Can someone that has their contact info reach back out to them. He's back on youtube and doesn't seem to be doing so well again today. He just posted a .....video.... then deleted it. Dude might be in danger again.

Saw a post in the mcoc reddit yesterday from one of his ex-students giving some insight into what he's dealing with/going through. There was a definite aura of concern there. Hope he finds what he needs, both now & into the future

I knew he wasn't ok when I got a notificatiin from YouTube saying Proff had uploaded 9 videos. This was within a day or two after he had come back.

He had developed such a social and financial dependency on his channel, that I think he needs that again, even though he teaches. He's said before how the funds from his YT channel was able to get his family out of poverty.

But looks like if the donations aren't coming in like they used to, he's going to panic.

Unfortunately, if I understand the situation correctly, Hoff is never going to “be the same.” This is the reality of these types of conditions, that it’s about learning to find a workable balance in a new reality, and it is something he will struggle with indefinitely.

I said this before in the previous thread. I’m not the biggest fan of Prof Hoff’s content. But I have always defended his right to produce it, to represent his followers, and to express his point of view. And while he’s not always eloquent, to my knowledge he’s never been deliberately mean or excessively negative towards the player community, which I can’t say about everyone. He’s one of us, and he deserves our compassion and understanding while he tries to deal with what is an extremely challenging situation.

Anyone taking any sort of pleasure over his problems should be ashamed of themselves. We’ve all been silly at times. We’ve all been spectacularly wrong at times. But we can at least choose to not be inhumane towards one of our own.

If this message finds his way to him somehow, DNA3000 wishes him absolutely nothing but the best, and I hope however he gets there, whether he returns to content creation or not, that he finds some way back to a manageable life.

I don't follow him much but seeing this post i jumped to the channel and at the time of writing this message, he is live on his channel. I wished him all the best and told him look after himself. He definitely seems troubled. He said people took advantage of him and he went live for someone to tell him to go to sleep.
He also feels no one likes him, having issues with gf, money crisis and going through medications. Needs some love and support from folks.

Of course he's not going to be the same. Hence my use of "understandibly". This was a life changing situation for him, and the results of that are going to be noticeable. That's why so many of us are pulling for him to recover in whatever way he needs to, and to also take as much time away from the game as he needs to. Some of use have gone as far as reaching out to him through other platforms. I don't know who would find pleasure in what he's going through. That's disturbing.

He won't be exactly the same as before, but he certainly can go back to almost how he was. There have been so many cases of people with mental health issues who have recovered and reverted to their old selves. It takes time and patience and a lot of support which I don't think he'll get from being an active part of this community

I definitely agree with this, also the feeling he gets from being known for his YouTube channel he's said it himself on a recent video how much it means to him. His channel does means so much, and he wants to get back to it, it's his passion. You could see the joy he gets to get just from being on it and saying "Greetings Youtube!"

From the outside looking in, he can certainly return to a life that appears the same. But the sort of illness he described as being diagnosed for is not the sort of thing that has a cure in any form, nor does it typically enter remission. It tends to be progressive, if manageable in theory.

I’m not going to over analyze Shane’s condition publicly, nor am I levying an indictment on his future. Rather I’m saying that based on what he’s elected to share, his condition is not the sort of thing he is supposed to find a cure for, or we could possibly help him to cure, because there isn’t one. It is never going away, and in all probability will get progressively worse over time. That doesn’t mean it can’t be controlled with proper medication and therapy and treatment. But it will always be there, and Prof Hoff will likely continue to have up and down days irrespective of his future as a content creator. We out here in casual non-medical professional land have no way of knowing if content creation is beneficial structure or detrimental stress or both.

What I can say from my limited experience here, is i don’t think anyone gets it right the first time. It isn’t about returning to your life. It is about assembling a new one. Whether it superficially looks like the old one or not.

His problem lies in BPD, not necessarily an arena addiction, though the game probably isn’t helping it.

I have to admit watching his most recent livestreams and shorts are brutal. I could only take 10 minutes of the stream before I felt like **** and had to turn it off. I’ve never loved the guys content but it sucks to see him in this state. I really hope he gets the help he needs and quickly.

Is it BPD? I heard someone on another platform say it was bipolar. One is a Personality disorder (BPD) and the other is chemical (bipolar), though many people do have both.

Either way, I hope they get all the help they need, and it sounds like they have a support system which is great. I know all too well how difficult this stuff can be, on anyone.

From what I understand he seems to be going through some tough times both financially and mentally. I wish him all the best, and hope he can pull through this
