When Iceman and other characters will be immune to their own debuffs ?

I still don't understand why Iceman is not immune to coldsnap and frostbite...
And there are others characters that are not immune to their own debuff and it's not normal !

Most champs should not be immune to their own debuffs. Everyone knows that Iceman should be coldsnap immune but it's not a big deal. If he ever gets buffed maybe it will be included.

Titania just got a lot more interesting. And Gorr being immune to bleed, poison, shock, and degenerate doesn’t seem problematic at all.

All those iBom players might get a bit peeved, though.

No you made sense. Iceman *IS* the one to make the argument for - others in the comments I assume are just being snarky? Cause why should Fury be immune to bleed or AA be immune to poison? That doesn’t make sense.

But Iceman, because he’s a mother freaking omega level mutant who can control the temperature of his body, should be immune to any cold or frostbite or anything like that.

People keep making the argument for Iceman, and it is a flawed argument made by people who do not understand simple physics. But the comic book authors - eventually - figured this one out themselves.

He is immune to cold, as in things that are cold do not harm him by being cold. But how does *he* make things cold? He isn't just a cold thing making things cold. Stand next to your open freezer door. How long does it take to kill you? Canonically, in the Marvel comics, Iceman is an energy manipulator. He doesn't make things cold by being cold. He makes things cold by ripping their kinetic energy out of them, which then makes them cold. Cold is a side effect of his powers, not the primary effect of his powers. It is just the most visible apparent effect.

Is Iceman immune to energy manipulation? If so, why would he be?

This is a trivial bit of physics that even the comic book writers got wrong for years, and still sometimes get wrong. You can make things hot by adding heat to it. You cannot make things cold by adding cold to it. There's no such thing as cold. Cold is the absence of heat. To make things cold, you have to remove heat energy from it. Adding heat is easy. But removing energy is not. Iceman's powers cannot work by just "making things cold" he has to somehow manipulate the energy state of the material to do that. And something immune to the effects of cold doesn't automatically become immune to the effects of energy manipulation.

In fact, we *know* Iceman's body is not immune to the effects of Iceman's powers. How? Because Iceman can manipulate it. Iceman manipulates his body with his powers. By definition, his body cannot be immune to the effects of Iceman's energy manipulation powers. If he can control it, another Iceman with identical powers should be able to do so as well, to his detriment.

I think he's so powerful (at least, at his true potential) that fire doesn't actually bother him.

As someone else posted here - iceman SHOULD not be immune to incinerate. Back when he had his 70s tv show with Spider-Man he was often foiled by fire - chameleon trapped him that way for example.

While a Match or house fire would not bother him, you’d think sunspot, Human torch or even Hyperion could melt him.

On another note - if ghost rider is finally immune to fire why is Mephisto not?
