Omega Sentinel hype

I’ve been testing out different champs against winter soldier to see who can get it done in under 100 hits with suicides. Angela and knull were around 75-80 hits, but I was excited to see my r4 Kitty Pryde do it in 60 hits. Then I brought my r3 Omega Sentinel and was surprised that she did it in almost the same amount of hits and the same time. I’m starting to think she is indeed the best robot in the game… don’t have a nimrod so I’ll just have to assume🤷‍♂️




It is just winter soldier, but I’m excited for more people to get their hands on her so that we can see all that she can do

Honestly i would really want to see if people really rated Omega Sent that high if she didn't had high prestige . Just because she is top 5 prestige , she is getting all the hype . All the gameplay i have seen , i still think Nimrod is the better than her.

Her damage is really good, but her health as a r5 discourages me from using her for more than a few fights per quest. Which is fine at my roster progression, I really ranked her up as a counter to domino.

I think she is popular also due to her utilities and ease of use. She probably won’t the quickest fight in many low-medium health pool fights but may be effective in longer fights. I just got her as a 6*…so still testing the water with her too.

Because it is a level playing field. No nodes, no strange interactions with purifying, nullifying, immunities, nothing. It answers the question “what can this champ do?” by using as little energy as possible. It’s not the best way to test all champions, but it’s the best way to see all champs evenly.

It’s a scale for damage. It’s not the end all be all, but it’s a nice way to get a feel for how much damage that champion puts in.

I know that if my champ is taking 4 mins and 250 hits to take down WS then their damage is pretty low. If I’m doing it in a minute, I know if got something good going on.

As you say, there’s no nodes there not even sp3 so you don’t need to bother about baiting specials as they could ruin your flow or your rotation.

Not all champs who do really well in RoL translate to other content (see Annihulus), but equally, it’s just nice to see what a champion is capable of. It’s a measuring stick.

While I don’t like people only testing on WS and making a judgment call on whether a champ is “good” or “bad”, it does give some very basic benchmarks. However the final judgement of a champ shouldn’t be based on WS alone as there are a lot of champs who rely more on their specific interactions with game mechanics (such as buff heavy champs, or nullify) to get their best benefit.

I actually have to give some props to @Karatemike415 for his recent showcasing of champs like Rintrah and Kitty, where he takes on as many “endgame” bosses to show what a champion can do in a variety of different situations and node combinations. It gives a better view of a champ as a whole, rather than just the baseline.

I've tested a 5-star version of her, and haven't been terribly impressed compared to how popular she seems.

She's IMIW 2.0.

Even down to having slightly more impressive metal spikes in her back and cooler looking weapons.

She has a less stressful playstyle (but still a little stressful depending on the opponent's AI and length of special attacks) in maintaining incinerates/plasma compared to IMIW. She also autoblocks and heal blocks, she counters Miss instead of Evade.

She's a better jack of all trades, but compared to how some other Tech's dominate their niches (Nimrod, Ultron, etc), I am not that excited.

For me it's the reliance on debuffs for utility that made me go for nimrod than omega sentinel. If the opponent has a node that shrugs off the debuffs then that's that. Even quicksilver. I want him, and would rank him up because he looks cool and good damage, but all that depends on debuffs. I was going to save shards for featured crystals, but I'll just wait till he lands in the basic pool.
