The only source that could get that info is Kabam, the guy who got the first 7* or data mine.
I doubt Kabam leaked that info, so either the second possibility, either it’s data mined, or just the post is false info 🤔

It can be implemented by the devs and then change
It can Change in the Beta
It can Change in the CCP Phase
And still, right before a Thing goes live (sometimes after it's gone live) it still can change.

To me, that seems way too high on resources, if that information is correct. That much just to R2 one 7* champ means that most people may just bypass R5ing 6* champs. (I know I would)

Unless they are also going to (fairly soon) substantially increase the amounts of 6*R5 / 7*R2 resources you can grind for. To me it feels like to R2 a 7* should, at most, cost the same amount of materials as it would to R5 a 6*, but maybe even a little less.

Maybe:

1-2 T6CC
2-3 T6B
5 T3A
3-4 T5CC

But, who knows yet other than Kabam what their plan is for obtaining more rank materials. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have to say that’s not an uncommon thing. I very much remember having a R2 6* before I ever had a R5 5* because it just made more sense for the investment in the champions that would reach higher ranks and be more powerful in the long run. Plus with the inclusion of more R4 and eventually R5 gems, there won’t be as much of a need for those materials to strictly go onto a 6* champ, especially as more materials enter the game over time.

That’s true I guess, but I also (ever so slightly) hoped to see another 6* R5 gem for Act 8.2 exploration, as there are lots of people that still haven’t yet been able to get the one from Carina’s EOP objectives. As for “naturally” being able to R5 a 6* champ (via catalysts), I’m nowhere close to having what I need. (Not even 1 full T6CC of any class)

As we found out though, that is not the case. But I suppose that past 8.2 exploration, there isn’t really a *need* for people to have multiple R5 6* champs (yet) except for maybe Abyss if they haven’t gotten through it.

Is combat power rate still going to be a thing? Awakening gems and sig stones? I’m still going to rank five my sig 200 6* Hercules before taking any of the 7* basic pool to R2 at sig 20 (if you’re lucky).

Combat Power Rate. *NO*

They’ve mentioned that 7* (all ranks) will be equivalent to the max Power Rate (what Rank 5 are for other rarities).
Below 7*, they will still be bound to the +5% escalating currently in place (so up to 120% base rate for a Rank 5, of any Star rarity).
And 7* of any rank will already be at that 120% Combat Power Rate right from the start (and will stay there even when eventually ranked up)

I would R5 a 6* (sig200) Herc, Galan, Hulkling, Nimrod, Apoc, NF, Scorp, Spot, Doom, Rintrah and several others before taking anyone of those trashy initial batch 7* (unduped) to r2.
People need to calm the f down about 7*. They will be irrelevant for the first year+, except for the whales who'll pop those paragon crystals like candy at halloween.
Remember, 6* will also have Ascension (whatever that will be). So maybe a 6R5 ascended will be like a 7r3, which again, makes 7* totally irrelevant for me until we can r4 them. And thats like at least 3 years away.
I will use that time to slowly build my 7* roster, and then I'll worry about ranking them. Right now my 6* roster is stacked, only missing the new feature champs.
A god tier max sig 6* trumps an unduped trashy 7* any day. It was the same with the 5* to 6* transition.

For someone who isn't running after prestige, getting 2 R4 from 6 T6B & 6 T3A seems like a better option than 1 R5

IMO it looks like it would be better value for your resources to take a 7* R2 instead of a 6* to R5.
5* R5 needed 2 X T5B, 6* R2 needed 3 X T5B, that's a 50% increase.
6* R5 needs 3 X T6CC, 7* R2 needs 4 X T6CC, which is a 33% increase.
I'm thinking of holding off ranking up champs who are worthy from the 7* pool as a 6* now, because I feel like it's good value to R2 a 7* instead.
If ascension is accessible and good value then it would change my mind, but we know nothing about Ascension at this point. 😓
