Because he didn't login for a couple days. And if you think he spent 9500 units for a sig 60 gamora to open 10 paragons then I don't know what to tell you. 10 paragons cost 2k. Makes no sense what you're saying pal
Neither does your math. Your original comment states he noticed he was missing "about" 10k units. 9500+2000 is 11500. That's not "about" 10k.
How did they login, get the offer, watch the animations happening from the purchase, go on about their day and come back, buy 10 Paragon crystals and then notice.. that's a lot of buying and not noticing.
I understand your confusion now and possibly others in this post. The gamora offer included 10 paragons. He did not buy the gamora offer, then separately 10 paragons without realizing it. After mistakenly buying the gamora offer without realizing it (it's 1 tap with no confirmation), he noticed 10 paragons in his stash (maybe the next day he saw them, or some hours later) and assumed they were just paragons he never opened from past quests or whatever.
If I thought my account was hacked and they spent 10k units the last thing I would be doing is opening up crystals I didn’t remember having.
He opened the crystals before he realized his units were missing. By the time he noticed his units gone, he had already opened the paragons, thinking they were from somewhere else.
It's only a bad policy if it goes against you. They have to be able to take everything back. If you used it, they can't take it back.
Tons of places have these policies. As someone who works 2 jobs in retail, it's people with your attitude that we despise the most. People like you think policies shouldn't apply to you and get angry when you can't have your way.
Get over it.
It's a bad policy either way. I don't expect anything will happen, just hoping in the future kabam can add a confirmation dialogue after a large purchase to be sure you're not mistakenly buying something you don't want.
Also the policy is bad because it's painfully obvious this was a mistake. He never buys paragons. If you think he decided out of the blue to buy 10 paragons, but instead of spending 2k units he would actually spend close to 10k units for them and then hope to get a refund, then that doesn't pass the smell test pal

Shouldnt open anything next time its that simple as now gone they cant refund its not bad policy its literally how a gatcha works u cant refund something u opened
I don’t know if this is possible but maybe certain things can be reversed while others can’t. The compromise can be this: the offer is 9500 units for gamorra and 10 crystals which cost 200 each for a grand total of 2000 units. Since the crystals were opened unfortunately that can’t be returned but perhaps support can reverse the gammora sigs and refund 7500 units (9500[offer]-2000[opened crystals) that way the idea of once something is opened it can’t be returned is still upheld while the mistake of 7500 units can be returned

I think due to its a bundle purchase they gotta refund all meaning u also need them paragons still

It's not a bad policy. They do it to keep people from opening crystals, not liking the results and then claiming it was an accidental purchase.
There really isn't an excuse for him opening the paragons. The crystals you get for the calendar are under the shards tab. These would be on the first crystals tab.
It doesn't make sense to not realize that you have 10 crystals that you didn't have before.

If he never buys paragon, how did he think he had ten of them? You really don't get them for free anywhere.

If it became policy that such purchases could be reversed, then it would become commonplace for players to buy them, open the Paragons, then reverse the policy if they didn't get lucky.
Even now there are players who say if you don't like something Kabam does, just go reverse all your recent purchases even though that is technically illegal, as it is fraud. There's no question in my mind that if players had the ability to reverse purchases that included random crystals, they would be using the refund system as a way to game the system. They probably would think they deserved the ability to that anyway, as of course they always deserve more than random crystals generate. They would probably see themselves as heroes to the cause.
The policy of reversing purchases if you do not use anything makes sense: at that moment the reversal is completely neutral. You did not get anything yet, so there's no way to exploit the refund system. But if you're allowed to open crystals first and then ask for refunds you did get something: you got perfect information on what your crystals would have generated.
You only think this is all obvious because you think you know the player in question. Customer support has no such ability to judge refunds based on perceived character. And they also do not share your opinion on what "passes the smell test" because they see all the support tickets. I myself only see a minute fraction of all the crazy stuff that players do and attempt to do, and I will tell you from direct experience if you think what your alliance mate did could not possibly have been done deliberately, you have no idea what actually *has* been done or attempted to be done deliberately. It could very well be an honest mistake, but it doesn't even score a two on the player decision weird-o-meter.

Of course it makes sense. There’s rewards all over the place: objectives , milestones, emails , crystals that reward crystals and various stores. Do you keep an inventory of every single crystal you have ?
Pop up offers that appear immediately when you login, and have buy buttons right in the middle of the page, are a terrible design & there’s no pop up confirmation that you’re about to spend 9500 units or make an in game purchase.
There’s been other threads from people who unknowingly bought these packages. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes… try empathy for once.

The issue here is the guy already opened the crystals from this bundle meaning no refund can happen also how do u click the unit price without seeing a pop up saying puchase complete which at that point if wasnt intended u would go to support also theres an x for a reason and that the buttons are big enough to see

This isn't about whether he bought the package. This is about him opening the 10 Paragon crystals.
The reason why support won't refund the purchase is because they opened the crystals. This policy has been in place for as long as I can remember.

No, it just opens doors for other things. There aren't unit values tied to items so there's no way to actually prorate a purchase.
Just add a confirm button, such a small thing to add to avoid such issues. Many threads asking for same. Please Kabam.
But we dont just be mindful of dont tap until it shows i havent bought anything by accident as theres literally an x to close of the offer and the prices are big enough to not make this mistake

It's where the 4 hour crystal and daily crystal claim button is. It's the point in muscle memory to tap when you login. One can do this without even looking at the screen.
They have the warning message when you tap on units to level up a champion. They don't want to place that confirm button here. It's a trap. Wonder how many players dont follow up cuz they made a mistake.

The pop up is effin delayed when you login and you see your 4 hour crystal to claim and you go ahead to tap on it.
I agree with the other guy said something about thinking he was hacked and opening yhe crystals, if you think you got hacked the last thing you would do is say hey look im gonna open this... The argument of a confirmatuon on purchase is totally valid, nothing wrong with asking for that feature in the future. The reason for asking might be questionable.

It really isnt the animation shows in a different spot to the free crystal which isnt anywhere near the gamora bundle or hulk is more to the right and down a bit meaning its no accident

It’s like saying since you have never really been in a road traffic accident, all the ones that are accidents are probably deliberate. People do make mistakes. Just because you are extra cautious about pressing buttons, why do you assume others never make a mistake? My crystal tab once lagged so bad that it wouldn’t even scroll and I had to swipe up multiple times for it to even move. Guess what? I saw I had purchased 10 cavalier crystals because of this. Support refunded the 3k units but point is that mistakes do happen.

Well I got the hulk doing exactly what I said in my previous comment. I didn't even know what I bought until later when I logged in on my main and saw what it was.

I know what you mean; but I don't wanna get into that mess. Some people think there are hackers out there trying to get into their precious MCoC accounts.

True also if was hacked whats good about a popup confirmation that u wont see anyway

You replied to person asking for a confirm button saying it’s never happened to you and you just have to be mindful of where you tap. My response was directed at that. I am not saying anything about refund once crystals are opened.
