The 7 star, relic etc are an attempt to divert away from the real issues of dropped inputs, and there are more bugs in the game than an Amazon rainforest.
Several people from the alliance have noted their intention to stop playing. I will continue but only as free to play. And see how it goes from there.
Battlegrounds there have been mixed feelings from the forum I am still 50/50. But more new content or nodes of play have to be developed to keep players of all skill levels happy.
I am down with relics or other things like ability to increase health armour damage and have more creativity in the game. 7 stars doesn't show creativity sorry this is my opinion. What's after 7 star, 8 stars no thankyou.

They mean that anybody could be blessed with a Beyond god tier six star or seven star champion, but that doesn't mean that they actually have the skills to use that Champion to their absolute best ability.

Absolutely will not be the death of the game. But you must understand many peoples concerns.

While yes, we are a small fraction of the community (albeit the most vocal), 7 stars introduction is coming right at the start of rank 4’s an rank 5’s haven’t even been introduced.

Many don’t have their favorite champs at 6 now we have to start over again? They were very slow to roll out 6 star acquisition I can only imagine 7.

Any relics - doing all this at once when rewards in game modes (battlegrounds, war, loyalty, solo/alliance quest, sigil, etc.) still need to be tweaked for thronebreaker/paragon? I think it’s drastic an POTENTIALLY rushed. An there’s the new incursions on the horizon….

I just feel like it’s not the right time, especially since there have been posts where miike has shooed away the thought of 7 stars. So you must get everyone’s drastic concerns. Do you not have your own?

There is 1 big issue with the evolve method if it was implemented into mcoc: Sig ability of champions.
The biggest reason why I'm not concerned about 7 stars is a LOT of Champions need to be sig 200 to be great. (Prestige is awful until they're at sig 200 too) So if we had an evolution mechanic, then should a champion retain their sigs? Intuition would say NO. So if kabam introduced evolution, then it would be safe to say it would be like getting a champion from the featured arena. This introduces new problems, we don't have our sig 200 6* anymore because we traded it for a sig 0 7*. Then if we want sigs on this 7*, we got to either dupe them from a crystal, or get another 6*, take them to r5 and sig 200 them. This alone would make the game way more P2W than it is already.
However, if champions could retain their sig ability, then kabam would just heavily restrict r5 materials so those who spend will get them and will have massively more prestige with their fancy evolved 7* sig 200 champions. Also we would see a huge restriction on the flow of 6* sig stones since their value has just increased to 7* sig stone levels. No one wants that.

The reality of the situation is that 7*s likely won't even be meta for casual players for the next few years anyways. For a slight boost to attack and health, you have to deal with the r1 or r2 combat power rate. Of the champion.

Now if we really want to talk about concerns, let's talk about relics affecting your profiles prestige. From what Kabam Miike said, relics will be in the gladiator circuit of Battlegrounds, and we all know the situation there, so overall, relics will be the Bane of top AQ alliances, and not 7*s.

I've never understood the sky is falling mentality. If you enjoy playing the game, play it. If relics come out and you find that you no longer enjoy it, stop playing. If 7*s come out and you no longer enjoy the game, delete the app. Why anyone would quit based on an announcement without waiting to see how it plays out is beyond me, but y'all do y'all lol. Personally I think there is a high probability that relics are going to cause lots of problems, game crashing, etc., but I've been wrong on occasion before. I think it will be a long time before 7*s are relevant, and by then we will be used to the idea. But regardless, I'll wait and see.

Game mechanics cannot be pulled out from other games in isolation, because they all work together.

As to why evolution wouldn't be appropriate for this game, it would be nice if the progression and economy people could just come on out and have an open discussion about the finer points of progression design. But how many people take me seriously when I do that? And most of what I'm saying is generally accepted design principles that are out in the open, and would be completely uncontroversial in any normal game design discussion. So how long would it take before the developers could create a workable foundation to have that discussion? How long would it take for them just to establish the *facts* of the situation that everyone would agree to before having that discussion?

Too long for most professionals, I can tell you from experience.

Yes, they can't fix the bugs so they announced 7*'s. I can't believe you figured out their plans so easily. The rest of us just just couldn't see what was in front of our faces.

I keep seeing this argument that 7*'s aren't creative. You act like Kabam hasn't added a new star rarity before. By your logic, 5*'s should never have been brought to the game much less 6*'s because those weren't creative enough.

Another thing I keep seeing is that more content needs to be developed for skilled players? Like what? Remember act 6? It was fairly skill based and it was nuked because people couldn't handle it. Act 7 and 8 are cakewalks because people don't want skill based content. EoP has already become stale as it's not really skill based.

So what does skill based content look like?
