I don't suppose anyone knows how many arena points I would need to land the 6* havoc? That's my next thing to grind now i've finished with the battlegrounds event!

Since he's older, probably around 40m

Yikes - If it was around 10mil I would have gone for it but I can't do 40m! :D

Congratulations friend. I really feel like the jump to get to cavalier was way harder than getting to thronebreaker especially now that the tier 5 class catalysts are widely available.

Does anyone know why sometimes when you rank up a champ their rating goes down? Spider ham was on my top row of champs, I took him to rank 3 and he lost about 300 rating and is now down in my second row. Any ideas? Feel like I’ve wasted resources

The intended design is for players to level up champs. A freshly ranked champ is weaker than one fully leveled of the previous rank so a player is more incetivized to level up the champ. Ranking up a champ doesn't make them stronger, it unlocks the levels that make them stronger.

Oh really, that’s crazy to me. Rank 3 level 1 should be better than rank 2 top level in my opinion but thanks for the explanation!

Think of it like you're in school. When you start a new grade, you don't immediately start learning new things, but you start with a brief overview and refresher on what you learned the previous year. Then as the year goes on you are better prepared to build on it and learn new things. A new rank is a foundation to build on, not necessarily a place of immediate improvement.

You will notice a big improvement in him when you start investing resources and leveling him up. I normally don't rank up a champ until I know I have the ISO and gold to immediately level them up to Max.

Is my roster good enough for thronebreaker push? Just finishing off exploring act 5 before starting 6.2, and wondering who I should rank up before taking on the push to TB!

I'd suggest seeing if you can R2 Rintrah by the time you reach 6.2.6. I believe he should be the best option for The Champion, which is one of the hardest fights of the rest of the act. Otherwise, keep going until you get stuck.

I can definitely do that, thanks!

Not sure if anyone is interested in my progress or not but here is my first 7*! Hoping he’ll help with progression but let me know if he’s good/easy to play please!

Ah the Goat Machine. He has good damage with two sp2s and sp3, useful prre fights, high armor rating, and can be an okay ish defender

I would also suggest investing in Human Torch. ultimate mystic killer and unlikely to be released as a 7-star anytime soon, so he'll continue to have use as a 6-star for the foreseeable future

Really enjoyed my 5* torch and definitely want to rank up my 6* torch but now all the resources that went into my 5* feel so wasted 😂 also working on Ham from a science perspective so torch might have to wait. I like to rank evenly amongst classes rather than overdoing one class

You also want to rank up that Venom!! You won't regret it.

Ok a bit of a strategy question now rather than just asking about champs...I'm having issues against Rage 2.5 node in Chapter 5.4.4 (doing exploration before pushing for TB). They go unblockable so quickly and just delete my champs! What's the best way to fight this node?

Best way to clear through rage nodes is to use champs that rely on damaging debuffs for the majority of their damage. Otherwise, buckle up and start learning how to fight unblockable champs.

Champs with non debuff red damage also good.

Torch, fury, lds, gorr, ice should be good also I think venom can just eat the unblockable buff to heal. Can’t remember if it’s buff or passive soz
  • England73738England73738 Member Posts: 262 ★★
Thanks for this. Torch seems to be working pretty well but Iceman & Lady D still have too high damage around them and are critting too much and racking up the furies on the defenders way too quickly. Lost iceman in fight 1. Lady D is still going OK but mainly because of her nanobots

I did forget about the countering the buffs method. The furies are buffs, so they can be removed, but I believe that the unblockable is passive.
So some buff control is good, and almost any mystic can help with that.
Rintrah would be very good for it since they should never gain a fury. Chavez would be terrible because she increases damage with buffs rather than removing buffs.

This is where I really lack knowledge. How do you guys know all of this stuff?! 😅 I knew Rintrah was good but I haven’t really used him in story. Thought he was more of a defender but he definitely seems like a useful champ to rank up. Abs man was going to be the one I ranked up next but I must admit I’m terrible at light intercepting so may go with Rintrah instead. Does he needs awakening to stop buffs?

Rintrah is the guy you call when you never want to see a buff. It'll be long fights because of the damage cap, but you will also be able to stack lots of ruptures to help and they will be safe fights.
Venom can also be helpful if you spam sp1. His sp1 has a chance on each hit to eat a buff, so he can eat the furies and deal some extra damage with his bleeds. If you go rintrah, torch and venom you should be in fairly good shape.

Gonna correct you on one thing, rage is unaffected by AAR so neutralize won’t actually prevent the fury buffs from rage triggering. Your other buff control methods like nullify and fate seal should still work fine though.

Good catch. Been a very long time since we've seen them drop a rage node on something.

So I've been trying to pull 6* Herc, CGR or Hulkling ever since I started getting 6* regularly, to the point I will spend a bit more shards to open a cosmic/tech crystal rather than a normal one. I've just finished exploring act 5 before I push onto TB and got 3 5* class nexus crystals as a reward. I have genuinely pulled all 3 as 5* you couldn't write it!! I assume it's not worth ranking them up as 5* for where I am in my progression based on the resources it would take from rank 1? SO annoying...The game is trolling me!

Rintrah won't work with rage since rage is unaffected by aar
