Well first, thank you @Kabam Crashed for pointing to this.
Now that said, it almost creates more frustration. At least it does for me.
First and foremost, when this thread has been open for a year, why the silence here? Official information is already grossly disjointed between Discord, forums, live streams, Twitter, etc., etc. No where in that list are content creators though.
I don't have a "favorite" content creator, cause frankly, I don't really want to watch them, with the exception of tips for specific pieces of content. In this case though, if you didn't specifically point me to the video, I would have never watched it, cause it was a blatant click bait title. It flat out questions if relics are dead, only to later reference your note to him saying their not. So that's the first problem, and perhaps it's just me, but it'd be nice to keep official information on official sources.
The second bit of frustration is in what you actually told him. You said you the game team made a conscious decision to not release relics in 2024 so you could focus on other areas of the game. I don't take any issue with that, as it makes complete since given the overlap in who performs the work.
But why not communicate that from the onset? If you knew you weren't gonna release them in 2024, why beat around the bush with statements like "....in the coming months."
A lot of player frustration could have been avoided by simply saying "There will be no relics in 2024, as we focus on other areas of the game. We'll update you on their direction in 2025."
I guess to summarize, I'd ask to please keep information communicated on official sources, and secondly, to just be open and honest with us. I'd like to think the majority of the community can handle that maturely. Uncertainty, and the feeling of being strung along is when everyone reaches for pitchforks.
Thanks again for the link though. I'll check back in January '25.
