just don't see the difference between logging on and logging on and clicking a button. Just logging on to claim the Calendar isn't how the game is played. For that matter, it was 10 Fights, if memory serves. Those could be done on Auto in RTTL or any other easy aspect. I can understand the lack of grace days.

I'm honestly confused why this was brought back, when the original summoner appreciation calendar was much better received and felt like appreciation.
I know we can't change this it this year now, but Kabam can we please consider bringing the old format back and not this summer resort event.
Because it turned out that people could start up multiple alt accounts and log in every day earning a bunch of materials and primarily a bunch of units that could be held over until gift-giving to give themselves an edge. The current setup of the camp requires active participation on the account which tbf on two or three accounts, it's not that a big deal but when you're practically starting an entire Alliance amount of accounts may no longer feel worth the effort

edit: there will be
ETA: Yes, there is a Resort Pass thing that can be bought for "additional benefits"

@Kabam Jax can we get insight to this?

"CAMP" is an apt name for it, because it's certainly not summoner appreciation... it's bullsh(ut your mouth).
Why stick with the calendar that everyone loved... that would make so much sense.
