Kabam are so often months if not years behind in aspects of their own game. They coasted for too long initially and now are struggling to keep up with the economy that they created.
Fair points. I haven’t pushed for the Titan shards for a few seasons now because I value the time I would spend out of game more than another shot at a pool of *exclusive* champs.
As for “contempt,” that’s a strong word. However, it’s hard to escape the sense that there is a profound disconnect between those who make the game and those who play the game (cf. Jax comment re: how the devs don’t see time as a meaningful resource).

Perhaps “oppositional” is a more balanced description. I’ve worked with dozens of product teams over the years; sometimes on new products, sometimes on mature ones.
One thing I’ve observed time and time again in mature product teams is a defensive posture against any suggestion that things might be approached in a different way. Often you’re dealing with teams who have a ton of history and knowledge, and so it seems self-evident to them that whatever the situation is they have created, it’s the best possible situation given all the constraints and factors that they are intimately familiar with.

That ranks up there with the mythological "Cyclops is the most effective champ" misquote.
Don't see a reason why can’t they make them a selector which is progression locked just like they do with the platinum pass thing and give out meaningful rewards for each progression, it will be fair for all the summoners that way and make the BG push more exciting and rewarding. Honestly, seeing those 6* shards there kills the motivation of playing BG nowadays for me.
Please enlighten us then. How are we supposed to interpret Jax comment? Time is most definitely not considered a consumable resource in this game by the devs.
The player/developer disconnect has been occurring for years, and seems to be getting worse.

The disconnect between players and devs is huge. What’s even sadder is that the disconnect between the community and the “community managers” is also large. I hope they listen to the CCP members? But they hardly comment on any issues. I’ve noticed since Miike and Jax left, the communication has been terrible. I’m starting to sense that they left for a good reason.

And here I was thinking I was being charitable…the full quote apparently was “time is not a relevant resource in the game’s economical balance.”
The answer to not getting your quote memed into oblivion is to not say something so (1) dense or (2) tone deaf.
Whether the mask slipped ever so slightly or not isn’t relevant.
Regardless of intent, the statement resonated with every player who’s ever waited on the spinning dial to quit spinning, on a fight to load, on bugs to get fixed or out of date things to be updated or on any of a number of somethings that seem to claw just a bit more of the precious free time given the game.
