Kind of felt like someone at kabam just copied the crucible downscaled it made all the nodes the same. And made paths class specific rather than champ specific. I found it more fun than the usual paragon bore. Maybe if you tweaked rewards gave a bit more of what people want like t4 alpha t7 basic and make it more of a challenge by altering the nodes and not making paths class specific get people actually thinking. And I’ll be quiet and good lol
Sorry this is duplicate - I just realized this is the appropriate thread. Comments seem to have dropped off so maybe this gets lost. But just in case - here's my 2c.
Rewards are good (not game breaking but worthwhile). Play is pretty fun at it's core - but quickly becomes a long and unfun slog. 15 fights with one health pool is too much for this kind of content...knowing you have to do it every month.
Some kind of health refresh built in to the design like the last set of AW challenges or incursion-type nodes would be nice. You could also split it into 2 routes/lanes of 7-8 fights if you like. I do like the expanded roster use - which I still think is accomplished with a split.
I definitely could not do it itemless. It honestly made me use champs I rarely fight with. I spent units and revives and heals. I need to rebuild my revive and heal stores that I just bought in the last deal so I can get to Epoch like I wanted to. That being said I liked it, thought the rewards were good, and I will keep plugging along.
I got through it, because I really wanted to get Phoenix, after working so hard to earn so many dark plumes for so long. There was no way to get her without doing at least 4 of these paths. I also had revives expiring, so needed to do something with them. It took 16 revives in total to get through the 6 paths. The bigger issue is all the planning that has to go into trying to survive 16 fights on a path with the restrictions placed on you. When I tried to rush through it without carefully studying the nodes, the enemies and my champs, I made errors, like fighting Blade with CGR. You really can't wing it anyway, because of relics. You need to figure out who you're bringing in upfront and put relics on them if they don't already have them.
Ultimately, without the dark plumes being part of the rewards, I don't think it's worth the effort for the level of rewards you get. There's still four 6-stars in there, which no one doing this quest needs. How about dump them completely, and let us get a guaranteed, specified 7-star champ from this? Or at least a full awakening gem. Most of the rewards are just pieces of stuff, like part of an awakening gem and part of a titan crystal. So it's unsatisfying to get to the end and not be able to open much of anything. The relic stuff and catalyst stuff is good enough, but just not the most exciting rewards. The XP is also extremely weak. Only the equivalent of 4 days of the solo event XP, which we all know is basically free. The title isn't even original, it's the same one you get from Paragon Gauntlet.
There are ways to tune this to make it more reasonable. Shorten to 10 fights instead of 15. Let the health pools regenerate for each fight, or at least every 5 fights have a node on the path that regens you, just like the regen nodes in Incursions. Remove the class restriction, or at least let it be two classes instead of just one. Granted, that last one might not be useful if the node is demanding a certain class. But that just begs the question, if the node is already tuned to benefit a certain class, why is it necessary to add on a class restriction on top of that? There's already a disincentive to use other classes. And, finally, the other option to improve the quest is to tune up the rewards.
The stinginess on the 7-star awakening gems continues to be weird. It's been easy to get 6-star wake gems for a long time. I have almost half of my 7-stars naturally awakened already, and I'm far from the most endgamey of endgame players. I imagine bigger accounts have even more duped. And the slow pace at which new 7-stars enter the pool means we'll continue duping more in the near term. So, 7-star wake gems get less useful to us with each passing day. Which means the game economy has little reason to treat them as such a precious resource. Another idea would be to create a "basic 7-star pool" wake gem that's easier to get, but it wouldn't be able to awaken the rarer champs outside of the basic pool.
Finally did it and loved it. Was fun using so much of the roster. Should definitely be permanent. Hurry up and get those new relics out and that’ll make it even better.

So in your first paragraph, one of your main complaints is that you... couldn't rush through it and had to read the nodes?
C'mon man lol.
And I'm sorry that it took you 16 revives and you don't feel the effort is worth the rewards but asking for ability to get a Specific champ, or "at least a full awakening gem" is laughable. You KNOW Kabam isn't just going to hand out an Awakening gem - because this is not Everest content, this is going to eventually be new monthly content, you know, something that's here every month. I'm sorry if you thought it was too hard, but it wasn't, there is absolutely nothing that would warrant Kabam giving out full rewards like a full AG or a 7* champ selector or guaranteed champ from it.
The point is to do the challenging content each month, to gain those partial materials to form into something.
I’m not going to get around to finishing it unfortunately, I’ve run out of revives and health potions. I’m valiant but pretty early valiant in terms of roster depth so in all honesty to complete 4 out of 6 quests I’m pretty happy with that. It’s a great idea with great rewards (although if you want it accessible to all valiants, maybe change the path down to 12 fights that would still make me use lower rank 6* champs so it would be challenging but doable)
Are the last 2 tech and science? They are the easiest quests, tech you can deliberately trigger glance and heal from it, just makes fights longer, science you just need to parry heavy once then you can evade into heavy the whole fight….
My complaints: It's a bit too difficult, not like Epoch and all other modes which are way too difficult, but I have no modes to play. Bold of you assuming I have 16+ champs, of each class, to switch between. Why are you even making champs who ramps up if you can't even use them for more than 1 fight? I'm not MSD, I don't have good mechanics and don't have a full roster of R3s.. I am not having fun. Dunno, lemme fully heal between fights and give half the rewards or something
I really like having the dialogue included! I missed out on the past couple months because I didn't feel like bothering with the quests, but I always enjoy reading the stories. Very glad to see it streamlined together with the new VEQ

You don't need r3s. It can be done with 6* and even some maxed 5*
It's fun, 1st month AI was crazy hard, this months a bit more toned down, as mentioned before, map layout should be easy to follow in order to map out attackers, having it not be 1 single lane makes it unnecessarily annoying (kinda like wordy nodes) also it highlights how BAD the skill class is, its so bad I should be able to use my ONLY r3(Cheeilth) skill for the whole path 😆 isnt patriot due for a buff?? I pulled him from a titan. Hopefully he gets a titanic buff!!
Also it highlights how badly we need NEW relics, and hopefully we find out if the new relics will be in a different crystal or not. The valiant eq and my relic situation is what actually brought me here!!
For June Valiant EQ, I like the removal of portals, but .... now there isn't a clear distinction point to signify that these set of champions have a different set of nodes. (For example, one of the quests I checked the nodes for the first fight, continued playing the next few fights without checking the nodes cause I knew it was the same, and then suddenly faced a fight where I wasn't gaining power. After grinding the fight out, I realized it was a Relic fight).
While its great not having portals, there still needs to be some way to signify that there are changes to the nodes. Because I don't want to have to look at the nodes for every fight just in case it switches.
Only request would be to fix the bug with Auto play that does not let you back out of a champion swap node.
When there are portals involved, I just press autoplay instead of doing all those clicks. But then that won't let you back out of the champion swap page and check who the defender is .
The relic nodes are fine. They aren't really make or break and can be ignored completely. Except for the one that won't give you power.
What you want to do is hit back repeatedly once you are at that screen. If you hit back while you're in motion on the tile and return to the quest, you won't auto move again.

I absolutely agree with this. Some kind of notice that nodes are changing would be great.
That said, the last 6 fights of every quest is just the relic path from TBEQ. Therefore if they do not add some kind of node distinction, you at least have that knowledge for the next time they run this.

That's a GREAT callout and something they should absolutely consider when they bring the Valiant EQ back permanently.
If the nodes change, make two distinct sections of the map that are noticeable as soon as you preview it.
It's great I only wish there was clear distinguish when the nodes are changing and relics come into play, and also that there would be easier way to swap relics
My take on this is related to the health part (there’s got to be a better way to get it back)… other than that even knowing it’s grinding, is cool and the rewards more than compensate for the longer fights!
It gave me the change to use champions that are there just “collecting” dust…
Need to plan around champs that can Regen some of the health lost their are some champs in every class that can either heal back health or find a way around a node or a champs kit and bring in a champ that can benefit from Willpower if you get debuffs on you so I usually save those few champs who can regen till halfway through the quest.
I generally enjoy it, i just hate when I get 7 fights in, already used revives and potions on other fights and realize i picked the WORST matchup possible and have to either burn through my resources OR quit and start over. It would be nice to be able to get 1 mulligan. Like in AQ or WAR where you can move backwards. And swap out the poor choice you made. Just a though. Otherwise overall Ive mostly enjoyed it and the ability to get those rewards with a monthly quest.
i like the valiant gauntlet but you know you should add a node in the middle of the quest that heals your next champ to 100% cause the fights are lengthy and due to the ai being faulty you can lose quite a bit of health as not everyone is as skilled as MSD , aside the rewards are good and feels nice to have something new .

It did feel like the pi on the regular monthly quest was higher. Don't remeber seeing >100k pi before
