Who is the best NONCOSMIC option for Guardian?

6r5 S200 Ascended Kate
7r2 Shuri (Unduped)
7r2 Chavez (Unduped)
6r4 Juggernaut

Don't have a strong 7* Cosmic like Odin or Vox, and don't want to bring my r4 Herc for just 1 fight. Don't have 7* Wong either.

Who I'm considering for 5th slot:
1) NF and then do Guardian with Kate
(Slog fight since energy/bleed resis but dead NF for 20% would help for every single fight over just herc for 1)

2) Misty Knight and then do Guardian with Shuri.
Misty has a really neat synergy with Shuri that i've not seen discussed on the forums but she pauses her shocks during enemy specials and gets extra potency by 20%.

This could also help for the fights I wouldn't use Kate on such as Psychoman, Dragonman and Captain Britain.

3) Absorbing Man
This is the option i'm least leaning to but included because he can be very cheap for other cosmics. Though I know that Kate already does Air Walker well and can do Aarkus if sp1 is baited and heavy countered. Also have an r2 Chavez I could use for the cosmics as another backup.

Feel free to suggest other options or synergy champs, I didn't include Doom because he would fall into the Herc Bracket of being useful for just 1 fight (can do the other cosmics like Abs Man but i've heard he's very slow for them)

I was told shes better than Kate for Dragon Man, Psycho Man, and Captain Britain. Also helps that shes tanky for Grandmaster.

I’m in the same spot. I was gonna bring herc just for that one fight, but he’s also probably fairly good for the gm with his infuriate and being relatively tanky. But if there’s a non cosmic option for guardian that’d be helpful to know.

1. I brought r4 herc and relatively easily 2-3 shot the guardian.
2. Any reversed control immune easily solos gm just worry too much about him

She's definitely good for all you mentioned, but don't forget to use her against Wiccan. The 1 solo I got was against him

Reversed control immune is only good for the last 1% on GM. Using a reverse control immune in phase 3 will be costly due to the degen reverse control immune champs suffer in phase 3. I’d love to see a solo on the GM with a reverse immune champ.

Agreed, a solo with a reverse controls immune will be heavily reliant on the GM prompt RNG for the 3rd phase. If you get grandmaster says well-timed block 3 times during that phase, then you guaranteed yourself no solo. This doesn't include other prompts where he wants you to hit his block and then never touches the block button ever again.

How long did Guardian take with Herc? And is Shuri better than Herc for GM?

Gamora should be great for Guardian, super damage and True Strike from SP3, a high ranked can get you through other fights as well

Adam warlock should work. Ability to be unblockable for a better part of the fight.

It’s for those of us who don’t have Aegon. Kate, Shuri, and Wong are all energy damage champs and with guardian’s high energy resistance at max sig, you do significantly less damage. Also yes without an auto block counter you won’t make it too far per run.

It only took me 2 wounded phases and gm gave it twice during that phase, sure it takes some RNG but it's much easier than having to play reversed controls, atleast for me.

Kate is still good against guardian despite the energy resistance. I used juggernaut and absorbing man, both rank 4 and took him to about 60 percent. It was not going that well with them. Switched to Kate who is rank 5 and ascended.
With max boosts she took him down from 60 to nearly 20 percent. It is doable with 2 to 3 revives.

@Mismag822 thank you, this really makes it an easy decision now. I would’ve hated to bring a cosmic champ for a single fight when i can bring fury to get a 20% boost for each fight.

Does anyone know if the 5* winter soldier relic is worth ranking up for Necro? For kate.

Or does it not scale well?
