Why can Red Skull be armor broken?

Red Skull is immune to nullify effects by champions. Armor break has always been classified as a nullify. I’ve attached a screenshot in which Kabam confirms armor break is a nullify.

What am I missing?

    It’s probably just a term they used back then to describe the interaction but is probably different. Kinda how there is a difference between cleanse and purify while armour break is a nullify it is viewed as a different kind of nullify that isn’t interacted the same as the way they code the other type of nullify.

    I'll point out it is probably the same because every node that punishes nullify has text in it that states armor break removing an armor up counts as a nullify

    Nope. They never did.

    However, other abilities that react to Nullify are less predictable: whilst Annihilus responds to Armour Break as if it were a Nullify, Overseer and Mister Negative don't.

    He's immune to direct nullify, like the ones from Mystics. Armor breaks are armor breaks, and he's not immune to those.

    I'm guessing it some old code. Armour breaks "nullify" the current armour ups. But they do that regardless of the nullify because armour breaks remove Armour ups(which was not always the case iirc)

    Armor break is not the same as nullifying an armor up buff

    Armor break removes an armor up buff and places armor break debuff which reduces armor rating by x amount

    they always mention on the node when armor break will count as nullify only on those nodes it counts as nullify

    Because armor break is an armor break with a side of nullify. The main thing is still armor break and you can have it without the side dish. However, you cannot have the side dish without the main course. This is why SoS annihilus was immune to armor break so certain champions couldn't cheese his abilities.
