Should the Legend title really be given on luck?

In all honesty, the new event is nothing short of gambling. But, I do not have any issue with it because it is well designed.
When I started playing it and pulled some good hands, it was the first time that I was really satisfied after so much time. It gave the same feeling as opening first 6* crystals. But after accumulating too many points for the weekly event I started of the royale flush, and the coveted "LEGEND" title. Still doing the 30 energy ones to save time and my energy. By that time I have gotten the 3rd best reward so many times. Day 1 of the event ends here.
Start of the day 2 grind. It started of with me calculating the best scenarios to bet on. The chances of getting a flush after a good initial hand. I Started with few matches to test my calculations, it was going as intended. I was getting closer but not quite there. It had looked grind-y even on paper, but I had time. Or so I thought, now I am doing nothing but 10 energy ones. Exiting out of matches even after getting okay hands to not waste any time. Still enjoyable.
The third day. Same strategy, same approach. I had been close to the flush that I had lost count. Just one number here, a colour there; and I'd be a legend. But it never came. "Almost" was nothing new now. 750, 800, 1500 were now just numbers. Reaching to Lonewolf after third replacement even after starting with The Fourth echelons and The Captain's ones. Then I thought, does it really matter. Now I am thinking of leaving the game during a very successful Raid period for my alliance. The fact that I was willing to grind for a title, was enough to wake me up. I'll still be playing, completing daily supers, some arenas and I'll be looking forward to the Banquets, but rushing to next progression title the day it drops? or the new everest content?

My question is simple. The title which had so much value, it required to carry out some Herculean tasks to get; should it now be handed out by luck?
I know it's entirely the decision of the game team, but devalue-ing such a rare in-game item is not really ideal. And this degrading value of the title made me realise the path the game team has decided to follow. Which is why the partial retirement.
To each to his own though.
But you not liking something as much as you used to like it doesn't mean that the moments you cherished then, are now worthless.
Still agree it's just a title.
Give us rainbow titles, purple titles, black titles. Adding titles to chase for will add more replayability to the game. You can even add ranked titles to roster grounds so that you can showcase how you're hardstuck in uru with 10+ rank 4s!!!!!
Literally none of that is impressive. Who cares.
Ones are just imitations
Only good thing is they don't give the title anymore just the badge.
I think for this, they should have went with something new that tied into the casino/ card game aspect. That would have been neat.
It also applies if you're harming yourself with obsession and compulsion. Just saying, you were pointing out some unmanageability as a result of the game. Might be a good idea to balance how much you try for it.
